I love the colors, in theory — it’s a pretty mix of pale and mid-tone purples, with a couple greens, and a nude and a kind of taupe. It does work well for my green eyes. The colors don’t have a lot of impact, though. Applying them wet works better. If you want a subtle enhancement, these are good. If you want to see more oomph, pass this up. Also, if you want a lot of shimmer, this lives up to its name. The lighter shades shimmer so much that it’s more like applying a pale off-white shadow that leans a tiny bit green or lilac, depending.
I lucked out in finding this for $4 at TJ Maxx so I got an excellent deal on it, and it’s well worth it at that price. I’m preferring swirling the purples together for my eyelids, or playing with the greens a bit, or using the darker colors as liners (painted on wet). The darker colors I definitely prefer, especially the golden brown and the olive green. Those work the best for me.
When I want more pigment, however, I prefer something else.
I’m not sure this is worth the $12 or whatever it costs normally, but for $4 it’s a good deal.

My reaction to this is very meh. At first, I bought it on my school campus (and I don’t live there) so my first test of this was basically sticking my fingers in the colors in the womens bathroom before I went to class. It was $7 off all the phys formula stuff at that CVS and I wouldn’t get it unless they were doing that deal at your CVS because it’s most definitely not worth $10. I like the colors, I like how they coordinate, yesterday I did the darker green, with the darkest liner color in my crease and the skin type color above the green as my highlight and today I’m using the purples. the main problem is that the colors are so skinny! I can hardly get my brushes in them, especially my crease brush! I stick my brush in there and it comes back with three different colors. also, as others have said they are rather chalky and not terribly pigmented. I wouldn’t repurchase when it runs out.

I’ve been using the same 4 earth tones for the last 30 years. Yes, rather pathetic. I wanted to try a pinky-purpley-plum look, so I bought the set for green eyes. Imagine my shock when I got home and did a search of what colors of eyeshadow look good with hazel eyes – bingo, this set has them all! I love the colors and how they wear – no creasing and no irritation. But someone needs to speak sternly to the idiot who designed the custom applicator. It digs up hunks of the colors, which is a waste. Slightly better with the applicator wet. I plan to find an eyeshadow brush or a different sponge applicator so that I don’t make such a mess of my compact.

I love the colors in this and how you can go neutral or dramatic and the colors go very well together, they look great on my brown eyes. I like to use the dark green as a lid color and blend it out with the lighter one add black eyeliner and it really makes my brown eyes pop, yeah I tend to favor the dramatic. I also like how you can mix the colors together in the strip (I remember not liking it before), but I still think the packaging isn’t good its kind of chunky plus it’s a little expensive for drugstore makeup.

poor quality eyeshaodows! it is chalky and not pigmented at all. i could barely had any color payoff with these eyeshadow. it is very shimmery in the pan but looks rather muddy on the lid. smells like paint!

I love the colors of this palette …but they are just way too shimmery. I know it says that their shimmer shadows , but these are REALLY shimmery …more so than Maybelline .Worst of all is , when I apply them wet as eyeliner ..they don’t last …as I have found now with all of their products…I don’t know what it is…maybe my skin is too oily for their products. I have combination skin..but maybe my eyelids are too oily …I’ve used shadow primer with these shadows- I’ve powdered ,etc.-and they crease and totally disappear within an hour…argh.Too expensive also…this was 9.97 @ Ulta.

Pleasantly surprised! I grabbed this off the shelf at my local drugstore in a rush before a night out when I realized I needed some green & purple tones for the makeup look I was trying to achieve.
I was shocked by how much pigment each color has. I hate that 3 of the colors are soooo tiny – it makes reaching them with a brush pretty difficult, but not impossible.
Anyway, I’m not going to dissect the product too much because it’s so cheap. Even if I didn’t like it, I wouldn’t bother returning it to get my money back probably.
Luckily, I did like it, and felt compelled to come on here and review it, because normally I NEVER use a drugstore brand for eyeshadow. Eyeshadow is so tricky, and I find it’s usually necessary to go with the more expensive brands to find a shadow range that will deliver. But this one from Physicians Formula left me quite satisfied, actually. I was rather surprised by how much I liked it. All of the colors are beautiful, and they last forever when I use them over my Urban Decay Primer Potion. They blend pretty well, too. Like I said, they have great pigment quality. They’re all shimmery (hence the name “Shimmer Strips”, duh), so you matte-shadow lovers won’t like this. But I’ve been using the palette every day for about 2 weeks now, and I really enjoy it. Especially because it didn’t break the bank. The shadows are a bit dry, though, so be careful that you don’t apply too much if you have dry lids, because this may cause them to appear “crepe-y”.
I like it! I’d buy it again.

This product is ok. I bought it at priceline when they were having a physicians formula 50 off sale. This still came to $12 which is pretty normal for Australia. Im asian and i have brown eyes but i likes the colours so much I wanted to try it. I heard good reviews on emilynoel83 so i thought i dont have alot of green or purples so i gotta buy it.
I like this product when i want a natural look with a bit of shimmer. As the other reviewers have stated its not as pigmented as some high end brands. Its not as pigmented as wet n wild and its harder in texture and not creamy or buttery smooth, infact its quite compacted and hard. But in saying this when you rub your brush over it, it still picks up a decent amount of color.
Still I like it, I can work with it because you build the colours up. Sometimes this isnt a bad thing! I have the wet n wild and the dark colors are so pigmented i have to be super careful when in applying them. This you can’t go wrong, because if you want dramatic and and darker you got to build it up.
The only bad thing i can say is that the colors are all too similar to each other. The are like 2 light greens and 2 light pinks and 2 light purples. I dont know they should have thought better and incorporated some different colors into the pallette as well. I also think the eyeshadows pans are too small. Why couldnt they all be the same size?? its annoying because my crease brush is too fat for the dark colours!!
the packaging is cheap but sturdy and a little hard to open!
Anyway thats my rant, but overall i like this product, you can do some really nice everyday neutral looks, but you can glam it up. I just takes some work. I suggest wetting the shadow and they come out more intense. Staying power is decent enough but i recommend primer. I woulndt buy this again because i have so many palettes i dont think i would run out, plus i always like to try out new brands.
UPDATE 18/5/2011: i love love love the light pink color in ttis palette.. it goes on like a dream and it goes so well with any of the other darker colours in the crease!. The light pink just makes my asian eyes pop and its funny i never thought i could get away with such a colour!

So…I loved the new blush so much, I had to try the newest shimmer shadows for green eyes. Big mistake! I could not believe how rancid they smelled upon opening the package! How can something that is supposed to be brand new on the shelf smell so awful? I won’t even try to put this on my eyes! I did do a swipe of one of my favorite colors to see if I liked it, and if I wanted to try to exchange it for a better one that did not smell, but I think the colors have way too much shimmer, and the one dark one I did swipe took several swipes on my wrist to even show a color! So for me, this one is a big disappointment. It goes back to the store for the rancid smell if for no other reason!
