This and their Gen eye Nude primer and base are the best eyeshadow primers I’ve tried for my oily, hooded eyes. They have color, and coverage so they not only aid in e/s longevity, they also help even out skintone to function as mousey cream eyeshadows. They have some microshimmer in them, but it diesnt bother me. I have to look REALLY close to see it. They are also very easy to blend and work on top of emollient concealers.
Better than Urban Decay primer potion, Milani eyeprimer, and Covergirl Lid lock up fyi.
Would repurchase. I hope they are not discontinued.

Soooo I’ve discovered the Bareminerals 5-in-1 bb cream eyeshadow and it is the best of all the shadow ‘sticks’ I’ve purchased – especially since so many brands that carry this type of eyeshadow have at least a small amount of glitter or shimmer in them.
The 5-in-1 isn’t really a “stick” but comes in a tube with a wand to apply. It’s soooo smooth and creamy and beautiful…. I have 4 shades and they’re all fabulous! Very easy to apply just patting it on with fingers and they blend beautifully and easily. Also, I’ve been using the 5-in-1 Candlelight Peach, Blushing Apricot or the Barely Nude as an all over lid primer and they hold up all day – I’d say up to about 12 hours. They’re very smooth, and even after about 6 hours there’s no creasing, which for me is almost unheard of.
Their Gorgeous Greige (bought on eBay at a great price!) is a nice taupey-gray matte, FYI. I think this color may have been discontinued (but I love that eBay gives us an opportunity to find discontinued items) – sounds like this color may currently be the Elegant Taupe but not sure they’re exact dups. Highly recommend for the mature eye!

This product I wouldn’t recommend as an eyeshadow, I would recommend it as an eyeshadow primer/base
It doesnt have a nice natural base colour but I think it wouldn’t do much on its own.
It always drys pretty quickly and my eyeshadow stays the same allll night, it won’t budge as long as I have got this primer on
Would recommend

This product was recommended to me because I have sensitive eyes that get irritated with powder shadow. I love this product! It doesn’t irritate my eyes, goes on smoothly and doesn’t crease. And I love the color ‘Soft Linen’. It’s like a subtle highlighter. Normally I wouldn’t pay so much for an eyeshadow but this one is worth the price.

I bought this in Barely Nude, and it does a nice job of evening out, correcting and brightening around my eye.
However
As soon as I blink it creases and has to be smoothed out again with my finger. After it dries down it emphasizes my lines and crepey lids. I’m not a big eyeshadow wearer, I am more about brows, liner and lashes. I think that my best all over color has been Wet N Wild Brule eyeshadow which is available widely for a dollar. I will stick with that for now.

I first saw this used by Wayne Goss in a video and was intrigued. In the interim, I got a couple of the elf liquid shadows; those are good, but not really the same as this.
I was both interested and nervous about the SPF in this; I have a lot of trouble with SPF of any kind, can use only physical ones, and even those make my eyes watery if applied near the eyes.
So, when I went to use my 20% off coupon at Ulta, I swatched these… and settled on, to my surprise, Luminous Pearl. It’s a soft white with a pearlescent sheen, not “frosted.” Note that I have a LOT of eye primers, cream and liquid shadows… and many of those are nude shades, so perhaps that’s why I went for the white. I apply to moisturized lids, two dots, blend quickly. It sets up fast, looks very smooth; not entirely opaque. Easy to apply powder shadows over it, lasts well for me… though I haven’t had the chance to really challenge it with a long day.
So far, so good. Oh, and it hasn’t irritated at all, even my super sensitive eyes. I’m thinking about getting a nude shade to wear under my eyes for the SPF!
UPDATE 4/18/17: So my research online revealed that Ulta doesn’t carry all of the colors available. Fortunately, I found a bareminerals boutique near me (I believe in swatching in person) and went there to try out. Good thing too; I found that Soft Shell, a color not available at Ulta, is my best skin shade, lighter and pinker than Soft Linen. I’m also looking at Exotic Lilac for later…

