This was one of the fragrances that the consultant at the Perfume Museum thought would appeal to me. She was right on with five of the seven she recommended. This smelled great on paper, so I purchased a miniature.
I so wanted to like this. I’m a big chypre fan, especially of vintage chypres. This doesn’t work for me at all! It reminds me a little bit of Agent Provocateur (which I like a lot), and also teases my memory of something way back in the late ’50s or early ’60s — possibly Max Factor’s Hypnotique, but I’m not sure.
There is something nice in this, but it’s overpowered by something less than nice. It’s perhaps too sweet, too strong and somewhat metallic or chemical. After about a half hour, it smells like dirty laundry or deodorant trying to cover perspiration and not quite succeeding. Ugh!

On me, it reminds me of the mens cologne samples my grandmother gave me as a child to pretend with. Nothing feminine about it; glad I got this as a sample and did not purchase.

can’t believe i haven’t reviewed this. downright the most romantic and luxurious floral fragrance i’ve had – and i’m not even a rose fan. i’d say it’s more aromatic than the traditional chyphre. and it’s not for the demure – very outspoken, and ultra feminine. i get compliments when i wear it.
