This appears too samey-samey on me. The texture is good v blendable like all Shi colours. But this is a disadvantage with this very tonal colour combo. It just blends into one basically. Also a bit too pale/frosty on me (reads as frosty though it really isn’t). Unflattering on me. Creme Caramel by Annabelle is miles cheaper than this and gives the same effect this one is meant to. However the Creme Caramel is better suited to my skintone.

I have been watching this since it came out trying to test it. I am either steered to something else or there is some other excuse why I can’t try it. I finally bought it online without testing. I love it. Its subtle but it brightens up the eye area. A beautiful trio.

This is just a really nice everyday trio that offers a little bit of glow but not sparkle. makes me look like I got good rest and is always appropriate for work, etc. It is foolproof in terms of creating a nice finished eye.

What a beauty. When I saw it first I was a bit sceptical as the colors were all very neutral and kind of transparent. BUT I felt in love with them after the first day wearing them. This is the real nude trio that creates a very soft, innocent and natural look. You wont get enough of these. The packaging is cute, the brush included very good quality and the highlighter can be used on cheek bones as well. Thats a nice bonus. They last all day and it is a dream to work with them. Satin feel and nicely blendable. Love them and will ďefinitely repurchase.

I bought this in a blog sale hoping the middle shade would be a dupe for NARS’ Nepal. But these are so sheer that it doesn’t really compare. At first I was disappointed but I’ve grown to really like this set. It’s almost like a contouring kit for eyes. All three colors together create a really nice, subtle shimmery glow, as close as I can get to Olivia Pope eyes. The taupe is too cool for me to use all over but works well as a crease shade. The texture is extremely buttery. The included brush is even better than average.

I love this trio, but I also have some issues with it. For me it is a bit of a workhorse – it goes with every other eyeshadow I own, I wear at least one of the shadows every day, etc etc. The three shades are beautifully silky and pigmented, yet sheer enough to not be chalky or patchy when applied. They are so easy to wear, but do give a very sheer, nude look rather than some of the more dramatic trios that are also available from Shiseido. Sometimes it’s hard to tell if I am actually wearing eyeshadow as the colors do blend seamlessly into my skin. For reference I have NC15 skin, neutral to warm undertones.
The darkest color of the three, the taupe on the left, shows up pretty well on my lids without being too dark. It does have a little shimmer to it but nothing that is immediately apparent when you apply it. I have deep set eyes, and dark colored shadows will often make me look tired or older than I am. This taupe is quite nice as a base for other colors, or worn by itself with a brown liner. I do like to apply the palest color of the trio, the cream/ivory shade, over the top to give the taupe more dimension. This ivory color can be worn as a highlighter or all over the lid as a sheer wash, it has some gold shimmer in it which catches the light beautifully. The middle shade, a pale pink/peach is very similar to MAC’s A Natural Flirt eyeshadow but less shimmery and dimensional. I thought this color would make me look sick, or make my eyes look red, but it is actually quite flattering and pretty when worn on its own.
All three shadow shades are wearable in a classic, basic made-up eye kind of way, just not dramatic, colorful or eye-color-enhancing. I do like to have a darker liner color in any eyeshadow trio as it makes application time quicker and easier too. But because of the pale colors in this trio there is no liner shade, meaning I have to dig out a liner from my quite extensive stash. I don’t mind doing this but I would prefer everything in one palette.
I am not sure whether I would buy this again. Yes the colors go with everything and look great with countless other shades, but they are very basic and barely visible when worn alone. There is nothing particularly unique about any of the colors, you can find similar ones in almost any makeup range, but the quality far surpasses most other brands. This is not a trio that makes you think ‘wow’ when you see it. In fact I think it is bordering on boring (and I hate to say that!)
This trio would be great for someone who doesn’t wear much makeup, or doesn’t like to look like they are wearing much makeup. It gives a groomed appearance without looking like you have spent a long time doing your eyes. But although I am on the fence about it, I do still reach for this a lot whether doing a dramatic eye or on more casual days. I think I will be able to tell if this is a HG when I finish it, and miss the silky feel and slight shimmer in all the colors. Right now it’s very usable and wearable but not something I would buy backups of.