I have been looking for the perfect eyeshadow base for years, something that would make my eyshadows last all day on my oily lids, that will cover all the redness and veins and wouldn’t accentuate the crepey skin and fine lines. For long my compromise has been Bobbi Brown Cream Eyeshadow in Bone, which is a really good neutral colour but the bulky glass pot is too heavy, too narrow and after a while it dries to a goopy paste that is impossible to apply evenly. And it costs a fortune.
I was so frustrated that I decided to do my research and so I came to these gems. I have tried in store Barely Nude and Soft Linen and I bought Barely Nude, a very neutral skin tone that matches my complexion so good that I could use it as concealer all over my face. It has some imperceptible golden sparkles, not visible in the daylight.
The texture is a kind of liquid mousse that applies easily with the doe applicator. I apply it in dots or strokes over my lids and under my eyebrow arch and then I smudge or dab with my fingers all over the area. It takes few seconds to dry down into an almost powdery film. This alone would be enough because it unifies and smooths my lids beautifully. I can then apply all sort of eyeshadows and liners and they last all day.
Initially I wanted to buy the Soft linen because it was a bit lighter and more yellow – so, I thought it would be better in concealing and neutralising the redness, but it had a bit more sparkle and I really wanted to have something “nude” for the day. I may buy it in future though because I loved how the eyeshadow looked on the top of it.
At this point I’m so in love with this product that I could buy every colour but the tube is quite large and I think it will last me very long, so other than Soft Linen I will probably buy Candlelit Peach as I think this will brighten my eyes even more.
Well done BM!

I wanted to try this because my ears perked when I heard “SPF” in an eyeshadow. It’s only SPF 15, but that’s better than nothing, and I wear sunglasses. I usually use eyeshadow only on special occasions, but this is a perfect everyday product. It evens out my skintone without being obvious. I have greasy eyelids, so eyeshadow can make me look unkempt after a couple hours wear. This is a cream-to-powder formula that sets beautifully and seems to form a film over the skin oils. The shade I have is Candlelit Peach, and it doesn’t really show up as “color” on my eyes. It has a brightening effect, for sure, but it looks basically natural. My eyes have not been irritated by this, and I have not experienced milia or anything like that on my lids. Eyeshadow on heavy-lidded, almond eyes, like mine, takes on a different function than the “traditional” shaping. (I remember learning how to do makeup and being puzzled, “Eye crease? What crease?”) Fortunately the makeup world has expanded to accomodate the actual human beings who inhabit it, and I see this “BB” eyeshadow as a product that “understands” that eyes have endless shapes and needs. I can wear this product on my lids without looking like I forgot to take my Catwoman mask off after executing my most recent devious scheme. This shadow is long-wearing, brightening, smoothing, and very very pretty. The Peach tones enhance both the hazel and green in my eyes and work well with my red hair. I like it so much, I may purchase another shade or two. This would be great in a yellow shade as a neutralizer/brightener.

I bought this based on reviews here, and I want to especially thank the over-40 reviewers who recommended it. I purchased it in Soft Linen and just love it! It really is kind to aging lids and makes an outstanding shadow base that doesn’t irritate my eyes as UDPP has begun to. It really brightens the eye area and makes me look more awake while covering my red, veiny lids–something I desperately need. It looked too sparkly on my hand, but on my eyes, it’s magic. The doefoot applicator allows easy, controlled application, and the creaminess and spreadability belies its ability as a primer. My shadows applied easily and looked fabulous, and did not crease. At all. It’s been a while since I bought anything from Bare Minerals, and have to say that I”m very impressed with this product. I’ll probably try more shades and would definitely repurchase this one.
Update 5/1/16–I recently purchased Elegant Taupe anf love it, too. The shade is a chameleon–it looks like a matte grey, but has subtle mauvey undertones and some very fine gold shimmer. The shade you end up with depends on how much you apply, so it’s quite versatile. It also layers well with Soft Linen. These are real winners–they apply easily, have great staying power, apply quickly, look great, and remove easily.

I love this eyeshadow!
My fav is “Soft Linen” being the lightest one. It is super fast to use, and looks fantastic with just a bit of a cat eye and mascara, or as a base for other colours. I find Soft Linen is extremely flattering and makes my eyes look bright, rested, and really pop!
My eyelids were getting very dry and looked crinkly, but this seems to smooth all that out, and looks sleek and polished. Since using this my eyelids are deffinately in better condition and don’t look crinkly anymore, plus it has that awsome SPF 15 for protection.
It lasts me all day and even stays put through my hard swimming sessions. It is just fantastic!
Tip: I have found if you take out the stopper from the top when you think its all gone, you can get a heap load more from the tube. 🙂
