I bought this foundation because I wanted to try something different and Laura Mercier’s products have always seemed so fancy and exclusive. The foundation consistency as it says in its description is quite creamy, you don’t need to use a lot, so it would last a good amount of uses. As regards blending, I found it quite hard to blend, for me the best way to apply it was using fingers it was easier to spread it and get a more natural finish rather than my trust stippling brush. Although it is oil free, it did not last very long, I found my skin got very oily than usual in comparison to my Clinique Anti Blemish Foundation. Overall, this foundation has a lovely texture and finish and the coverage is quite full, not much need to build on it, but it was just a bit too heavy for me and the colours did not quite match my very pale skin with a mixture of undertones. Will use this for special events or nights out instead.

Pros: good color match, great coverage for redness and acne, photographs well, feels lightweight, no need for powder (on dry skin)
Cons: not kind on dry skin or patches. Made skin texture look rough.
You can improve the cons by only using fingers to apply and a primer, but my skin really did not like this foundation 🙁 in the mirror, I saw white dots all over my cheeks where the foundation highlighted my dry patches. It’s a shame because I love the color and coverage it gives. Another con is how expensive it is.

I purchased it because of the colour match (Extremely yellow, NC20-25)
I found that it emphasized pores and dry spots that I have from acne medication. It went very patchy after powder. It looked rather heavy even though I applied it using a damp sponge with a light hand. The coverage was impressive, a single layer covered all redness. An extra layer over acne scars eliminated the need for concealer.
I ended up returning it because the scaly look is not hot.
