After using up Laura Mercier (Dune) bronzer as a contour powder over the last two years, I switched to this product. I purchased the palest shade and I am absolutely thrilled with the results I have achieved. I am vampire pale and I generally contour just a touch every day, and rather dramatically for an evening look on the weekends. This is a lovely product because it is so versatile. It looks natural in daylight, and builds really beautifully. I like it more than my prior contour powder because it is very difficult to over do, and it never looks severe or drag queen-esque.
I would describe the colour as rosy compared to ashy. It works really well with my undertones since I lean neutral, and it would work well for people who are a touch more pink, but for people who strongly lean yellow it might not be as flattering. It isn’t as grey as a typical contour powder. That being said the matte highlight in the palest shade leans yellow, which I use to brighten and set my under eye concealer. It is finely milled enough to do a really good job of that. It isn’t exceptionally pigmented but its natural enough looking.
The packaging is sturdy and I am so grateful there is a division of pans. It has a nice large mirror included. Not much to really note, the matte black gets dirty but it’s Nars so you know what you are getting, But the lid doesn’t stick is click or jam so I have zero complaints. It’s easy to open and isn’t flimsy. Would I repurchase? No. Marc Jacobs contour powders are exceptionally similar, but for $10 more Canadian you get SO MUCH more product. Plus the highlight pan is the same size as the contour. The shades for Marc’s powders are a touch more ashy but I think that would make them more universal. Nars has a beautiful product with these contour blushes, but frankly it’s a terrible value when you consider the tiny highlight, and size of the contour shade, for the price.

I bought this is the darkest combo of the palettes. I’m NC 25 ish and a Natural 4 in Bobbi Brown so Im not that dark/tan at all. I only bought this combo because the medium shades were way too gray toned on my skin. This darkest combo faired the best despite being super dark. I just very lightly use the products.
I regret blowing almost 50 bucks on this. I hardly ever regret buying anything but for this I do.

I already have quite a chiseled face, so I was just looking for something natural looking to enhance the pre existing definition. For me, this ticks all the boxes. It is pigmented, easy to blend and looks fabulously natural and non – cakey. I love how I can even wear this without makeup underneath. For reference, I have this in the lightest shade, “Olympia” and am a Mac NW15. I also love how the highlight is non – shimmer. It gives a very subtle highlight. I have had this for months and have been using it on a daily basis and have yet to hit pan. Wel defenitely be repurchasing when I run out. Well done again, NARS. Another great product.
