When I first bought this palette I thought I’m going to use it more than any other palette I own.I thought if I had to travel with only one palette,I’d choose this one as it has so much useful, neutral shades, both warm and cool toned, both shimmery and matte but I was wrong.I haven’t used it more than a few times in a year.this is one of my least favorite eye shadow palettes but still I believe it deserves 3.5 lippies(I had to give it 4 as 3.5 wasn’t possible) because:
Pros:
✔It has a great packaging.it’s both sturdy and luxurious.I’d prefer a more slick one as this frusted palettes get dirty very fast but it can be cleaned by a wet wipe
Iove that it has a good-size mirror and a high quality dual brush(not as good as ABH MR brush, still a very good one),I like that there’s a guide behind it’s cardboard packaging(even though it’s so tiny that I can’t read the writings)
✔it has 14 useful colors from nudes to darks.there’s no wired, difficult to find a way to use shades in this palette.most people can easily pull them out.one can make a complete look using this palette.they’re versatile as one can use them for a daily/office makeup, also for a smokey/night out look
✔it has 7 matte shadows and 7 shimmers so can satisfy both groups of matte lovers and shimmer lovers
✔eye shadow pans come in a decent size, they’re not tiny like some others(I’m looking at you dear Thebalms)
✔eye shadows have decent pigmentation and blendablity.not as good as some other palettes, still can be grouped among good ones.there’s not too much kick back
✔it can be a multi purpose palette.one of the shades can make a great powder contour if you have fair-light skin.it also has a shade which can be used as bronzer.call me crazy but it’s brown and dark taupe can make nice eyebrow powders and I have used the lightest shimmer as a highlighter when I didn’t have my Marylou Manizer around!
Cons
✔it’s really expensive.I bought it for 75$
✔eye shadows are almost dry.maybe some people don’t care or even prefer dry textures(because dry ones usually have less kick back) but I really don’t like working with dry eye shadows.I like buttery, soft formulas like Moderan Renaissance
✔shimmery ones(which are mostly glittery not shimmery IMHO) have a lot of fall out.glitters enter my eyes so I can’t wear contact lenses while using this eyeshadow..I hate when glitters end up on my cheeks and under eyes
✔even though it has versatile shades, they’re kind of boring.it could be more fun and dramatic just by replacing 3 or 4 of them with different shades.for example I’d like it much better if it had a matte mauve and a shimmer rose gold or a bright pearl-pink.it’s a personal taste as I prefer pink undertone shadows to brownish ones
All in all it’s not bad, just I think it doesn’t worth it’s hefty price tag by any means.I more use it for it’s contour shade

There are great colors, and the shimmers are super pigmented. They crease a teeny bit, but i blend it with my finger a bit and it’s fine. It is pricey, but worth it, and the brush that comes with it is good quality.

I only just recently realized that I really like this. I bought it last fall when I started esthtician school and wanted to build mt collexction/try new brands and I really didn’t like it. I’m not sure why, I just didn’t. Fast forward to now, it was sitting in a bin where I keep a lot of makeup I use everyday and I decided to try it. My everyday look is cream shimmer on the brow bone, matte cream on the lid and a light brown in the crease. I used the cream on the browbone and mixed a little of the grey-ish brown and regular light brown and fell in love! Great mattes, I would definitely buy more matte shadows from smashbox. This really is a beautiful palette, I love neutrals and the shimmers are just gorgeous. I have not used them recently but definitely plan to in the near future. I also like the double ended brush this comes with and the packaging is nice and thick. I do think that $52 is a lot for this palette, probably overpriced, but I really do like it and if I ran out I would buy again.

This was my first “big girl” palette. I am a little late to the party at 30 years old, but don’t judge me. I loved the row of matte and the row of glitter. To be fair, I do like the matte shades, but I just can’t get along with the glitter. Which is a shame, because they are beautiful colors. And so versatile! Once I learned to navigate eyeshadow a little better, I decided to buy another palette. That is when I stopped liking this palette. I had no idea that eyeshadow could be so much easier!
The glitter shades have horrible fallout. I do my face after my eyes anyway, but this palette it the only palette that I have that I actually have to wash my cheeks before applying foundation. The longevity of the mattes is good and I haven’t had problems blending them. I like the packaging. I like that it has both warm and cool tones in it. The glitter is a bit better if you use setting spray onto the brush, but I still make a mess. Perhaps it’s just because I am still a newbie. There are ways to get stunning looks with this palette with patience. I am going to continue to try to fight the glitter battle and see if I can’t figure out a way to make the top left work for me because it’s gorgeous!
UPDATE: after getting other eye shadow palettes I have decided to try to return this. I initially liked the matte shades (and they aren’t terrible, to be fair) but after owning different brands, I like their mattes better too.

