This shampoo is pretty average, I even find it a bit drying. My hair is all ready dry and bit damaged so the drying effects didn’t help much. Overall the price is outrageous for the performance! I bought the Gold Lust Shampoo and Conditioner in the liter size. I can say for sure after using the shampoo after prolonged use that I will never buy it again. HOWEVER the Gold Lust Conditioner is amazing!

My review is based on a sample, so I can’t speak to long term usage and will keep this short. The shampoo lathered nicely, did not irritate my scalp, and my hair felt clean. However, it was so heavily perfumed that it gave me a headache. It smelled very strongly of men’s cologne/grandmotherly perfume to the point that it stunk. Would never purchase or use again because of the overpowering scent.

My hair is color-treated and slightly damaged and I was convinced by a salesperson that this would give me lush, healthy, voluminous hair. Quite the opposite. It weighed my hair down upon the first use. I tried it a few more times and by the end my hair had accumulated quite a bit of buildup. This is a problem I have with a lot of Oribe products. Some are worth it for the effect (love the Mousse) but others definitely aren’t. The best I can say about this shampoo is the scent. It may not be for everyone, but some combination of lemon, sandalwood, and a few other magic ingredients make me swoon. But there’s a separate Oribe fragrance so you don’t have to tolerate a bad product for the scent alone!

I was really excited to make this purchase.. Nordstrom had an exclusive set of the Gold Lust Shampoo and Conditioner in the small travel sizes for $38.00, I thought I would get these and I was sure I would love them and come back to by the bigger bottles. NO NO NO! These completely dried out my hair, breakage was everywhere after only 3 times of shampoo/conditioning!!!!!!
These products are loaded with fragrance and alcohol!!!
Beware everyone! They seduce you with an awesome scent but it’s NOT WORTH RUINING YOUR HAIR 🙁

I have a dyed blonde bob, my hair is naturally fine and also with the regular bleaching it can be dry. This shampoo is AWFUL, I’m glad I bought the small version and not the large one. It creates sticky, greasy spots in my hair, makes my hair feel sticky and simply gross.

Another very high quality product with consistent and excellent results. Yes it’s crazy expensive but I found a professional size bottle on Overstock for a great price. This and the matching conditioner are truly 5 lippies each and I love both. I try not to use every day because of the high cost and my fear it will “stop” working if used too frequently. Probably use the pair 2x per week each. My hair looks thick, shiny, and bright. An excellent shampoo.

Love the scent and the results. Makes my aging hair feel like it did in my 20s. Use with the matching conditioner for amazing results. Can comb thru without applying additional hair products.
As one reviewer noted, this contains protein, which is a double-edged sword. You should NOT use this everyday else you may feel your luxe locks suddenly feel dry/parched and brittle.
This product contains Hydrolyzed Soy Protein, which is a water soluble protein derived from soy that will strengthen and mend hair fibers. It increases hair’s ability to hold moisture while adding shine and smoothness.
Hair needs protein to be healthy and strong, but using to much of a good thing can be bad for your hair.
Manufacturers place protein in hair care products to fill the gaps of damaged hair so it ca be strong again.
However, too much of this can cause your hair to become stiff, brittle and inelastic.
In summary, don’t use it every day.

This product is amazing. My hair is very fine, very straight, but I have tons of it. Because of the fineness, it tends to get frizzy. It also breaks a lot which is odd because I never style it. I’m a wash and go type of girl. I don’t blow dry, straighten, and rarely do I color it. But, it’s still dry and damaged and just looks overall boring. I got a sample of this shampoo and conditioner one day in the mail; it was packaged with some makeup I bought online. I had never heard of the brand (or the price). Stupid me used the entire sample in one shower! There was enough for 2 uses. After it air-dried I could not stop touching it! It was beautiful, shiny, and my natural golden/red highlights were more visible. I got compliments from friends and the BF asking me if I got it blown out. When I found out that the set retails for $90 I put off purchasing it. I couldn’t justify the price. I went and spent $50 to get it cut and bought higher quality shampoo and conditioner trying to mimic what the $90 set had accomplished in one shower. In the end I realized buying the set was cheaper than continuously trying multiple brands of shampoo/conditioner AND cutting it to get the same results.
If you buy this please buy from a reputable seller. Amazon’s FBA sellers have a history of selling knock-off products. I bought mine at Beautylish.com

My long thinning hair was in horrific condition following severe deteriorating medical conditions. I knew that I wanted to do my best to keep all the hair I could and I’m the best shape possible. I had tried just about everything on the market then my friend and Stylist found Oribe and shared it with me; thank God! My hair has less breakage and more shine than ever. The price deters many from trying, but it is very concentrated and a little goes a LONG WAY!

I bought two double packs of this at Costco for 34.99 for the shampoo and conditioner. The shampoo smells nice and you need to add alot of water to your hair to make the shampoo lather. The shampoo left my hair dry. The conditioner quickly remedied that. I was able to run a comb through my hair afterward. I am still having some hair breakage but not as much as before. I am not sure if I would repurchase at the regular price. I was using Kevin Murphy Hydrate Me before and the shampoo left my hair dry and matted and I could not run a comb through my hair afterward. The Oribe shampoo and conditioner smells very nice. I am not sure why these shampoos leave your hair dry, maybe because there are no silicones in them? Have never found a sulphate free shampoo that has not left my hair a dry, matted mess. Will continue to use until I finish both sets of shampoo and conditioner, unless I find something more suited for my hair. Oily roots, bleached, dry, frizzy at the lower bottom, where the hair is old.
