My HG primer!
Amazing stay on all day!

You’d have to be pale as a ghost to pull this off on its own. Very opaque formula, and very very pale eggshell-beige. Creamy liquid, dries down to a matte finish. Excellent coverage with just a wee bit. Definitely resistant to oily lids and creasing, and good for hooded lids like mine. Does its job extremely well and holds eyeshadow in place. But… be sure to either: (a) cover the primer completely with eyeshadow, or (b) use the teensiest amount of primer. Did I mention it’s opaque AND very pale? Comes in a silvery squeeze tube with fine tip, which is good because you don’t need much. I generally like to pat primer on with a fingertip, but a synthetic brush (dedicated just for this primer) would be a good way to go also. I barely touch my finger to the outside of the tube tip to pick up some primer, rub that fingertip with the fingertip of the other hand to distribute it, then pat onto my lids and smooth out; I only need a ridiculously small amount, and even so my lids look distinctly lighter than the rest of my face. Any more than that and I look like Mimi from the Drew Carey Show, but with antique white eyelids instead of bright blue.
Excellent as a primer but I’d be happier if the shade were closer to NC25 or so. Not very forgiving to work with, and for this reason I would not repurchase.

I have extremely oily eyes that are also hooded. My eyelids usually eat through most primers, concealers, foundations and powders. The only product that gave me a decent wear time was MAC Paint Pot in Soft Ochre, and I’m not a fan of the Paint Pot’s pricetag.
The ABH primer is fantastic for my lids. One drop covers both of my lids, crease and brow bones. I set it with a neutral powder and then apply my shadows. Blending is smoothe and I get about eight hours without fading or creasing.
While this is still pricey a little goes a long way. I’m using less product than I normally do with the Paint Pot, and I’m getting a longer wear time.
Now, while I’m loving this primer there are some issues that I should mention. This primer is a drier formula and sets very matte. This is absolutely perfect for my oily lids. If you have dry lids, however, I think this might emphasize your dryness and even flake.
The shade of this primer is also extremely pale. I only saw one shade offered, but maybe they’ll expand the color range. As of buying it though, it is very VERY pale, almost pure white. It makes a good base for bright shadows, but it’s a drastic difference from my skintone. I have to be careful to fully cover it with eyeshadow or it’s noticeable.
I definitely recommend this eye primer if you have oily lids. I initially bought the mini version, and loved it so much that I got the full sized. I still use my MAC Paint Pot, but the ABH eye primer is my new HG. If I’m planning on going out all day with my eyeshadow look I’m going to use the ABH primer.

So ive been quite taken with this brand and indulged in quite a few of her products in the last two months, the eye primer is a wind up formula in packaging similar to Stila’s lip glazes, i had no issue getting the product out with a few turns and its easy to control how much comes out at a time. It dries matte and has a light neutral colour to it which covers everything brilliantly- it is the perfect eye primer in that way and creates a flawless base for the eyeshadow, which adheres nicely to it and blends still easily after it. the only problem with it is it doesnt actually stop the eyeshadow from creasing, which is precisely why we’d buy it in the first place, i tried setting it with a little loose powder before the eyeshadow to see whether that would help but when i checked at the end of the day there was creasing there 🙁 I use either the nars eye primer or Urban decay eye primer usually and my eyeshadow at the end of the day is exactly as i put it on in the morning. I wish Nars would bring theirs out in a coloured formula.

I was really excited to try this and it just didn’t work for me ???? it actually stung my eyes and my eyeshadow was gone midday.

Gabriel recently released an eye primer; I didn’t use it till just the last few days ’cause I’m now in the throes of an eye freakout. I will say, when I use it as I’ve learned to use other eye primers (extremely sparingly!), it works quite well, and does not cause undue irritation (in fact, compared to other primers, it’s downright soothing). (Do NOT expect glue-like perfection, however; it does what is intended–provide a smooth surface for shadow to bond to, enhance intensity of the shadow, and extend wear.) For the record, I have the Neutral, which is quite light color-wise. I also used it over cream (PC Skin Recovery Replenishing, for those who care.) Also see my review of Gabriel eye shadow.

One of my favorite eye primers. Intensifies eye shadows, increases wear time, affordable. What could be better?

This primer is a great dupe for Urban Decay Eye Primer Potion (Original).
PROS:
– smooth fine lines (if you have wrinkly eyelids like me)
– makes eyeshadow stay put all day
– makes eyeshadow vibrant.
– inexpensive (if you can find it in the area you live in)
CONS:
– No Jane Cosmetics in Vancouver, BC
– Had to order it online (shipping is quite a bit)

this is a keeper. one of my best primers but as I rave on and on about mk mascaras and primers, I rant about there eyeshadow. every time I use my MK shadows I get a bit salty but the primer I adore. it’s creamy and tacky enough to make even the cheapest hard pan shadows to stick . when it dries it’s smooth and totally helps when blending shadows. love it.

