Temptu Pro has evolved its airbrush makeup applicators into a cordless, portable hand held device. I like the Perfect Canvas Hydra Lock formula for its advanced colored payoff semi matte finish. As a “Multicolor Makeup Artist Specialist” the shades run the skin tone spectrum. Beige is the most universally wearable shade.

I possess the Air Pod for over one week now. It is used daily by me so I can share my experience with you:
01. Packaging
It arrives in a box that is only a bit larger than the Air Pod itself. It includes the warranty card plus some other cards, for example for the USB.
Mine arrived with an adapter to charge it (American to European). It is well stored in the package, mine arrived in the best condition.
Of course you have to buy an Air Pod Pro + airbrush make-up or the ready-to-use-products in order to start using it.
This is a little disappointing since the machine itself costs about 200€. The ready-to-use products cost over 40€, the Air Pod Pro between 30-40€ and the airbrush colors over 16€. So basically you have to pay more in order to start using it which is a bit extreme for the price. That’s why it won’t get the full rating on the packaging.
02. Product
It is pretty light weight for the application. Black is always good for a noble, expensive product. The surface feels smooth and good for the price. You won’t slip away with your hand while using it. It will stand good on almost every surface when you put it aside.
Putting in the Air Pod Pro was not easy thanks to my rushed hands. But it worked in the end.
03. Does it work?
After following the instructions on the preparations of the make-up you are ready to start.
First light is for spot application aka like a concealer brush.
Second light is recommended for foundation, blushing and contouring aka like a medium sized brush.
Third light should be used for highlighter or body parts aka like a large sized brush.
I like to use the first light for:
– pimples/acne
– lips
– undereye
– eyelids
The second one I mainly use for:
– foundation
– blush
– contour
Third light:
– highlighter
– foundation (when I am in a rush)
– bronzing
– rest of my body.
You can practice and play with the settings to find your ideal use of each light. After using it for 6 days (I received it 7 days ago) I am able to get a flawless result in under 10 minutes (foundation + blush + contour + bronzer + highlighter + some setting powder).
Sometimes I see instant results in a few seconds and on some days it takes me minutes to achieve a visible coverage with alcohol based foundation though. But that depends on the formula you use. I use either silicone or alcohol based airbrush make-up.
So far I prefer silicone because it is easier to work with, it has a neutral fragrance and it makes my whole face look smooth.
I struggle with alcohol based foundation EVERY SINGLE TIME. I need to use way more than 8 drops to achieve a visible result. This costs me more time and I am annoyed by that. Plus it makes my dark, fine-lined undereyes look dry. I sent Temptu an email about that issue. If their answer can help me I will let you know it.
04. Cleaning
For alcohol based airbrush products: 99% isopropyl alcohol.
Silicone based products: their cleaner (I have no experience with it yet), a silicone based mixing medium or mixed distilled water with white vinegar.
Please have a look at the instructions at their YouTube channel. If you follow them, cleaning should be done in around five minutes.
If you used silicone based airbrush first and want to switch to alcohol based, you need to clean the Airpod Pro first to avoid clogging.
When you are done with your makeup, it is highly recommended to clean it, too.
05. The colors/make-up
I recommend you to go to a store which has the products to swatch. Or you rely on your luck and do a good research.
Besides the alcohol based foundation (got my silicone based foundation from a German manufacturer since it costs less money) I have some blush, highlighter, contour and bronzer products. My fav shades are Guava (blush), White Shimmer (highlighter) and Medium (contour). I like both bronzer shades (matte or shimmer) since it depends on my make-up look and mood which shade I will choose.
The silicone based products (Temptu and German manufacturer) lasts really well, I would say as long as the Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation. Even longer if you set it with a light(!) dust of powder. Without powder it lasts around 12-14 hours, with powder it lasts til you take it off. Amazing, isn’t it?
The alcohol based foundation doesn’t last long which is a shame. It is supposed to stay for up to five days under good conditions. Well, I had a relaxed shopping day. It was about 7° outside, inside the mall maybe around 19°. And at the end of the day my nose and chin showed that the foundation dissolved a little bit. It is not really visible when you look in a huge mirror from a good distance and not a close-up one. But the claim to last some days is not really true then, isn’t it?
06. Other things
Charging takes around two hours. All lights will start to blink if it’s time to load it. But you can use the Air Pod while charging. It has finished charging when all three lights are not blinking anymore. You can charge with any USB portal (computer, laptop, etc.).
07. Verdict
If you want/need a flawless HD-finish almost everyday and are willing to practice for a couple days (maybe you do everything right from the start, it depends on the user) then you can consider getting the Air Pod and the Air Pod Pro, plus make-up.
Why I recommend the Air Pod Pro?
You need to clean it, that’s correct, but only when you have finished your face.
The ready-to-use products contain only 12ml of product and you have to pay over 40€ for that. The Air Pod Pro costs around 30-40€, while you can get 30ml airbrush make-up bottles for about 20-40€. And that combination will last several months, not only two-three months.
Overall I am satisfied with my purchase and get compliments everytime. Some people don’t notice I have makeup on until I tell them. And that surprises them since they are used to that traditional, cakey result you get with most regular foundations.

Ok this product IS expensive but it has given me the closest to natural coverage I have ever seen! This is pretty incredible, when used properly with the right technique it gives the right coverage (buildable) and it looks flawless. I bought the foundation, blush and highlighter.

