I have this in ‘Cocoa Mauve’ and I think it is a lovely collection of colours. I really enjoy the formulation of these shadows which are very silky and easily blendable – last all day, too. I use three out of the four colours, including a pretty champagne shadow and soft browns. These are great neutral colours that don’t look muddy or too earthy. I only wish there was one matte shadow in this quad as they are all shimmer.

I bought the cocoa and taupe quads and liked both of them, though I’m currently not using all the colors in them. The colors I used seem to have a touch of shimmer, which I like (they don’t seem to be flat matte). They stay on very well and don’t irritate my eyes as some other drugstore makeup does. I will be trying other Neutrogena quads.

Horrendous quality. There is no pigment to these. I bought the mink and the cocoa and the mid-brown colors don’t show up at all which is a shame because they look so lovely in the pan. The light colors I will at least be able to use as shades to help me blend. I tried using a makeup brush, the applicator provided, a q-tip and my fingers and really caking it on and still can’t get decent color from these, just a very light muddy smudge.

I purchased this in Mink Brown 50, hoping that this version of “primer + shadow” would be as good as Revlon’s short-lived but wonderful graffiti eyeshadow sets were. Short story: it was not.
The small case itself was nice looking, with a decent applicator as far as the little sponge-tipped things go (though the handle was short to accommodate a bigger sponge tip on one end) with a big side and a narrow, skinny side. The price is a little high at $9.99 for ds, but that’s not uncommon for this brand.
The texture of the shadow is nice. Smooth and not gritty, it blends easily and feels soft but without creating fallout. In the compact, the colors look like a lovely range of neutral, natural browns. However, the pigmentation is seriously lacking. Even the darkest shade in this quad barely showed up. These shadows are the opposite of rich in color. I will say that what little color there was that showed up stuck around for a good 5 hours before fading away, so the + primer probably does help with that.
If you want a barely there look, this will be fine for you, but if you want to appear as though you have any eyeshadow on at all, pass this one up.
