I watched and read loads of glowing reviews before biting the bullet and getting the Stars In Your Eyes palette and ultimately wish that I hadn’t bothered, in all honesty. There’s no real point in having such a pretty colour story [3 rose quartz-inspired shades “to reflect the stone of unconditional love”, 3 sun-lit amber shades “inspired by one of the world’s most coveted treasures”, 3 golden shades “for a glimmering, molten, mesmeric eye look to take on the world” & 3 topaz-ruby inspired shades “symbolising fire, heat and purity to empower the wearer with the bold burgundy hues”]; all of the mattes are so soft in formula that they all blend into each other and the shimmers are so muted that they look the same applied wet or dry, so there are only four noticeably different shades in the entire palette. I’ve tried using the shadows in the trios they’ve been set in [The Love Look,The Happy Look, The Power Look & The Confidence Look] = it looks like a one or two shadow look every time. I’ve mixed and matched shades from different ‘sets’ together = still looks like a two shadow look, even with 5 or 6 shades to try to build up depth and definition. I use primer that works well with my other shadows and good-quality brushes, and I’ll edit the review if I stumble across something that makes the shadows perform better.
This is the most expensive palette that I own and I don’t think that the quality is good enough for the price for more creative types of makeup wearer, as the shadows just melt together for a very limited amount of looks that can be achieved. The only store anywhere close to me that stocks Charlotte Tilsbury had sold out of the palette and couldn’t order any more as it’s limited edition, so I had to go back home and order it online without getting to see it in person and now that I’ve opened and tried it I can’t return it, otherwise I’d have sent it back. I won’t mark it too low as the shadows apply and wear well, so I can see that if you enjoy very soft looks how you’d enjoy this, but I’d still advise a cheaper alternative like ColourPop’s Disney Princess or Fortune palette for a greater variety of achievable looks – heck, I can even suggest the likes of ABH Soft Glam, Urban Decay Naked Cherry, KvD Lolita, Violet Voss HG & the Huda Beauty New Nudes palette as being cheaper alternatives. All in all, the Stars In Your Eyes is a palette that you can easily skip.

This is an amazing product. Love the colour and texture also. Packaging is also beautiful.

I am a hardcore Tilbury fan, so I got this within the first 5 minutes of pre-sale. I test products very thoroughly, however, and this is not a biased review. So here goes:
What is this palette?
It is what ABH’s Soft Glam would like to be, but is not. An offering of twelve warm-ish, soft glam shadows for a wide variety of looks, ranging from flattering soft naturals to sophisticated but sexy, nighttime smokey. All colours are golden, pink, taupe and purple hues.
What are the shadows like?
Superb. Unlike the previous version of this 12-pan palette, this is Tilbury classics done best. Pigmented, buildable buttery mattes and refined glitters. Very flattering colours (I always insist that this is where the genius of Tilbury shadows lies, they simply make you prettier). And they are very long-lasting, unlike ABH. They survive work, the gym and the commute home, not an easy feat.
How do you use them?
This is where I got a little confused. Her quads and Instant Looks palettes are arranged in such a way that you basically paint by numbers and they are indeed fantastically combined. Keeping this in mind, I took several days to follow the proposed combinations and all four looks were ok – but a bit meh. This is not what I paid 75 euros for, I thought. Then, I painted outside the numbers. I improvised according to what I felt would give my eyes enough depth (three shadows for my middle-aged eyes is not very impressive). And it is MAGIC. I’ve adored these ever since. I get compliments for looking fresher, prettier. The only thing that’s changed is this palette, so yey Charlotte.
What about the packaging?
I don’t particularly pay attention to that if the product is good but I do appreciate the very sturdy outer shell and its magnetic close. I would be super-peeved if this opened in my travel bag. Also, I travelled with it recently and easily managed to do my full face in its mirror. It reclines steadily: very useful.
Any unexpected benefits or drawbacks?
It is worth noting that my make-up time in the mornings is A LOT less- as in half. These basically blend themselves. Makeup sorcery. No drawbacks, apart from the price. Hence the four stars.
Can you live without this?
Yes. This is expensive and not groundbreaking, let us be honest. If you want to invest in a superb (I repeat myself but it’s the only word for it) warmer-leaning basics palette, this is the one to get. No doubt. Order it now. But if you are hard-pressed to justify this for your budget, don’t buy it. Go and get the Wet’n’Wild Color Icon palettes, they are a legitimate alternative to any high-end palette. I promise you’ll love them.