I was SO excited when I purchased this product. It took a bit of practice but I finally got it down. However it’s been 2 weeks since it came to my door and I am already COMPLETELY out! I don’t use a lot of it either. Just enough to cover my face and some of my neck. Absolutely rediculous. I feel like I wasted almost $300 for 2 weeks of makeup. Unacceptable.

I have been on this quest to find the best foundation for years. You name it, I have tried it (and paid a pretty penny for it !). Prior to being a TEMPTU junkie I was a MAC maniac. With that being said, even the MAC foundation wouldn’t last and sometimes made my skin break out. Not to mention it always looked like I was wearing makeup, no matter how hard I tried.
The TEMPTU, really does make you look flawless. It does take some practice and I cannot emphasize enough how important it is to hold it 4-6 inches from your face.
After my first application I was in awe. I couldn’t beleive it. I looked like I had NO makeup on and had PERFECT skin.
The only downside is that if you are a novice at makeup, I would recommend practicing at least 4-5 times. The blush can be a bit tricky.
The system itself is compact enough for travel and very easy to use.
I know it is pricey, and I honestly feel a little crazy owning my very own airbrush system. If you are contemplating buying this system, DO IT, They have a special TV offer which is perfect, try it for 30 days and if you aren’t head over heels return it 🙂
FYI. I have been on acutane and still struggle with adult acne and this system doesn’t make me break out and evens out my skin perfectly.

I guess it just takes perfecting your airbrush skills. Sometimes this product looks awesome on me and sometimes it doesn’t?? Could be that I need to go down in color on the pods due to not tanning.. I do love the fact that once it has set (even though it seems to take FOREVER) it doesn’t move… I can go to the gym AND just touch up with powder and it still looks pretty good. I also bought Dinair and I can’t seem to get that foundation to look good on me.. It dries my face out! I guess for dry skin, sticking with the silicone product is a better fit for me.. Can’t wait for them to come out with some different colors… AND, I can’t wait to try out the Invisible Finishing Powder.. 🙂

BEWARE OF ORDERING FROM TEMPTU.COM especially if it is OUTSIDE THE usa.
Since the Temptu airpod system is not available at Sephora anymore. I had to order from their website (temptu.com)
The price was $45 for the airpod, usually at Sephora, it was around $55, for a box with 2 airpods inside. I figured this is a better deal from the mother company, so I went ahead & place the order.
SURPRISE !!!
Instead of 2 airpods housed in one box, there is only 1 pod, and the bill should read $45 was printed $10 instead, if I am sending it back for refund, will I be refunded for $45 or $10.
This is a very twisted company policy that I don’t want to deal with anymore.
BTW, I emailed them with my concern, 5 days ago, no reply.

This is THE best foundation system you will EVER find. The foundation stays on ALL day, doesn’t make you break out and ensures that whatever blush/bronzer you have on stays put. You can sweat, workout, have a long day and this foundation has your makeup looking fresh the entire time. I was floored when I started using this stuff. Nothing compares to it on the planet. Tips & Tricks: concentrate the foundation “gun” at a lighter spray on zits to make them dissapear. Go in round motions when spraying on your face. Don’t have the “gun” on full blast when applying. Set foundation by ensuring it is dry first (use a hair dryer with a cool shot button if needed) and set with a translucent powder such as Bare Escentuals Mineral Veil.

*UPDATED 5 APRIL 2011 * : I have been using this more and more, and have come to like it quite a bit. But when I first got this, I had pneumonia and was coughing quite a bit. When I continued to cough almost two months afterwards, I thought nothing of it. Now I’m beginning to think it’s because of TEMPTU. On the days I’m not using it, I don’t have the chronic cough. I’m going to have to be more aware of how I’m breathing while applying this and see if it makes a difference.
…………………….
I have been debating this for awhile, and I still find myself going back and forth on whether I really like this system or not.
I have been using BareMinerals for six years, but during the winter the brushing and extra touching of the skin causes my face to get really oily. So, I thought maybe airbrushing would be a good thing – I wouldn’t be touching my skin as much.
Now even though I’m not brushing foundation on, I still have to do a lot of prepping before applying this foundation. I am fair, so any blemish sticks out on my skin like a beacon, and during the winter I tend to break out a bit.
It is possible to use this system to conceal blemishes. I find putting it on the middle setting and getting about an inch from the blemish, going in small circles with just a light touch, works. However, even the build-up seems to be a bit sheer, and I’m finding myself adding more coverage after I’m finished applying the foundation.
I love the finish. Your skin really does look great. But I’m thinking this system is really wonderful for those who have pretty clear skin, and are maybe just looking for something to even out skin tone or light scarring.
The only reason I’m not sending this back right now is because my skin is pretty clear during the summer, and I want to give it a shot then.

I am actually surprised that more makeup junkies haven’t raved about this. Although the system is definitely a pretty penny, the results are well-worth it! Plus, once you buy the system, the pods are only $55 for two, which is less than my other HG, MUFE foundation. If you are acne-prone, or stuck with the scars (like me), this will be your new HG! Although it will add another few minutes to your morning routine, the formula somehow covers all without looking like a full face. I go over this with a Sigma F80, and I am flawless. I have actually gotten complimented on my skin, which, underneath it, is far from perfect.
