My complaint with them is not their products, but their customer service. It is the absolute worst that I have experienced. They NEVER answer emails and they NEVER answer their phone! I have a couple of questions that will never get answered since they don’t communicate. I think that they are “too big for their britches”! It really pisses me off! For that reason, I may never purchase their products again.

I tried this shampoo exactly once and will not be making that mistake again. The texture of the product was nice (a soft gel) and the results on the hair seemed good, but I couldn’t stand the smell. It smells like The Body Shop’s White Musk. If I’m going to pay this much for shampoo, I expect something nicer! I realize scent is subjective and I’m feeling generous today so that’s why I took off only 2 lippies.

This is the first sulfate free, silicone free shampoo that actually leaves my hair and scalp feeling clean without irritation. It is not inexpensive, however a little goes a long way. I have coarse dry hair and wash every other day with this product and matching conditioner. The absence of silicones is appreciated, although they make hair feel more silky, in the long term they dry out coarse hair.

I have a very sensitive scalp. Most haircare products trigger irritation and eczema along my hairline. This does not. I love the scent. It’s soothing and moisturizing without leaving my fine hair feeling weighed down and greasy. I have been looking for such a product my whole life. I purchased a small bottle of the shampoo, and when that ran out, I purchased an industrial-sized bottle. Not regretting it. Love, love, LOVE!

Now, first of all I want to wag my finger at Evolvh for calling this haircare line “Organic”. Seeing as there is no information I can find on their website that states what is and what percetage of the product is organic, this claim is dubious at best. I sense a bit of “greenwashing” here. I was tempted to deduct 2 points for this, but what this line does for my hair is undeniably fabulous. This is the best shampoo I’ve ever used. Period.
For reference I’m a 3A on NaturallyCurly.com (defined large ringlets, fine hair but lots of it) and color my hair to hide grey (single process).
The length falls about 4 inches below my shoulders.
UltraShine is a clear shampoo with a wonderful soft floral fragrance, which for me is a welcome change from the typical fruit scents of other salon brands. I get tired of my hair smelling like a Bath & Body Works shop circa 1985!
It takes about a quarter size amount to get a good lather going in my longish hair. I wash every other day and after a bit more than a month, I still have 2/3 of the bottle left.
The one caveat here is the price. It’s up there with Frederic Fekkai at $24.00 for 8.5 ounces. Luxury Haircare, indeed!
The best thing about this shampoo is it’s ability to get hair squeaky clean without being drying in the least. I can put my fingers through my hair with minimal snagging after just shampooing alone, yet it doesn’t weigh my hair down at all.
As far as I can see, it’s gentle enough not to strip color.
However, if you have hair that is kinky, course, or has been through more than 2 processes, this shampoo may be a bit stripping.
And, as far as the “UltraShine” claim…well, I hadn’t dyed my hair in several months, but previous to that, I’d had it highlighted, and then home dyed it a bit darker, this stuff made my hair so friggin’ shiny I could see EXACTLY where my natural hair started and my highlighted/dyed hair began!
So, despite falling quite short of my expectations regarding the “Organic” claims. This WILL be my shampoo for as long as they make it.
