I’m a huge Wet n Wild fan, and since they’re king when it comes to drugstore neutral eyeshadows (we all know about the Comfort Zone palette), I decided to give their colorful eyeshadows a fair shot. Their Art in the Streets palette was a huge disappointment but I still wanted to try this one.
That being said, I’m not a fan of this palette, whatsoever. The only reason I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 is because I considered the price point, as well as the fact that a few of the colors in this palette are somewhat usable.
ALL the colors in this palette are dusty and powdery, nothing like the buttery/smooth formula found in their neutral colors. There is a lot of kick-up when you press your brush to them and the chalkiness makes them difficult to work with and blend on the eyelid.
Most of these colors have lousy pigment. They barely show up on the lid on their own, especially if you have a medium/tan skin tone such as myself. Even with a setting spray, most of these eyeshadows don’t apply well and blend away to almost nothing. With a LOT (a LOT) of work some of the colors can be used, but all the extra effort makes the price not even remotely worth it.
The stars of the show are the teal color on the right side of the palette, and the dark gray on the bottom left column. The dark gray is the most buttery and soft and the teal is bright and vibrant with or without wetting your brush with a setting spray. The dark blue on the bottom right is not SO bad but it swatches and applies a different color than it appears in the pan, which is a huge disappointment. The first two shadows in the left hand column (the baby fuchsia along with the peachy pink), along with the yellow, are the worst colors. They’re beyond sheer (the peachy pink is almost invisible) and they’re the chalkiest of the bunch.
Overall this palette isn’t worth it. I’ll stick to the WnW neutrals in the future, until I hear they’ve improved their formula.

I had been looking at this for a while debating on weather to buy it or not and I finally picked it up one day. On its own it’s pretty pigmented, but I use a white pencil under it to make it really POP. And I love the color payoff of it. It sometimes creases but that is because of the white that I use under it. It is very affordable and pretty for the summer which is why i got it in the first place. I love wet n’ wild products for the most part.

I bought this for the pretty colors for lining, and a pick-me up for summer, not knowing that this palette contains only two shimmery colors, the yellow browbone and the dark gray definer. All the rest are matte! The reddish shadow makes a nice blush because it is pretty sheer. The yellow browbone color is also sheer, and it didn’t make me look jaundiced as some yellow colors usually do. The others are nicely pigmented but a little dusty. It is better when wet as I used the colorful ones such as the teal and the blue shades as liners. The dark gray definer is very nice, not too black or harsh looking with a somewhat metallic finish; I didn’t see any glitter (yay!)

This eyeshadow palette is great for the price.
Yes, it’s a little powdery and doesn’t have the best pigmentation. However, with an eyeshadow primer on your lid and MAC Fix+ on your brush, it can be worked to a good vibrant color. I like the shades in this palette. I have way too many neutral palettes and I feel like this palette gives me the option to create a pop of color as an accent. I’m not so fond of the browbone shades as they’re not bright enough for me. I have medium skin tone and those don’t really work for me.
This palette would be even better if the shadows didn’t have writing on them (I think it cheapens the look) and that the pans were easy to pop out for my z palette! I guess I have no choice but to employ the candle technique to pop these suckers out of the pan. Overall, I’m happy I bought this and would recommend this to supplement any eyeshadow collection.
