This is a really nice perfume-my favorite of the Coach. It is clean and fresh smelling with the dry down (and a nice citrus/fruity touch). It is not too strong and it is also a nice perfume to be worn during the day. A few people have come up to me and asked me what perfume I was wearing so it does bring compliments.

This review is for the original red colored Poppy perfume; not the orange Poppy Blossom or purple Poppy Flower. (Note to Coach: It is a bit frustrating to have three fragrances named Poppy and not have them distinctively labeled on all the packaging.) Rant aside, the (red) Poppy is a fragrance I thought I would love in the store, but ended up really disliking. It has everything going for it for me: Sniffing the bottle it’s a crisp, bright, fruity floral. I love the top notes of cucumber and mandarin. It doesn’t overwhelm with intensity or hit you in the face, it just bright and cheerful and clear. Personally, I really don’t prefer a scent that knocks you unconscious at the first whiff, then wants to show you that it has a softer side an hour later when you regain consciousness. Coach Poppy seems easy to love at first scent from the bottle.
Then I spray it on, or just spray it anywhere, and something really bad happens. It goes ultra sharp and sour, like flowers left for weeks in a vase. Or a rotting pear. I can’t figure out what notes are going off, because it’s just a muddled mess on me. It doesn’t clean up afterward either (i.e. it’s base doesn’t go into any lovely comfort for me).
Poppy characterizes for me why I need to sample and sample again before I buy.

My go to absolute favorite perfume…however take note they make different versions…my family tried to get me my usual favorite and I had to take back and ask for the original which has the red ribbon attached to the outlets not the elastic flower version….love it ran out need more!

Was I the last one to know that a perfume could alter your mood? Maybe not but I felt the power of my spirits coming alive with the Poppy perfume. It has this wonderful citrus and floral smell that just screams happy! I normally gravitate towards warm, sexy vanilla smells and though those are wonderful for nighttime or special occasions, I apply this in the daytime and it’s an instant breath of fresh air. I always receive compliments when I wear this perfume. It’s reminds me of the Body Shop’s satsuma scent that is beyond heavenly. I’ve had this for about eight months and almost at the tail end of it. Next time I repurchase I will definitely purchase their 3.4 oz as I bought the 1.7 to try it out. The scent definitely makes up for the packaging which isn’t everything to me.
Oh! and if you’re interested in trying out this product or other scents from the Coach Blossom collection, Hautelook had them on sale a couple of weeks ago for a fraction of the price. I’m hoping they bring it back so I can stock up!

I sprayed this perfume on at a department store. I thought it was a very good fragrance but after that, I didn’t think much more of it. That’s until I was at another store, looking at jewelry.
The jewelry sales gal asked me what “that wonderful scent” was. I told her I sampled Coach Poppy. She said it was such a fresh, clean flowerly/fruity scent. I smelled my wrists and told her I agreed! I went back to the department store the next day and purchased a gift set (on sale) of Poppy perfume and body lotion. To me, I smell a little hint of vanilla. But when the perfume rep showed me the list of ingredients, I saw it was probably the sandalwood that I was mistaking for vanilla. I still think it smells like there’s a hint of vanilla so the sandalwood must be light and delicate because a lot of times, sandalwood can be over-powering. I’m glad I purchased this. It’s a perfect fragrance for summer. I wear it nearly every day. Next time I buy it the bigger bottle.
P.S. Guess the perfume rep doesn’t know her product. I believe this scent DOES have vanilla in it. I knew I smelled that!
BTW, the lotion is fragrant and very moisturizing. You get what you pay for with designer lotions. This is not some drugstore oatmeal lotion.

Ive always had a hard time with perfumes. They all seemed to have a similar kind of scent. Walking around ulta one day, just trying random ones, bam! Poppy was so different from anything else and in a good way. It was breath of fresh air in a garden of old lady perfume, sorry but i think everyone knows what im talking about. Im a fruity, sweet, light floral person and poppy is my favorite. At first it slightly remind me of lucky brands lucky you when I was a kid, but the more I wear it, the less i get that. There may be one crossover note from there, but it may just be me. The downside for this is it doesn’t seem to last all that long for a eau de perfume, however i recently heard wet/damp skin helps perfumes last longer? Worth a try. But even with the shorter lasting power I’d still buy it again for sure! Maybe just at a discount place next time.

This is a crisp, fresh, sweet, non overwhelming smelling perfume. The first time I smelled it was when I was waiting at the airport, a woman close to me was wearing it, and I had to know what this wonderful perfume was! I instantly loved it. Great stuff, highly recommeneded

I came across this perfume in a sample from Sephora and loved it but decided since I wear DKNY Be Delicious Fresh Blossom to pass on it. Well, one day I was wearing the Fresh Blossom and someone asked if it was Coach Poppy and I thought hmm I might need to get this. I love floral citrus fragrances. Anything light and fresh is usually what I go for in a daytime scent. So I ordered this in the 1.7 and I love it because yes, it’s similar to Fresh Blossom but more of a crisp citrus. I like scents that are similar because I know what smells good on me and floral citrus happens to be it.
I wish I could describe a fragrance like some reviewers do they really make you smell the scent. I can only say this is one of my favorite perfumes! It’s pricey but this will be more a special occasion fragrance. Though I want to pull the trigger and just get the 3.4 ounce because I really luv this scent! If you like DKNY Fresh Blossom or anything in this realm you’ll love Coach Poppy. It’s very well made and I think would smell good on almost anyone. The only downside is what another reviewer mentioned it doesn’t last! Otherwise it’s a fantastic perfume! Highly Recommended!

Cute adorable bottle, smells light and girly. There isn’t much else to it say about this perfume. If you want to smell girly with a hint a summer, this is for you. I got it for 60 dollars at 0.5 oz and the size up which is the biggest, I don’t recall the sizing but is 90 which isnt too bad if you love perfume like I do.

This is one of my new favorite fragrances by Coach! I was browsing in Sephora recently, and happened to sample some of this new perfume. It’s notes are sweet, fresh, a bit flowery, and gives off a fun, youthful quality; yet I think women both young and mature will appreciate it’s feminine fragrance. A few notes contained in the cute bottle are cucumber, mandarin, freesia, jasmine, gardenia, rose, crème brulee, cedarwood, sandalwood, vanilla, and whipped marshmallow. Sounds good enough to eat!
My only complaint is that the perfume for me does not last longer than an hour and I frequently will have to reapply. It is also a bit on the pricey side, but for it’s quality, that is a given. Overall, a very feminine, sweet, and floral scent that both my husband and myself love.