I’ve used this product for years. It goes on light and keeps my eye makeup in place. I generally have fewer issues with eye shadows creasing as I do issues with smudged eye liner, and this primer makes sure I never have that awful streak from eye liner gone wrong! I never wear eye liner without this product.

Wow, I always thought I had a review for this product but apparently not! I still use this product. I know there are better options out there, I like tube packaging since it is more sanitary. This primer has made my eye shadow last longer. Its very concentrated so you don’t need to use a lot.
shamefulPie8
This is my favourite eye primer. I have used NARS, UD, Smashbox, and Benefit. I have oily eyelids, and I find most other primers will help for about 6 hours. (3 with Benefit) Mary Kay primer makes my shadow stay on for a solid 12 hours.

It’s actually not too bad – no smudging and helped my shadow to stay longer (I used both MK and other brands of “better” e/s with this primer). Dries clear.
No irritation.
No issues.
Oh – and I have dry skin (not oily eye lids for sure!).
I am not sure if you have oily skin if this would work for you.

I purchased this product because I have very oily eyelids & my eyeliner tends to rub of on my upper eyelids after a few hours. This did not help at all, and at times i think it just made it worse. If you have oily eyelids I do not recommend this primer.

I read a review on Total Beauty about this primer so I wanted to give it a try. Unfortunately for me wheni put it on it caused my eyelids to burn snd the delicate eye area skin flaked off…. This was problematic when trying to spply eyeshadow on top of the primer. I went ahead and tried but got an uneven application and this did not last or prevent my Eyeshadow from crashing. It was possibly worse than without any primer at all

I got this as part of a GWP so the tube is small. I have the shade Satin Blush and I actually like it as a wear alone one & done shadow. The color is subtle and although it’s a shimmer, it’s not chunky and doesn’t make my lids looking like crepe paper. I apply with my fingers as it’s very creamy and a little goes a really long way. It’s not the most pigmented product but that’s not surprising given it’s meant to be a primer and I’m using it as an actual shadow. I do wish it had better staying power, though. I get about 6-8 hours of wear from it, so I guess that’s not horrible but it could be better. I can’t say that I’d purchase the full size because I can get the same results but with better pigmentation from a NYX jumbo eye pencil at about half the price.

This is an ok eye primer, but not the best. I got a tube of some from a promo, not sure if it was the matte version or the champagne tint, but I like the matte one better. The tinted ones are difficult to work with because if I apply too little, it doesn’t do anything, but if I apply too much, there’s noticeable sparkly stuff. I had some in the satin blush tint and it looked terrible, I don’t need a heavy wash of pink all over my eyelids, so I threw it away. I would rather spend the money on a higher end one that I know works (I prefer smashbox) or a cheap one that works ok (like NYX).

I happen to like this eye primer a lot. My HG eye primer is from a brand called Prestige but I have been having trouble finding it anymore. This Ulta eye primer works similar to the Prestige. It is a nude color and does help to keep my eye shadow looking nice all day. I would repurchase this.

Did nothing for my eyeshadow. Never dried and didnt allow e/s to set. Toss. Cute container but didnt do any good.

I got this in a set with a foundation and lash primer as well on clearance so I thought eh, why not give this a try. Oh my gosh … this did absolutely nothing for my eyelids. I wanted to throw it out but I didn’t want to waste it so I forced myself to finish it. OMG. This thing never runs out!! I finally couldn’t take it anymore and I threw it out. It would probably make my eyeshadow stay in place for 2-3 hours tops. I hate the packaging as well. Since it’s in a tiny pan, you really have to dig in there to get product out and that’s unsanitary. I find that the lid never stays on tight and comes off when I toss it in my traveling makeup bag. I have really oily lids though so MAYBE MAYBE if you had dry lids then it might work out for you. Yeah, this was a nightmare. I recommend the ELF primer instead … and it’s only a dollar!
somberRuffs4
This is the first eye primer I ever tried. I don’t really have oily lids so I haven’t really ever had major problems with my eye shadows, but do not recommend this primer. It made my eye shadow look sort of “flaky” and made it look like my eyelid was peeling! The product seems to be more like a concealer or something.

I wanted to try an eye primer and found this item online. It wasn’t expensive and I ordered it. Some reviews I read indicated this was a good product. Needless to say, it was not all it was cracked up to be. On my eyes, my eyeshadow creased and faded. I used it with cheap and expensive eyeshadows. I find that my eyeshadow actually stays on better without this item. I like a couple of things about this product, it covers the discoloration on my eye lids. It is smooth in texture and it is inexpensive. I also like the packaging although it is simple. I will continue to use it until it is finished but I will not purchase this again.
