I love the idea of these contour sticks in a chubby pencil. So easy to use. But my favorite is the duo pencil from Tarte. Which is skinnier so easier to use everywhere, in my opinion. But let’s get on to this product. This is a fat thick chubby pencil in a matte soft brown with orange undertones, maybe burnt sienna is accurate to describe. This works great with my warm nc30 complexion. I simply swipe it under my cheekbones and chin and just blend really well. Definitely gives a nice contoured look. What I don’t like is that the thickness of this makes it harder to use on smaller areas. But overall I think this is a great contour pencil just not my favorite out there.

I’m not really impressed with this product. I’m very fair so first of all, the colour is wrong. It’s too orange and shimmery to be a good contour stick, and should really be used as a bronzer instead. Because of the oily consistency, it is difficult to get it to stay on the skin and it becomes patchy, with the colour looking muddy. The stick is too fat to contour the nose accurately. It’s dark so you need to use it very very lightly. It’s probably better for people with darker skin.
Other than that, it’s easy to use in the stick and precise on every area but the sides of the nose. Perhaps if they bought out a matte, lighter and cooler shade it would be of more use to me.

It’s a good product in itself but the colour is wrong for contouring; it’s more of a bronzer colour. I’ll use it up but unless they bring out more ashy shades I won’t repurchase. Such a shame as it really is a good product.

I bought the Curvy Contour stick after being fairly well adjusted to the art of highlighting and contouring. It goes on as a cream but because of its stick application it is fool proof. The shade is rather dark, but as long as you know how to blend and buff it’s easy to work with on any shade! I like to apply a transition color to the areas I will use the stick- so first I take a fluffy powder brush to the powder bronzer in a shade slightly lighter than the stick and apply to areas where I’ll use the stick. After the transition color I apply a line of the Clinique stick under my cheekbones, along my jawbones, under my chin, on the sides of my nose, and towards the top of my hairline. I blend and buff the stick color in using a buffing foundation brush. This allows the color to actually look natural and work with your skin tone. When in doubt buff it out! Afterwards I set it with a translucent powder since I have oily skin already. I love the concept of the stick and I seem to work well with it. No complaints here!

I really like this contour stick, it only comes in one shade which obviously won’t be for everyone but for me it is really nice, I sweep it on from the bullet and then blend it out slightly it a beauty blender, I found that when blending it using a foundation brush it would completely remove it so the beauty blender definately works better! Glides on smoothly and can be built up and non sticky. Will repurchase this!

The trick is to put It on first then foundation

Really hated this product.
Firstly – the shade. This shade is far too ‘warm’ for contouring. It looks muddy, like bronzer that’s being misused for contouring. It can look orange under some types of light, and does not create the illusion of shadowing.
Secondly – the texture. This product is more of a gel-like consistency than cream. This makes it too oily for my liking (like many other Clinique products), meaning it spreads too far over your cheeks when you buff it in. It’s also very sheer in some ways, which i don’t think is the idea of a contour. It is difficult to keep it precisely placed. I worry that in warm weather it will melt off.
The highlighter version of this is quite nice however.

I bought this as a total contour newbie. Don’t even wear foundation and never tried contour but the “stick” format seemed easier and what sold me was the colour! This might come off as muddy or too dark on many people, but for my warm toned NC45 skin this is perfect! Just one shade darker! I do my cheekbones and jawline in broad strokes and buff it in with my fingertips or a foundation brush, and top with bonne bell shimmery bronzer for highlight areas. Stays ALL DAY, doesn’t budge, hasn’t broken out my really oily and breakout-prone face, and looks natural. It’s pretty expensive but until I find a dupe, I’m gonna stick with this! That being said, I think the partner highlight stick is way too cool tones for my skin, and so I didn’t purchase it. Overall this is pricy but easy to use and I recommend it for darker and warmer toned skin!

Honestly I hated this product. It looks like you smeared mud on your face, and it is just too dark for people who have very little pigment in their skin.

I hate this product with a passion! I’ve not used chubby sticks before but purchased the sculpting and the highlighter. I use bare minerals foundation and tried this over the top of that. Which was a huge no no! It was like drawing a beard on, when I tried to blend it it stayed! I had to work so hard to blend and still it went patchy. There is only one colour in this and it’s dark, I’m a NC20 and it looked a mess. I thought i would give it another try a few weeks later but with a mac fluid foundation, when I open the stick up the whole lot broke into 2 and dropped on the floor. I was fuming £19 down the drain. I’be also got oily skin and this still went patchy.
