I got this in Vanilla rose. Maybe it was just luck because I don’t really understand a damn thing about skin tones undertones or whatever it means, but it serves my skin in an almost perfect way. I don’t even need to put this on the neck. Two pumps are enough.
The finish is as described, so it looks velvety, and demi-matte. It never looks very flat. It might look cakey after some hours but it’s almost certain it might be a personal matter, because I never blot (..laziness..) so when it melts, it melts, and the issue is particularly visible in hot weather despite the use of Catrice prime&fine primer (I reviewed that too), when I get oily in every single inch of my face (any suggestion for a cheap mattyfing primer for seasonal oily skins?). So, hot weather+ this foundation + Essence concealer + Essence trasparent powder = nooooo. But in wintertime, it just stays there and nothing happens, and it has you covered for a handful of hours – I tend to dry a lot on my nose and my chin, so get ready to see the dryness highlighted. Then it just disappears – no traces on the cotton pads + micellar water. I should call agents Mulder and Scully.
It has this weird smell, (not that I feel it, but my husband finds it a bit irritating, describing it like “Girl did you burn a plastic bottle on your face?” but you know, he usually exagerates everything in the world) but other than that, it is nice for a daily use. Never caused me break outs. It blends easily with bare fingers, sponges and brushes. Even if it’s been open for 6+ months, it didn’t oxidize a lot thanks to the helpful pump that surely has some no-air system. The price is definitely appropriate.
So, let’s do some pros and cons:
PROS: The price (8 euros in Italy), shades if you’re light skinned, good finish
CONS: melts soon in hot weathers, no dark shades avaiable, highlights the dry spots,
I like to try new foundations until I find my HG, but would repurchase this if needed.

Absolutely the worst foundatiom I’ve ever had. I love other catrice products but this just messed up my face. I have oily/combination skin and I dont know how but this foundation accentuates some dry patches i didnt even knew i had. Doesn’t blend well at all and doesent even cover anything!

I did not expect to love this foundation. I needed an affordable foundation that would match my “tan” before I splurged and bought one of my usual foundations, but I was so pleasantly surprised. The shade 020 matched me perfectly now and when I’m a bit paler, and the formula is very nice. It glides on and can be built to a medium coverage. The name “Nude illusion” suits well, as it looks very natural. It doesn’t cover some of my bad acne, but blurs it out considerable, and that is enough for me. It wears well on the skin all day. It does fade a bit around the nose after a few hours, but its not so bad that I cant stand to look myself in the mirror haha. I have worn this from 6 in the morning to 12 at night, and apart from minor fading it looked fine. I have dry skin, but this did not cling to dry patches of any kind.
I would repurchase this again!

This foundation is honestly my new HG product. It sits amazingly well on my skin and doesn’t feel like I’ve got anything on my face at all. I have the lightest shade 010 Nude Ivory which is a perfect match for my Neutral-Pink skin tone. It has a beautiful velvet/luminous-matte finish with a light-medium coverage which is great for my combination skin. I apply this with my fingers and it blends beautifully as long as you work with it fast because it set pretty quickly. It lasts well on me for a whole day but since I have an oily t-zone I always have to powder anyway throughout the day. For such an amazing foundation to be so cheap and affordable is almost too good to be true but this is seriously the best foundation I’ve come across so far. It looks beautiful in photos and in real life. I’ve tried plenty of foundations ranging from drugstore to expensive and this is by far the cheapest and best-performing foundation out of all of them. It beats my foundations such as MUFE mat velvet plus, Mac Face & Body, L’oreal True Match, Revlon Colorstay, Revlon Colorstay Whipped and many others. I would definitely purchase this again. 10/10

