I tend to avoid tuberose and jasmine notes in perfume. I originally just bought this to finish off my Dark collection, but La Vie La Mort actually smells really good, with none of the sharp, harsh, chemical-y, or sour qualities that I usually associate with tuberose and jasmine.
La Vie La Mort smells very tropical to me, slightly clean and just sweet enough, with a subtle spiciness underneath the florals.
It’s what I imagine it would smell like to be caught in a flower garden in Hawaii when a sudden, cold rain starts falling.
On the other hand, it reminds me of a shampoo I had once that I believe was some awapuhi, tropical floral concoction, and thus it smells like an expensive hair salon scent to me as well.
Overall, this is a very mellow, smooth, pleasant floral. It’s very easy to wear, in my opinion, and lasts about 6 hours on me with decent throw.

This is part of the dark collection because, unlike the more dolly-goody goody girly scents TM usually does, it is full of mystery and it is truly unique. There is a spiciness to the floral that makes it very grown up and very sexy. These aren’t notes of the flowers on your nightstand – they are much more devious than that.
This perfume is the less innocent answer to Michael Kors. I love Tuberose as well, its probably my favorite scent. This fragrance goes lovely in the hair – if you want your hair to smell divinely sexy all day long, do this on your neck, décolletage and in your hair. I have many scents and this is without a doubt my number one. Plus, who could resist answering when asked what are you wearing- Life and Death. That sums it all up.

I’m wearing La Vie la Mort right now.
Starts with a blast of tuberose and Jasmine at the exact same time. Then mellows out within a minute to a very subtle floral. I wish I could smell more of the cardamom, but I can’t smell any of it at all. Overall it’s nice. I’m a big fan of Tuberose and Jasmine but I was hoping for something a little darker. I think the cardamom would have brought that. If I could only smell it 🙁 This has a light clean scent that is not overpowering in any way. And I don’t think it has a lot of staying power. I applied it to my hand and … within the time it’s taken me to write this review… it’s almost gone.
