Hands down the best gel eyeliner I ever tried.
– I have mine for a bit longer than a year and it hasn’t dried down;
– the color is perfect for those who like dark liners but find black looking too harsh. This is very dark neutral brown;
– perfect for cat-eye it stays in place and doesn’t transfer;
– once applied it quickly dries down and doesn’t bleed. Perfect for precise application;
– easily removed with water and will be disrupted if you accidentally rub your eyes.
Great product!

I won’t use any other gel brands.This is my absolute favorite eyeliner. I have a problem with other brands always ending up somewhere undesirable on my eyelid, even after they have dried. That does not happen with this eyeliner. I also like that no matter what brush I use — either pointed for a narrow line or flat for fatter line, it turns out perfect.

I got this in a holiday set (Xmas 2015) which contained Dipdown, Painterly Paint Pot, a nice dual ended brush, & False Lash black mascara. MAC is simply my favvvveeee brand of makeup & this eyeliner is just another reason why I lurve MAC so much! This serves double duty as in a pinch it can be either used as a liner (love this on the top lashline w Painterly & black mascara top lashes only…gr8 look for ppl w glasses! Just add face, brows & a neutral lip color) OR if I’m not using my MAC Fluidline Dirty Blonde I can use this for my brows. It’s a lovely eyeliner color medium matte neutral brown (not black-brown, not reddish, not copper, darker than a taupe/beige) just perf for every day when I’m not wearing my other HG (MAC Fluidline BlackTrack). I think wings look strange on me in brown so I just try to get as much of a tightline as possible on the top lash extended from inner lid to outer completely corner to corner. It is long lasting. I have oily NC15/20ish skin & this holds tight even thru naps & my oiliness. Do I dare say waterproof. It is expensive but so worth it! The glass jar is so luxe & I store it upside down tightly capped at all times when not in use. The best brown eyeliner I’ve come across!!

I finally found my Holy Grail of eyeliners! I held off on reviewing for a while so I could be sure, but this is definitely my eyeliner. DipDown is a nice rich brown that isn’t too black or too light. I can’t do jet black eyeliner. It’s just not for me.
This comes in a pot, yes, and you need to use a brush. This can be a downside for many people, and I’m not super keen on it, but for the performance of the product, I’ll deal with it. I hate, hate, hate trying to sharpen pencils and fit them where I need to fit them. I can control a brush and make it paint as fine a line as I’d like. A pencil usually ends up with a thick, globby, gross line.
So, I use a fine brush and tightline my upper lashline. It stays there and doesn’t migrate much at all. Any migration issues I have to lower waterline usually happen because I put too thick of a line on. (I’m heavy handed and rush. What can I say?) If I take my time, and don’t blink too much too soon, a cotton swab cleans up the excess and I’m done.
I have very oily skin, especially my eyelids. I put on UD Primer Potion beforehand, and I have zero problems. I haven’t had migration issues at all since I used it.
The formula glides easily, dries fairly quickly, smudges nicely where needed, and deposits a good amount of color with one swipe. I don’t need to keep reapplying coats to get color. One between my lashes, and one line above, connecting it all together. Then, I’m done.
This doesn’t slide, migrate, or smudge once it is on my skin, and even when I tear up, it doesn’t seem to melt or disappear too much… as long as you make sure that the skin you’re applying it to is dry in the first place. If you’re crying all the time or have teary eyes, it might migrate, but most eyeliners do.
This stays put all day and night. I never need to touch up the Fluidline. My foundation is usually a mess, but my eyeliner stays put. If only they made foundation that could stand up like this eyeliner does.
I’ve had this for about 8 months now. So far, the pot has held up well and hasn’t dried out. The last brand I tried, Bobbi Brown, dried up completely within 6 months. I was trying to Frankenstein it back to life with eye drops, and that worked for a while, but I got sick of it. I’m hoping this stays creamy for a while.
For around $16.50, this is a great bargain for prestige eyeliner. Drugstore pots are nearing the $10-12 mark, and Sephora’s house brand is $14. Other brands, such as the Bobbi Brown I USED to wear (that dried out miserably) cost around $25.

