I was looking for something to even out my complexion. Something sheer that matched my skintone and works well with my very dry skin – no dry patches, no mattifying anything.
This is sheer enough and buildale enough and has decent color range for a more olive skintone, which some companies just don’t have. BUT it broke me out. I have dry skin that tends to break out with cetain products, which is always a bit hard to handle. So while this might be suitable for some with dry skin, for me it didn’t work at all.

Being an elderly (67) beauty product junky I have at least 5 foundation sticks. Clinique chubby is my favorite because the color matches me perfectly and it’s creamy and blends easily on my dry skin. Honestly though I think I use it the most because I think its cute. I dab some on my cheeks, nose and chin and blend with a brush when I don’t need a full face cover job. I also use it for a bit of extra coverage on sone age spots that show through medium foundation. But I’m getting those age spots removed soon.

A little dark for fair skin(shade Intense Ivory). It’s a little difficult to blend no matter what u use and I would def do 2 coats to get med coverage. It doesn’t cover blemishes or spots very well but it kinda optically corrects them so they look ok. I don’t powder over this cuz it’s kinda dewy but not crazy. I think it’s a nice product to keep if ur gonna do ur makeup away from home and just want a quick look. Overall tho, it’s not worth the cost. It’s less product than other stick foundations and doesn’t work as well as others…in fact Wet n Wild has a chubby stick concealer that in a pinch can double as foundation and it’s hella better than this and way cheaper. This might b nice for touch ups during the day but I never touch up, just Blotterazzi any shiny areas. If u touch up ur foundation tho this would b nice. The color and formula are pretty ok but not my HG.

Love how easy this foundation is to use, and that it’s compact and easy to just throw in a purse when I’m on the go, which is all the time. The foundation has impressive coverage for a cream-based foundation. I used this in the shade Grandest Golden Neutral and it was a little warmer than what I’m used to from Clinique’s fair/gold/medium “Golden” shades—my perfect match happens to be their Stay Matte Makeup in Golden Neutral, which is a little lighter than the closest shade among Chubby in the Nude foundations. Chubby in the Nude wears comfortably throughout the day, but it happens to be a little dewy, and my skin is already oily. Nothing that a little matte setting powder can’t fix of course, but the oil does still seep through about 6 to 8 hours—halfway through my day. Maybe the dewy look is just part of the foundation being cream-based. If this had a matte finish, was just a tad bit lighter, and came with more product (this lasted less than 2 months, about half the time a typical 30ml foundation lasts me, with daily use), I think I would love this product even more. This might even be my favorite for the winter! But for someone who might not need a whole lot of foundation and can find an exact match, and has dry skin and a desire for a slightly dewy glow, this might be the perfect foundation year-round.

I absolutely love this stuff. I’ll be honest, when I first bought it, I only did so because Clinique was having a 25% off sale around Christmas and I thought hey, why not? I wasn’t expecting to love it. I was only looking for something that would be good for travel (such as our family vacations to the beach) and this, with it’s super portable packaging, was perfect. But wow, the quality of this product COMPLETELY blew me away!
When I first purchased it, I got the lightest shade as is usually the case with my super pale skin. But when I opened this and swatched it? I immediately thought I had wasted $20 because the lightest shade (abundant alabaster) looked SO dark on my hand. But all my light skinned girls out there, don’t let that discourage you! When I blend this in? It’s wonderful! I’m very fair with a more warm skin tone, so all you cool toned girls out there, it might be a bit too yellow for you. Neutral and warm tones, though? It looked amazing. It’s super creamy and VERY easily to blend. I prefer to use my Real Techniques expert face brush, but if you prefer a beauty blender or sponge, that would probably work just as well, especially if that’s what you’re used to using.
The coverage is definitely a sheer coverage if you’re just applying one layer, but can be worked up to a medium coverage if you apply a second layer. If you prefer a full coverage foundation, this definitely isn’t the one for you. That being said, I’ve got uneven spots and redness from mild rosacea that it covers beautifully. It’s got pretty good staying power and still looks great at the end of the day, but if you’re an oily skinned or oily/combination skinned girl such as myself, you’re still going to have to touch up that t-zone (or wherever you get oily) throughout the day. Of course, I’m of the opinion that there is no miracle foundation out there that is going to keep oily skin from getting oily, so I don’t factor that into my rating. It feels nice on the skin, like you aren’t wearing anything at all, and it doesn’t have a smell that’s going to irritate your nose or skin throughout the day. I’ve been wearing it off and on for a few months now and haven’t noticed any irritation to my skin whatsoever either.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this to anyone who is looking for a quick, easy, portable foundation! They’ve got a TON of shades available, but if you aren’t super fair skinned and aren’t sure which color you need, I would definitely go to a store that sells Clinique and do some testing because Clinique is very tricky with their foundation colors. Their products do tend, like I mentioned before, to be on the more warm toned side, so keep that in mind as well.

