This palette is so good, especially for the price! I was looking for a red-toned palette with deeper, muted wine shades and this really answered my call. In fact, when it comes to the wine shades, it’s got everything from a light wash of neutral red to a full-on merlot, and I really love it for that. But it doesn’t stop there; there are wonderfully pigmented copper and bronze shades, as well as a green-hued deep charcoal that is quite unique and insanely pigmented (I normally find black shadows to be hit or miss). Unlike the Division palette from the same range, the shimmers in this palette perform beautifully.
The mattes are very pigmented, but can take a little work to avoid patchiness on the eye, depending on the primer you use. I use the Wet n Wild primer (suggestions on a drugstore primer that works as well as this and is ACTUALLY cruelty free would be welcome, btw), and I do find that these require a little finagling to make even. But it’s not that bad really. I actually rather enjoy the need to build them up rather than having them be out of control with immediate blasts of color. The finished product is still gorgeous.
The packaging is nothing to write home about, but I’m not expecting much from a $7 palette that actually has good quality shadows. Especially when you get a good amount of shadow per pan, rather than tiny squares that barely accommodate the tip of a brush.
Over all, I really like this palette a lot! It’s sort of restored my faith in MUR palettes, so maybe I’ll be apt to try more!
