   EmilyNoel83 is one of my favorite “OG” YouTubers, and so naturally I was interested when she finally did a collab product. I picked up my Wants palette from Ulta when it first launched. I should say I’ve had no issues at all with my palette. The packaging is nice quality – a heavy plastic palette with a massive mirror. The shadows themselves are a nice formulation. No, they aren’t crazy buttery soft pigmented like Lorac or old school Wet n Wild. They are more similar to MAC shadow texture – slightly drier, pigmented, buildable & blendable. I’m in my 40s and I work in a conservative office, so for me, this formulation is perfect. The shadows are also similar in size to MAC pans. There’s a nice color spectrum of shadows for a wide variety of looks. I think this is a nice palette, it’s an excellent bargain, and if you’re a fan of Emily, it’s a must have.

   The colour story for The Wants palette is popular Youtuber EmilyNoel83 recreating some of her favourite shades from discontinued eyeshadow palettes in her personal collection – she has mentioned that the Too Faced Romantic Eye palette is one of the inspirational pieces in a YouTube video, but I don’t recall her mentioning any of the others. The shades she chose for the palette are; The Cream [white cream, matte finish], Hobby [light brown, matte f0inish], Prayer [sepia brown, matte finish], Grateful [lime green, shimmer finish], Good Vibes [rich copper, shimmer finish], Side Hustle [khaki green with a gold shift, shimmer finish], Midwest [light tan, matte finish], Dues Paid [red brick, matte finish], Eve Rose [light lilac with a gold shift, satin finish], Belle Violet [lavender, shimmer finish], Capricorn [mocha brown, satin finish], Pi Phi [plum purple, matte finish], Oh Heavens! [beige cream, satin finish], Love Tons [magenta, matte finish], Pizzazz [maroon purple, shimmer finish], Family [deep purple, matte finish], Top Story [gold, shimmer finish], Apartment [wood brown, matte finish], Cupcake [peach, satin finish], Laughcry [blood orange, matte finish], Cheer [maroon, matte finish], Heartbeat [chestnut, shimmer finish], Corduroy [emerald green, matte finish] and Dark & Early [black, matte finish].

   The shadow quality is very impressive – a shade range that includes purples, reds, pink, corals and dark green, without any dryness?! The duo chromes are much nicer then the regular Revolution formula [Soph X, Beauty Legacy & Imogenation], so an extra well done for that.
   The most important thing to remember here is that the shadows were purposefully formulated to be buildable as she didn’t want to overwhelm anyone with strong pigment, so one layer of them applied to the eyes won’t be the same as the shade in the pan [two layers will do it – three for Dark & Early], which I personally prefer as I like being in control of how deep to take the shades, as I have to be in the ‘mood’ when it comes to deep shades. If you’re not that keen on working with shadows that aren’t of the “one swipe and go” variety, then this palette might not be for you. I’ve used every shade in the palette over the past several months and haven’t had any issues with any of them performance-wise.
   Also; my palette has no odor – I know that a few palettes in Ulta’s first batch had formulation problems resulting in them being pulled from the shelves and destroyed like what was meant to happen with the first release of Morphe’s The Vault collection. If you still have a palette with issues, then go and get it exchanged for a new one.

   Pizzazz and Heartbeat aren’t very dissimilar on the eyes – I do love berry shades, but it is a bit of a waste of space.
   I’m just not that keen on larger palettes as regular ‘everyday’ releases as a too-large shade selection is overwhelming and larger palettes aren’t practical for handling & storage, so I personally would have liked her to skip either Pizzazz or Heartbeat, as well as the shades most similar to the ones in her The Needs eye & face palette [The Cream, Prayer, Midwest, Apartment and Laughcry], to trim the palette size down a bit – but this niggle depends on how many palettes you own, and if The Needs is among them.

   The palette layout is very cool as it make’s it very easy to create looks using shade combos that you might not have considered before [look at the pans as being a Connect Four board & make diagonal, vertical or horizontal lines]. I’m overall very impressed with The Wants; the quality and presentation of the shadows is fantastic for such a low price and the actual palette is a nice quality too. I do have a few niggles with it, but I really enjoy the shades regardless and recommend the palette.
   I think that the layout combined with the buildable nature of the shadows means that The Wants is especially good for those who are beginning to experiment with using more colour in their looks and/or works in a office or other type of conservative setting. I also think that this palette will make a great gift for someone who is just starting out in makeup.

   I love the big mirror and the packaging. I generally like the mats with a synthetic precise brush to pack them up and then usually blend well. However I dislike most of the shimmers. I find Side Hustle goes gray on me, Grateful is very hard to pack on, Belle Violet is patchy , as is Side Hustle. The shimmers really don’t have full coverage, and I personally prefer them to be. However I love the shade selection and the names. The deep colors are good as eyeliners but patchy on all the lid. overall it is a pretty palette, but I would prefer to depot the shades that do work for me instead of having a full palette with 2 shades I don’t like, and 3 shades that don’t work for me.

   Love this palette! I saw the green shades on YT’s @thataylaa and the color was amazing! The green tones was what made me buy this–gorgeous colors. There’s a nice range of shades from light to dark, matte to metallic, and a bunch of different colors that all work together. They’re not highly pigmented on the eye so if that’s ur jam, u need to work harder w this one or choose a diff brand bc these go on lightly. You can build them but not to extreme. If you use Korean makeup you’ll be happy w how they apply more sheer. The palette is actual plastic with a mirror. The whole thing is very upscale and better than any other palette I have as far as quality. The one major huge downside is the smell. They smell like Halloween makeup–like fake and weird. Disturbingly so. I don’t know if it’s bc there aren’t any masking things in the formula or if it’s cheap chemically powders, but the smell is def funky and disturbing. However I love the way these look so I just deal…can’t guarantee they’re made from safe stuff tho. There’s a fair bit of fallout bc the shadows are so soft but that’s fine bc they go on so smooth and blend well. Overall my new fave palette, just a little disturbed by how funky it smells.
