I have this ‘no-budge’ retractable liner in black (the only colour available at the time I purchased it a few weeks ago). Can’t say I’m a fan. It’s a bit hard, not very pigmented, and difficult to get it to lay down colour – both on the waterline and lashline. Wear time (on the waterline – couldn’t get enough payoff on the lashline) was unimpressive. If you want intense black on the lashline, get the Milani Stay Put liner. On the waterline I prefer the Rimmel Exaggerate WP liners and the Essence Extreme Lasting liners. This e.l.f. one is being returned today.

FINALLY, a retractable pencil from e.l.f. that I can get behind! Spotted this at Target and decided to give it a shot, since it’s $3 and I didn’t really have anything to lose. I don’t know if this is new or not, but it’s new to me. I wanted something to replace their waterproof pencil, which stays on beautifully but is a pain to sharpen. This answered that call!
I find it stays on really well and doesn’t smudge throughout the day, but if I want it to look smoked out, I can easily smudge it upon application. Once it sets, it’s there until I remove it. I even love tightlining with it, because it doesn’t transfer to my lower water line. It’s creamy and easy to apply.
The packaging is great. The product retracts easily, and the packaging is a very slim tube that feels sturdy. I carry this in my bag every day.
There’s really nothing bad I can say about this liner! I think I’ve found my HG pencil liner!
