This is a beautiful everyday palette. Normally there are a lot of shades in palettes I don’t like or use but this is an exception to that. I do have some favourites though such as Gilded, Beloved and a few others. The only shade i dont use that much is the black. There are some fun shades but you can still use them for everyday and for a lot of occasions because they aren’t too crazy or neon. You can go glam or casual depending on your mood thanks to the different textures and colour of shadows.The shimmers aren’t super intense but are still really pretty, are good for people who dont want something super blinding and i do think they look better dry. The metallics are much more blinding then the shimmers. Good combination cool, warm and neutral toned shadows. This currently one of my favourite palettes I find myself reaching for this a lot because i just really enjoy the colours and formula.
The formula is very soft and pigmented that last all day without creasing or looking mucky. Very easy to work with because it isnt super intense pigmentation but is still pigmented. Definitely something a lot of people can enjoy and my favourite eye shadow palette from elf. The packaging does feel a little cheap because of how thin the plastic is compared to some of their other products but other then that I have no complaints. Although shockingly it didn’t break when i accidentally threw it across my room lol. Definitely a must try if you are a neutrals person.

This palette is pretty great for the price, an I recommend you try it. It’s fun and inspiring and has a good mix of colours for a neutral palette.
The strongest point of the palette is the mattes. They are decently pigmented and blend well (not as well as viseart but better than something like urban decay for sure). There is a good mix of light, medium, and deep shades too, with both cool, neutral, and warm tones. It’s not a boring matte palette for me either, because it has some good shared to center your look around, like the greenish gold (gilded) or the warm taupish platinum and the darker and slightly greenish opulent shade.
The lasting power is good with and eye primer and will last all day on me many days, but not if I’m playing sports or biking or something. That’s pretty normal for me with all shadows, but I do find my viseart last a bit better than these.
I just want to keep using it over an over again. That’s the same way I felt when I first got the Opposites Attract palette from this line as well.

This is the world’s okayest palette. In some areas, it’s great, and in others, it’s just a mess.
To get the bad out of the way, we’ll start with the shimmer shades. Only a couple are actually all that pigmented (while the others are dang near rock hard), and they don’t really translate on the eyes as the same shade in the pan. The green shade and the rose gold shade are great, and there’s a silvery taupe shimmer that’s pretty nice, but the remainder of the shimmers are blah at best. And that black with glitter? No thanks.
Also, the packaging is pretty whatever. It doesn’t add anything to my vanity looks-wise, and it’s not super sturdy. It’s just there. I feel that for $14 from e.l.f., I should get a mirror if the palette is going to be this big. Even their 10-pan shadow palettes have a mirror.
And $14 from e.l.f. feels kinda pricey. I know their prices have been going up, but for the quality, I’d expect a lower price point.
Also, there’s really not much special about this palette in terms of unique shades. I know it’s meant to be a neutral palette, but these have been beaten to death, if you ask me, at every price point.
But here are some good points:
The mattes are great. They are pigmented and blend like a dream. They remind me of the 10-pan Mad for Matte palettes in pigmentation and blendability (though this palette is a bit more dusty). The colors are rich and pretty, and if you’re in need of a neutral palette and want to play with the shimmers that actually do work, this is a good one to go with.
Also, it’s vegan, and e.l.f. is 100% cruelty-free. So I can appreciate that.

I bought both the ELF Opposites Attract palette and the New Classics palette from my local Target (I didn’t want to chance having them shipped from ELF and coming busted…)
I reviewed the New Classics first before trying the Opposites Attract palette – and I have to say that I like them both, but I do feel that they are a bit overpriced for ELF. $14, I think they could have put the price point of these at $9.99. The colors are beautiful and fun, but they are EXTREMELY powdery – the kickback is FOR REAL with these. One dip with your brush and powder is everywhere on the palette.
Shades – I wish there would have been more mattes and a few less shimmers to be a “classics” palette, but I still like she shades they picked. In photos, the colors look muted, but some are shimmers so they look a bit glam for every day. They aren’t too bright per se, but when I think of classics, I think of an everyday shades/colors sort of palette.
Consistency – I would say after trying both palettes and owning their others (Mad for Matte) – these run the same quality as their other palettes.
I found the mattes to apply pigmented and fine in my crease and they blend well with each other. They aren’t super patchy, but some darker mattes do run patchy in the sense that if you touch down with your brush on your lid (with base down) the color will stick and it will take some power to blend it out. The shimmers are pretty, but do not last at all on my lids (even with UD primer lid base). I apply them with my fingertip (and have done wet) and they show up bright for about 5 minutes, but I swear as you blink your lid and work with other colors – the bold shine/shimmer just disappears. (I found this the same with the Opposites Attract palette, too).
I enjoy playing around and palettes last forever, so I don’t see this as a waste at all. But ELF could have lowered the price point – and made them similar to their other palettes (or like the Profusion palettes which are cheaper) it would have been a bit more accepting. I would “repurchase” in general, because ELF is normally pretty cheap and make-up should be fun and not super expensive, which their stuff in general is at a lower price point than most.