This was my first proper eye shadow palette, and I’ve loved it since its first use. The palette itself contains cool and warm matte and shimmer shades, and comes with a Smashbox eyeshadow brush and a good-sized mirror. It also comes with a guide on how to do your eye makeup depending on your eye shape, which as a beginner at the time, I felt was very useful. My palette came with a mini Full Exposure mascara too (which was pretty nice, if you’re going for a natural, defined look).
The eye shadows themselves are more dry than creamy and have decent pigmentation, but they are easily buildable and blend really nicely. I’ve had no problem with fall out from the matte shades, but the shimmer shades, like most, have a bit of fall out. The golden shimmery shades are actually more glittery than shimmery, apart from the one in the centre which has a finer sheen than all the rest. This is probably my favourite shimmer shade, and it looks amazing in the centre of the lid or in the inner corner.
In terms of wear, I don’t find that the colours fade throughout the day even without a primer, but without a primer they will crease because I have slightly hooded eyes. The glittery shades can also end up along my cheeks if I’ve worn it for a really long time. but otherwise the lasting power of these eyeshadows are pretty good.
The brush that it comes with is also brilliant. It’s dual-ended, and one end is for mattes and one end is for shimmers. If I had to pick one eyeshadow brush out of my collection, it would be this one, because it is just that versatile.

I quite like this eyeshadow, especially when I use it with the included primer. Lasts all day on my oily lids. Sufficient pigment for my needs, but I can see how others who want a darker look might not like it.

I wanted to love this because of the beautiful sparkly color’s..I was really disappointed. The sparkles end up in my eye’s, and all over my face. Unfortunately, the shadows made my eye’s water, and itch aswell. I might add I don’t tend to be sensitive to eye make up in general, so for those of you who are sensitive BEWARE..

If you have a look at the video that I created for you guys then you’ll see what I think about the palette + I wanted to share a short eye makeup tutorial as well where I used the palette. The eye makeup look in the video should show you how the shadows perform plus it also should give you an idea of what you could create. Of course, there are so many eye makeup looks ideas that you could create with it mine isn’t the only option 😉
It’s a clear and honest review of the Smashbox Full Exposure palette that I wanted to share with you how I personally feel about the palette.

Amazing pallet would totally buy again I think the pigments are amazing and the glitter is it blend in nicely with the mattes I do you find that the letters are popping and good to work with and I don’t find any fall out

This was the first eye shadow palette i’ve ever bought because i was told it was a great for beginners. I bought this smash box product for $130 so I was expecting great results and the appearances and swatches were beautiful, they have your every day matte neutrals and stunning shimmers that can dress up any eye shadow look.
Unfortunately I found this palette a let down as it was very hard to blend, and the shades not being as pigmented on the eye in comparison to swatches. To show true effect of the shimmers you have to layer on the lid with a wet finger/brush, and unfortunately I did find the shimmers almost too glittery as well as having fall out, which to be fair is common in most palettes. If you are a beginner I would say the matte shades are good because you can build up the pigment, but then again hard to blend once you do. The darker shades are more pigmented, for example the black and dark brown as expected.
I have gone back to this palette multiple times hoping for a better result each time, unlike my chi chi palette which im always so impressed with, also being a third of the price.

I almost didn’t buy this palette because I had just returned the Tarte Tartlette (Amazonian Clay) palette after a huge disappointment, and didn’t want to exchange it for another dud. No kidding, I was literally reading through reviews here on MA as I paced around Sephora, and I couldn’t ignore its lukewarm rating. There were other palettes I had my eye on, too, but I kept feeling myself drawn back to this one. I think what attracted me was the two very different looks I could achieve with it; the cool greys and the neutral browns, and the shimmer shades looked gorgeous. It reminded me of having Charlotte Tillbury’s Rock Chick palette and her Golden Goddess palettes in one! I swatched every color and was satisfied with them so decided to take the plunge. I am really enjoying this palette and find myself reaching for it every day. I agree that they’re not quite as pigmented as they first seem, but I will say they are easy to build up and it helps that they’re super blendable. The colors themselves are stunning and I find I get more compliments when I wear these shadows over any other palette I own. So, soooo glad I decided to go with it. I would definitely buy again!
(I’ve uploaded two pics showing the greys/black and the browns w/ metallic)

so this palette, i bought it in 2013 i think, when it first got released and was $48, loved the neutral colors, equal mattes and shimmer shades, thought it was better than urban decay’s naked.
used it, had ton of fall out with not much pigment, put it away and then forgot about it for a few years
brought it back out now while trying to clean out my makeup storage, decided to give this another try,
its ok not blowing my mind away or anything.
mainly used it to set my eyeliners.
there are so many versatile shades available, im using some of the shimmer shades as a highlight, the darkest brown shades to contour, and the matte cream to sort of set under eye/brow bone highlight, as well as eyebrow powder,
basically everything but an actual eyeshadow palette