Being the certified foundation and makeup junkie, i have tried numerous foundations from drugstore to high-end. This has passed my standards and reached HG status. To begin with, i love the frosted bottle with a nice classy pump with cap. Packaging is not tacky. Texture is creamy thick but after blending it using either your finger, beauty blender or foundation brush it just sits nicely on your skin and evens out any discoloration. Despite that my skin is very oily, i love the dewy demi-matte it offers. It stays on your skin for about 6 hours without touch up. So if you want to achieve the full 12 hours, powder touch up is a big help. It is also very skin friendly like I am acne prone but no new bumps ever appeared when using this. My skin is not that sensitive so I definitely did not experience any tingling or itchy feeling when wearing this. Im NC 30 and 020 Rose Vanilla fits like a glove.
Quality is better than US-made and way better than China-made foundations. Europe has stricter standards so for face products I tend to trust Europe made. So this is a go to foundation and this is definitely a keeper to my collections.

I have been trying many foundations over the years.
From Bourgeois Healthy mix, to Channel and Lóreaal Truematch.
I am 36 but people think mostly i am 28.
I have dry skin, mostly dry patches under my eye area and on my cheeks.
My skin is beside this in a good condition.
I was recently planning to buy a MAC foundation, but saw lot of good stuff about Catrice foundations on internet, so i gave this a try!
And i must say: I LOVE it!
It is really a beautifull foundation.
It has a nice Matt finish with a flauwless Dewy effect.
It is very light but covers perfectly dark circles under my eyes.
The foundation somehow looks like just melting into your face and getting one with your skin. It doesnt show you are having a lot of makeup on. It looks very natural.
It lasts around 5 hours, thats the only not so great thing about it i guess.

This is a great foundation for very fair skin! I am very fair, with lights freckles, and it blends very well! I struggled for many many years to find something light (fair) enough, and after having used this for a few months, I am hooked.
I must say that I don’t use it on my nose (I don’t use anything there … my nose is very dry), but everywhere else it is just great.
For covering blemishes, I first apply this foundation, then cover with Catrice’s cover mousse, and finally finish it off with Catrice’s powder.
Great product. Great brand!

The quality for the price you pay it is really good, but compared to other products I’ve used, it’s average. I like that you feel it setting onto your face, but it’s not really “invisible”.

EDIT: Tried it over primer (Kiko City Filter) and got much better result! It went on very smooth, was practically undetectable and lasted a lot longer too. Now that I think of it, I remember it being mentioned in a Catrice booklet that I picked up from the stand that they recommend using it with their primer for best results. I thought they were just trying to push another product, but maybe it’s really meant to be used like that. In any case I’m glad I didn’t get rid of it, it might just be my new favorite.
Original review: Goes on well ONLY on recently exfoliated skin, immediately after moisturizer. Sets fast after application, I’d advise to apply in parts, otherwise can look streaky. When such conditions are met, it looks lovely fresh applied, medium coverage, nice glow without looking shiny. A few hours in however it starts to melt off, even when set with powder. And that’s in winter. In summer is a complete disaster. It’s not just extra shine that can be easily blotted, it’s full on mess with settling in lines and pores. To touch up you’d need to pat in back in place, then blot, then apply powder. The bottle is lovely, the price is good, that’s about it.

I’ve been using it for several days so far but must admit that it’s one of the best foundations I’ve lately tried (and counting all the free samples from Sephora, i must admit there were truly MANY-including some of the ‘Expensive Ones’).
My skin is combination with occasional acne, some redness on my cheeks and, therefore, i always need something slightly more substantial than sheer coverage but at the same time i want to look natural. This foundation offers a decent medium coverage yet it looks natural enough. I wouldn’t say it looks nude on me but my face looks healthy and homogenous:) Also, a pleasant surprise is that it doesn’t melt away too quickly. I own the lightest shade and while being quite light, it doesn’t appear to be unnatural. I would also dare say that it gives some luminosity to the skin. Will give it a few more days and then update
UPDATE: After having used it for a bit longer, i must confess that although i do still like it, it is everything but nude skin illusion for me. Good coverage, but if you are looking for a bare skin look, you should continue your search