I looooveeeee this product. For my chocolate girls as a reference I am an nc50 in mac studio fix this will guarantee that your eyebrows look 101 per cent on fleek. For my lighter girls this will definitely look to harsh on you for eyebrow use but will look nice as the intended use which is an eyeliner. I was going to buy the infamous anastasia dipbrow pomade but I followed my mum to mac one day and a worker used this on me and I’ve been converted ever since. Using a small brush I use a real techniques brush by the way from the core collection I think it’s an eyeshadow brush but I use it to apply the pomade and oh my Lord my eyebrows look so natural. It’s very pigmented so a little goes a long way but it still looks natural you can still see the hairs on your brow so it doesn’t look like you tattooed them on which is amazing. Use this and shape with concealer and you will look so good. Also since a little goes a long way I don’t mind paying £15.50 cause I know it will last me a while. I will deffo repurchase I am in love with this it is an eyebrow essential for me I will never go back to using boring old pencil

I’ve tried three gel liners in my time, and you’d think they’d be similar enough, but no.
Bobbi Brown was too dry.
Inglot was too creamy.
MAC Fluidline was just right.
It walks the tightrope of being dry enough to not migrate, but creamy enough to spread. Once it sets, it’s good to go and does not budge, even in humidity. For someone like me (someone who wears contacts), this is really important because the last thing I need is this getting onto my lenses while I’m driving or doing something else where I can’t take them out. It also doesn’t irritate my eyes, which is an important detail.
My biggest complaint about this product is that it gets on pretty well for about two months before you have to go in and re-moisten it with contact lens solution or something else. When it gets dry, it does flake a little bit and becomes difficult to spread, which is the sign to add the drops. If you add one or two drops to it, cap it, and flip it over and let it set overnight, it’s as good as new, but it’s still somewhat annoying (though, to be expected); it’s an unfortunate side effect of using gel liners over pencil or liquid. However, it takes it fairly well and rejuvenates easily.
It is not as good of a deal for the product as the Inglot may be, but I find it’s much easier to work with and significantly less of a hassle. I bought mine in January and it’s still going strong here in June with about almost daily use. Consider me impressed!
I might try the Inglot again after this is up, but I definitely would not turn down MAC Fluidline if that doesn’t work and would happily use this product again.
Pros:
– Available in a variety of colors
– Not too dry, not too creamy
– Does not migrate to lids or upper brow bone, even in humidity
– Non-irritating to sensitive eyes
Cons:
– Dries out after two months
– Can flake when it starts to get dry
– Expensive per amount when compared to other brands

I love a product that I can use for more than one thing, and this beauty is one of them.
Its really good for making a strong and defined eyebrow, with a really skinny angled brush and then brushed out with a spoolie to soften.
Its also lovely for doing the waterline for a softer smokey look with out using black.
The formula can dry out easily if you don’t screw the lid back on really tight, and apparently storing it upside down helps. Its not the cheapest thing on the market, and I’m sure you’d find a cheaper alternative, but my eyebrows literally never budge with this on, perfect for a night out on the town.

I do love this eyeliner. I bought dip down as an alternative to black since it would look less harsh with my colouring. It is still a very very dark deep brown on the skin, applies lovely and sharp and clean, stays also. Very high colour pay off and very creamy, would not buy any other eyeliner

I love Dipdown! It seems like a boring color when you look at it, but is actually such a nice alternative to black – I have not used my black eye liners ever since I purchased Dipdown.
It is a rich muted brown color that has no shimmer ot glitter to it. Very matte, yet creamy in application. I like using my angled synthetic brush with it.
The color transfers beautifully and does not need layering for a good intensity. It also wears nicely all day long without smudging or budging. Love Mac fluidlines, they are great!
If you want to see Dipdown in action when applied on the eye, you can check it here. Hope it helps to give an idea.

Finally, a flat, deep-brown liner that doesn’t look black, isn’t too red, and applies easily! I’ve been on the hunt for an everyday brown liner (I don’t wear black) that’s more creamy than gel (I do not like Bobbi Brown’s Gel Liners). Looking through reviews, I found Dipdown highly recommended and decided to give it a try. Perfect! The texture is more cream than gel and so is (I find) easier to apply, it’s a perfect flat, slightly cool matte brown, it applies easily, and you can get a lighter application and totally different look by dampening the brush slightly with water or Fix+. I also love the sturdy glass packaging and wide-mouthed jar–I mist it lightly with water or Fix+ after each use and before closing the jar to keep it from drying out. This is a winner and will be a staple for me.
