Out of all the fragrances I’ve tried, RM is my favourite (with Japanese Cherry Blossom as a close second). This has a je ne sais quois that enraptures me into it. I’m hoping TBS will not discontinue it.. otherwise I’m going to stock up.

Bought this today bc of another great MUA recommendation. On me its a base of a soapy clean musk, with some dry woody notes (definitely tobacco but this isn’t smokey), the cinnamon lends just enough sweetness, almost tricks the nose into thinking there’s some vanilla– which is nice bc in my opinion it makes it a touch more feminine (although this is definitely unisex).
Sillage is really low. This is def a skin scent. The woodsiness makes it great for fall. I love catching whiffs of this when the wind blows– it smells so clean and so unique. I have to say this smells more expensive than it is. This is wonderfully blended. It reminds me the tiniest bit of maybe narciso narciso (the one in the black cube). Maybe just bc of the dry woods w a hint of sweet. This is much more soapy though.. And even drier
I can’t think of another fragrance dupe for this. But in case your curious:
Black musk smells just like aquolina pink sugar (*to my nose).
Smokey rose musk- reminds me a lot of givenchy hot couture (not a dupe. But really similar vibe. Esp after it sat on my skin for awhile).
White musk is your classic white musk lol. Very 70s/80s imo. Has that smell like coty musk, jovan white musk or even Alyssa ashley… I actually have an aunt that’s been wearing tbs white musk for as long as I’ve been alive. It bleeds from her pores at this point.
Just added the others for reference but yes I am loving red musk. I took it home and bathed in it pretty much. The EDT smelled like straight up alcohol to me– so I went with the oil. 20ml for $20 isn’t too bad and plus TBS is basically always running a buy 3 items get 3 items sale– which makes it half price in a way.

Apple-y, spicy yumminess! I don’t detect a lot of musk until the drydown. Fruity top notes. Not soapy or powdery to my nose. Low sillage, average staying power. The oil is more thin than I prefer, but it makes for a nice skin scent. Great for fall and winter nights!

Way to go Body Shop. This is different. I have the oil and I love it. Its a skin scent. It smells clean but spicy and interesting. It lasts a long time for me, but the sillage is minimal. Perfect for work. For nights out, I am going to layer the oil with the EDP.

I agree with reviewers that it’s not a strong fragrance with a lot of “silage” but I still love the fragrance, it leaves a gentle fresh clean soapy sandalwood musk scent on skin. I got the perfume oil because oils usually have more lasting power than edt.

This is for the parfum oil.
I smelt this perfume and was instantly intrigued. The scent is a lot different than my usual choices, but it is tempting and sexy. I decided to buy a bottle of the parfum, only to find it wear off soon after application. I even took the bottle with me to work so I could freshly apply it there, but even then found that the scent has no longevity. I am sorely disappointed. I took it back to the store and was refunded my money.

I love this. I’ve read reviews that this is a “masculine” musk, but i totally disagree. If you like milder musks, and spices (think Tom Ford Sahara Noir), or any other spicy, musk scents, you’ll like this. I only got the body spray, but I’m impressed at the staying power. I don’t feel the need to even go for the perfume oil, or EDP. The spices and tobacco in this liven up the usual Body Shop :white musk”, making it much more interesting than a simple, clean musk. I will wear this year around, because i love how heat blooms this type of scent. I think this is a little too “clean” for a traditional masculine scent, but hey…it smells good….I’d like to sit next to anyone wearing it.

I used to wear Waves of White Musk, when I was 18, absolutely loved it back then. Strangely enough, the normal version never really pulled me in. When I saw this on TBS site my interest was piqued because the notes, no flowers (!!), just spices & musk. I went in for a sample and voila, after finishing that here is my review. It starts out very sharp & sweet (that shall be the pepper, the top note), it then turns from sweet & warm (cinnamon) to warm & smokey (tobacco). It’s a very rich, warm & spicey scent, perfect for this time of year.
But, while I love the idea, and even though it is a lovely fragrance, it’s not 5 pointer. It reminds me a bit of that cheap unisex musk fragrance from the 90’s by Alyssa Ashley, which was most teenage girl’s signature scent in my teens. Also it doesn’t stay on for long. The sample was eau de parfum, but the TBS SA did say that the oil is better, so I might give that a try, hence the ‘will rebuy’ tick. Shall update after sampling that for a while ;).
EDIT: I’ve bought the perfume oil, and do like that better. Because it doesn’t contain alcohol the initial sharp burst is gone and you step right into the smooth & warm ness of it, very winter-y. Absolutely my favorite this winter!