This is a light coverage foundation stick. It’s a handy product but the color (‘normous neutral) is a touch too dark for my NC25 coloring. If I blend it in, the color looks slightly better but still too dark. With one stroke and the blending, it doesn’t hide my slightly red rosacea spots.
If you can find the right color and don’t need heavy coverage, I think this would be a good product. The packaging could be improved by making the cap fit the back of the stick. I like the idea of a portable foundation but it’s not a good color for me and the coverage is too light.

Stick foundations are the beauty windmills I’m always going to be tilting at. I love them because they’re so very nonchalant. You get serious makeup in a tomboyish, can’t be bothered with a bottle, crayon-like package. Stick foundations are the athleisure of makeup. I love scrawling foundation carelessly on my cheeks and then blending it out as it warms up on my skin. I love how thick and opaque the coverage is.
Unfortunately for me, I have Sensitive Jerk Pores and stick foundations are just a bit too waxy for me to wear. The devil is that they cover the blemishes they give me *so* well. Clinique’s effort is so far the best shot for me. I don’t believe it broke me out, though I think it was still a bit heavy for my poor, sore, flaky winter skin to really hold up to. If you aren’t as delicate as I am about these things, and I’ll bet my best lipstick that you aren’t, Clinique’s formula is creamy and blendable. It’s major failing is color choice. I’m exceedingly pale and the lightest possible shade was a few shades darker than I am and much yellower. If you have cool or neutral-toned pale skin, you are out of luck. You are even more out of luck with this foundation if you have a skin tone darker than a warm medium tan. So this line caters to a very narrow range, honestly, and it should do better.

I was looking for a light sweat proof makeup that would not look cakey after being in the sun. This stick makeup does the trick. It’s a sheer coverage and so easy to apply,I just top off with a mineral powder. Stays on all day even after sitting on the beach for a few hours. I will buy this product again. It works for me.

I love this.
I wear it on its own, no concealer, and it covers my redness nicely. I apply direct from the stick and blend with a stippling brush, spritz with setting spray then powder. I get such a natural looking finish that lasts so well and doesn’t wear oddly.
It’s convenient for travel (which is what I originally bought it for) and I can quickly do my face in the morning. I don’t know how long it will last but i will probably rebuy for the convenience. It was quite pricey but I expect that from Clinique.
The colour is also good for me. I really like it. Other reviewers have said it doesn’t have great coverage – I disagree as this covers my rosacea nicely. Maybe not to mak like coverage, but enough that the redness doesn’t shine through.

This is a beautiful foundation on well nice skins, it doesn’t offer much in the way of coverage as I’m a makeup artist and tried this on a colleague ( 50+ normal skin but who has no got reactive skin due to menopause)and it didn’t really give her the coverage or staying power she needed.
How ever my other colleague (45+ Caucasian oily skin type) who I applied this on who has oily skins with very open pores it’s looked really nice on her just like her skin but better but didn’t do much for minimising her pores.
On me how ever I love, love, loved it! I’m 26 a true combination skin type (oily t-zone normal cheeks) and I swear to god it made my skin look damn near perfect! I swear it even minimised the look of my enlarged pores. How ever 5 days into wearing it my skins a complet mess of cysts around my chin area. This is why I always try before I buy as I work in a department store and I take tester home to try for a few days because I’m very much acne prone. Absolutely devastated this lovely foundation broke me out.
Pros-
The lovely almost skin like finish
The colour rage, however small does cater to a wide range of skin colours I use grandest golden neutral all over (nc 30-35) and gargantuan golden as a contour (nc 50)
The way it feels on the skin is heavenly except when you get a tad too oily but I have to say the durability of this foundation surprised me it did last longer in my tzone than most!
Cons
The obvious break out
The amount you get in the product (not a great deal but I can deal as its not super expensive)
The fact that this didn’t work for me in the sense that it reacted to my skin because I really thought I was on to a winner.
I do love this foundation I think it’s well worth the try if you have normal to combination skins.
