   I think the coverage is ok, it is a little too oily for my skin, it is not worth the pricetag. Mark under overpriced.

   I was extremely excited to try this one and the SA at D&G was really lovely and gave me a good supply of samples.
   This foundation was really easy to apply and of a good medium consistency. I applied it over my moisturizer and la base pro with a wet sponge. It did appear to dry fairly quickly but wasn’t a biggie since it blended really well. No streaks or patchiness which is a big must.
   I’d say this is definitely a medium to heavy coverage foundation as one application got rid of all my blemishes which is not the case with most light/medium foundations.
   After my foundation was dry I set it with my trusty long wear powder and the results were breathtaking. Absolutely flawless and airbrushed skin, not entirely matte but with a more natural glow.
   My face felt a little dry and hot so I suspect there’s an irritating ingredient in there but it wasn’t entirely horrible or noticeable, just a bit uncomfortable.
   By 12pm I felt really oily and could see the foundation starting to separate and settle into fine lines especially around my eye area. And it left me old and haggard looking with a powdery mess on my face. From there on it got progressively worse and I couldn’t wait to get home to wash it off.
   It also oxidized maybe a shade or two darker throughout the day but that didn’t bother me as I was given a lighter shade to begin with.
   This foundation has some serious potential for greatness but it falls short so my advice to anyone interested in trying it is to get samples, lots of samples! I really wish this had worked for me but alas…the search continues.

   I barely wear foundation but I have moments where I realize that I really want to be one of those people that DOES wear it. I like a light face that looks even with feather-weight coverage. I’ve never worn anything from Dolce and Gabbana’s line before though I have heard very good things. I love Pat McGrath and I thought about the Luminous foundation first. I saw some reviews of this Lift foundation though that talked about how light the coverage was and how easily buildable it was. It sounded like something that would work for me. The pump is perfect and you don’t get a mountain of product that squirts out all at once- I use a dot for my forehead, chin and cheeks with a little more as necessary. A damp sponge was great at smoothing out the coverage. I didn’t look made-up, I just looked like I had really nice, smooth skin. No caking or streaking visible. This is the best for me!

   Note: I took this is Natural Glow 100. I am a MAC NC/NW 20 usually and this seemed like a good fit. I read that the pre-100 colors for DG are VERY light and I prefer to trend towards the darker side also because I don’t buy different shades of one foundation- too expensive for me, especially because this one is $72 at Sephora.

   I waited over a month to post my thoughts on this foundation because I wanted to be absolutely sure it was as great as it initially seemed, so this new addition went thru foundation boot camp before I formed any opinions. It came at a good time because the weather has been crazy here (hot and humid some days, chilly/windy/dry some days, you get the idea) along with me mending my dry dehydrated skin at the beginning if the trial. It’s definitely been thru the mill to the point that I’m comfortable lauding it’s merits…because lemme just say…IT IS WONDERFUL!!!

   Dolce&Gabbana Perfect Reveal Lift foundation is said to be idea for dry/dehydrated/dull/aging skin and I couldn’t agree more. I also think it would work well on normal to combination skin as long as the oily areas weren’t excessively oily. For example, I am dry for the most part but when it’s hot/humid I tend to get oily around my nose and chin later in the day. The foundation still wore extremely well thru those times and didnt break down or pool in lines or pores. It dries down to a nice satin-matte finish. It’s not a dull or chalky matte (like the KA SSF, TF$ Perfecting, YSL Fusion Ink) ended up being on me, but more of a ‘my skin but better’. Let me stress…I loathe matte foundations. Not a single one has EVER flattered my mature skin with its lines and dullness. On the same token, bases that are too shiny can accentuate flaws and end up aging me also. The D&G Lift falls right into that “safe zone” that’s neither too matte nor too shiny.

   The texture is very nice as well. For me it was a welcome break from the recent mass release of watery serum foundations (not that there’s anything wrong with them…just not my cup of tea). It’s not too thick at all but is definitely fluid enough, a bit thicker than KA Sensual Fluid but a bit thinner than Chanel Lift Lumiere. Upon application, it feels rich and creamy but in a wonderful way, not a heavy way (many thanks to Rachel Anise, TheBeautyProfessor, for help with that one…I was having trouble pinning down a word for its texture, and when she called it “rich”, it seemed so perfect!). It can be sheered out to low medium coverage or built up to nearly full. It blends and builds seamlessly and effortlessly, does a great job of covering the large pores on my nose, and doesn’t sink into my deep forehead furrows (like almost everything else does). I experimented with a few different application methods and found that for sheer coverage, a damp BB is optimal and for medium to full coverage, “stippling” or “tapping” it on with my RT EFB or Chikuhodo G-10 works amazingly and has become my favorite way to apply. It applies easily with fingers, but for some reason, it seemed to dull the finish even when my hands were completely clean and free of any other product.
   I had the best results simply putting it on over skin prepped with my normal skincare and moisturizer and did not have to break out extra heavy moisture artillery. I’m usually a primer junkie but this base does amazing on it’s own and some primers even seemed to hinder it’s performance rather than help. the foundation help up best and stayed out of my lines best when I skipped primer or mixing it with anything. One exception is the D&G Sheer Radiance Makeup Base…it’s wonderfully moisturizing and works great under the foundation, but it’s also spendy and not entirely necessary because the foundation does fine without it. Alas, if you need an extra boost of moisture, then it may be worth the investment (and it has skincare benefits as well!).

   Despite its rich texture and potential for high coverage, it’s feather light on the skin. Also worth noting, is the fact that it contains some state of the art ingredients that improve skin texture and luminosity (Hogwash, I thought…that’s what KA SSF and bT Densiliss said, and after they softened my skin for a few days, they then dried me up like a raisin!). However, the D&G Lift really does deliver in this department. My skin feel soft and smooth, and I’ve noticed I need less and less moisturizer and face oil as well. Even the spot on my hand where I pump it out prior to application is softer and smoother lol! Did it cure all my wrinkles and sagging? Good gracious no… no cosmetic or cream out there will accomplish that miracle, but my face is markedly softer and there is a healthy sheen to it now even when I am not wearing makeup. Keep in mind, I wore this every single day (and still am)…the downside is I’m totally neglecting my other foundations!! Coverage, no heaviness, no cakiness, wears well for a good 8 hours, is noticeably improving my skin’s softness and luminosity…YES to all of the above!

   Matching may prove a little bit of a pain, as I do not find the shades in this formula to run exactly consistent with other D&G bases. Some are close to previous formulas, some vary. I do wear shade 78Beige across the board, but it is slightly peachy in the Lift formula…so just be aware of that. For reference, I am between NC15-20 in depth but lean more neutral than yellow.

   Packaging is the same as Perfect Luminous and Matte formulas…a weighty, luxe glass bottle with a hygienic pump, except the Lift formula dawns a shiny black lid instead of the gold metal lids that topped the previous formulas. There is no discernible scent and it contains an SPF of 25.

   I would absolutely repurchase this foundation and recommend it to anyone with dry/dull/dehydrated skin, especially folks like me who have aging thrown in the mix!
