Honestly I like it as well as any dry shampoo I’ve tried, nothing groundbreaking but it gets the job done. I needed something in a mini bottle to take on a flight and ended up loving it to refresh my hair during my trip. It is VERY powdery looking. I am a dark blonde and can see it on my roots if I apply more than the smallest amount, so this one is probably best for blondes (not sure if they make it tinted for brunettes?)
Worth trying if you’re a blonde, anyways. As far as the scent goes, to each their own but since some find it “grandma” you might wanna smell it before you buy it 😂

I got this in a holiday kit along with Triple sec and Prep Rally. The smell is an overwhelming Grandma perfume that sticks around for a long time. This does do a great job at absorbing oil for my very fine hair. It is white, but I shake well, spray, let it sit for a minute, then work the powder into my roots with my fingers (takes less than 30 seconds). This gives my hair great texture and truly allows me to wear it down for a second day without washing. This is not the experience I have had with other dry shampoos, which leave my hair looking limp halfway through my second day. I wouldn’t re purchase because it’s just too expensive and I will try to replace this with a drugstore dry shampoo if I can find one that is as good.

lf you want to smell like Grandma and her bathroom spray while looking like a Founding Father, by all means get this overpriced powder spray
If you want a high-end dry shampoo go for Living Proof or Klorane. Or if you dont like cans, Alterna makes a good cornstarch type dry shampoo with a dropper-like applicator for precision
For a go-to, I’m sticking w Not Your Mother’s Clean Freak Dry Shampoo. It’s invisible w no real scent to compete w your preferred fragrance.

Adore the Drybar product names. So much fun. This dry shampoo works well when you don’t have time to do a full on wet your hair, lather rinse repeat. The scent is pleasant and can get your through date night. I do find that I really need to wash my hair the next morning. I have baby fine hair – that I admit I over wash against recommendations from my hairdresser. So occasionally using a dry shampoo is a great option. This is one of my favorite dry shampoos.

I have used both the regular detox dry shampoo and the shampoo for brunettes. The regular shampoo I would rate as a 3 and the brunette I would rate as a 1. The best thing about both is the amazing volume you get with very little product. Just a few sprays will dry your roots and give you amazing all day volume. One of negative aspects of both versions is the smell. Seriously. This stuff smells like nasty chemicals and it will linger on your hair until you wash your hair. The absolute worst thing though is the color of the brunette version. It’s almost black and it will stain your hands and your forehead. I had to scrub it off my hands and forehead and then every time I touched my hair during the day my fingers came away stained black.
If you’re blonde or have light hair you may really like the regular version of this- if you can stand the smell. I cannot think that anyone would ever like the brunette version.

I love their dry conditioner so much I didn’t think twice before purchasing but I really wish I had read other reviews beforehand. Big disappointment!
Like others have mentioned, it can stain really easily. I have to wipe the powder off my face every time I use it. Frustrating, especially when you’re in a rush and trying to run out the door.
The biggest drawback for me is that it makes my hair feel like sandpaper, I expect a dry shampoo to provide a bit of volume but this is straight up gritty texture like I would expect from a volumizing powder. Because of this it doesn’t really make me feel like I’ve freshened up at all. It does absorb oil but it makes my hair look so dull I’d almost rather just have greasy hair.
Will be sticking to trusty ol’ Batiste like I have done for years!

Ive been on the hunt for dry shampoo since i don’t wash my hair daily. Ive tried this, elizabeth and james (white, black and rose) also tried batiiizzzee (idk how to spell but very popular cheaper brand) also bumble n bumble powder. I like this drybar one the best because it has the nicest smell and also it gets the job done. Its powdery but does not bother me, all you have to do is blend it in with a comb or your fingers. For reference, i have very dark brown almost black hair. This smells nice and clean with some vanilla in it. Elizabeth n james is nice too, very effective, maybe even more than drybar but very pricey(my bf hate the smell of all the e and j ones…lol it kind of reminds me of bugspray) This one i always go back to and sephora has travel sizes so its great if you just want a on the go throw in your purse size or to test it out for around 10usd.
edit – been using living proof dry shampoo instead because it smells better !

Never have I complained about a product’s scent…until now. It had a disgusting, rotten powdery smell that my husband commented on as soon as I got close to him. It lingered for the whole day, and was so strong my whole pillow smelled like it in the morning, even though I’d had it on for 12+ hours before getting into bed. No. Just no.

This was the most “intrusive” dry shampoo I have ever used. I applied it to my hair post-workout, and did my makeup while I waited for it to set. It has quite the white cast, and even brushing it out left my hair still white. I put my hair in a bun and left for work, and when I arrived home, my hair had actually matted a little bit as a result of this product. It totally grossed me out and I was disappointed with such an effect from drybar. I would not recommend.

DO NOT BUY THIS! I need to find out how to upload pics to show what happened to my head!!! The label says “for brunettes” and not to spray near light clothing. I thought, “OK this must have a tiny tint of brown.” I sprayed it on, and immediately my hands, scalp and neck were stained. I hurried up and showered to scrub it out, and it only got worse. The water made it stick even more. I need to upload pics somehow on here! I scrubbed my entire head and face for 30 minutes in the shower. Thank God this was at night and not right before an event or work in the morning.
