Being that I’m against animal testing, I had to give up my beloved Chanel Chance Eau Fraiche. After searching and trying countless fragrances that are cruelty-free, I have finally settled on Pour le Monde.
I have always heard that mixing fragrances is a no-no, but after receiving my sample set from Pour le Monde, I discovered that a mix of Envision (a darker, more intense scent) and Empower (a bright, citrusy fragrance) works for me in about a 75% Empower/25% Envision ratio. My boyfriend says it smells like the health food store (adding that that is a compliment!). It isn’t your standard patchouli type scent; it’s much more nuanced and layered. I really like it, just have to make sure I don’t put on too much of the Envision as the heaviness of the fragrance doesn’t suit me for everyday use.
I was so pleased to happen upon Pour le Monde. I love my Chanel, but my conscience is at ease using only products that aren’t tested on animals. And this fragrance really adds to my allure…!
Get the sample set if you want to check it out. I think it’s around $20 for three vials, which lasted me a while. The regular size runs like $80, but I had a coupon for half off the second bottle, which helped.

This perfume has a lush opening and a creamy base that really took me by surprise. Reading the scents that were combined in this perfume, I would not expect such awesome results. However, when I got a sample of this and applied it, I could not stop sniffing myself. This scent was truly addicting. It combines Italian bergamot, Brazilian orange, Persian lime, Florida grapefruit and pink peppercorn in the top notes. This was an interesting opening, one that I would not immediately be attracted to. Then the middle notes kick in, and I was intrigued- French lavender, palmarosa, and Egyptian rose geranium. Finally, my favorite part was the base- Indonesian patchouli and sandalwood that kept the balance of this fragrance. It was not too fruity, not too floral, and exceptionally unique. I have never smelled a commercial brand of perfume quite like this. Bravo!