I can’t believe so many people diss this palette – it’s a contender for my HG Palette!
I own A LOT of make up, mainly high end, so I have a good idea about what’s on the market and how good and bad eyeshadows perform. I LOVE this palette, by contrast I don’t like the Lorac Pro Palette, which I also own.
I love the selection of matte shadows, which have a great formula and blend easily (and are also easily custom mixed, if you want an in-between shade). I adore the sparkle shades, especially the light ones – with these if you want a more intense colour/sparkle pay-off, then just apply with your fingers.
Whenever I travel this is the palette I pack, as it is seriously versatile and there isn’t a colour in it that I haven’t used. If you don’t like sparkly/glitter shades then this probably isn’t the palette for you, but even so, the matte shades are still awesome!
mercifulCaribou9
I love the colors in this palette. It is separated into mattes and shimmer. The variety means it is great for work and play. Personally, I think the colors on the palette are better than any other palette I own. I have a neutral skin tone, and the colors suit me. I suspect the palette leans slightly towards a cooler skin tone (rather than warm, like Urban Decay’s NAKED).
Problems include: poor pigmentation (even with multiple swipes, and primer); chalky consistency; fallout, especially with the glittery shadows. I do not want to waste this product, so I use it on days I want a ‘barely there’ make up look.
The best thing about this is the brush, which is a nice addition to my collection.
I must admit I have been disappointed with every Smashbox product I own. This is $78, which means I would consider this to be high end. However, it cannot compete with other high end products. Frankly, many cheaper brands such as ChiChi do better in terms of pigmentation.
If you want a neutral palette, I do not recommend this product.

I have such mixed feelings about this palette. I love that there is a large range of mattes and glitters, as well as a mix of cool and warm tones. I bought this because the lady at Sephora suggested it to me when I returned the Naked palette (I know, I’m crazy. The colours looked horrid on me though). I didn’t really swatch it in the store, which was a mistake. I was in a hurry and leaving the country the next day, so I was trying to use my store credit. I like the matte shades and the champagne shimmer shade a lot. These are nice quality and create a really nice eye look as well. I also like that I can use the matte shades during the day and then add the glitter shades on top for night time without having to put too much thought into it. However, the glitter has a lot of fallout and not great pigmentation. The cool toned glitter shades are all super interesting colours, but there isn’t enough payoff to have this transferred onto the eyes. Overall, I will definitely use this palette up and do like it for the most part, I would rather not have purchased it and bought another palette instead.
sugaryGnu6
I like the colours but some shades are hard to blend out. Normally use the pale colours just for everyday, I would not tend to use this for nights out as I like my shadow quite dark but find it hard to achieve with this palette
wrathfulTuna1
I was very disappointed with this product. Especially for the price. I had such high hopes for this product and it just didn’t live up to the expectations. I swatches the shades in the store and was blown away at how beautiful all of the colors were ( especially the shimmers). But when I got home with the pallets and tried it out, I almost cried. The matte shadows are good and I use them a lot although a couple shades you do have to build up to get any color. But the shimmers are HORRID. The colors are great but the fallout if just terrible, hardly any of the product actually sticks to the eyelid, its just goes everywhere. So I tried applying with my fingers and it worked better that way but still, just minutes later the colors started to fade. Do not reccomend. Maybe if it was cheaper but for the price, no!
anxiousGelding8
I love eyeshadow palettes and I bought this one because it looked pretty. Unfortunately, that’s all this is, pretty. It has shimmer and matte shades that are neutral but the quality is very poor. I’m actually not even a big fan of Smashbox items, they pale in comparison to other brands. The matte and shimmer shades barely have any pigment. There’s a lot of fall out with the shimmer shades because of the chunky glitter. The matte shades are just chalky and hard to blend/apply even if I put on lid primer.
Do you need this palette? NO.
excludedBaboon8
I’ve had my eyes on this palette for a long time now before I decided to go ahead and purchase it. I personally love all the shades and it’s a great palette to travel with since it has such a beautiful mixture of mattes and shimmer shades. It is so easy to take a look from day to night which I love.
I’m not the best when it comes to matte shades but I like that the matte shades need to be built up. It keeps me from applying too much and having to redo it. And if I want my color pay off right off the bat, I just need to put more shadow on my brush when I do the first application. I think my only problem with this palette is how much fallout there is with the shimmer shades.
I expected that but there was just more fallout than I had expected. But they are so beautiful when applied to the eyes. I was surprised by the fact that while the shimmer is a bit chunkier, it didn’t irritate my eyes. Since I wear contacts, chunkier shimmer can irritate the heck out of my eyes but I haven’t had a singe problem with that yet. And a how-to sheet comes with the palette which makes it really fun to try out different styles of application.
I think for the price, it is really good. And I am in love with this palette, I have been using it almost every day since I got it! Also, if you are a beginner or a traveler and want one palette with pretty much any neutral shade you could need, this is a great one to try out. Plus you get a lot in each pan so you won’t hit pan right away.
abjectZebra0
This palette is filled with the most beautiful neutral shades in both matte and shimmers. The disappointing thing about this palette is that the mattes are extremely weak. You have to build these colors up in order to reveal the real color. When it comes to blending they are horrible as well. The shimmers are quite beautiful actually. For the way this palette works it’s extremely expensive and not worth it. Although, the brush that it comes with is AMAZING. It is my go to brush every single day.
