My hair: long, very dry, fine textured, schizophrenic ie curly, ringlets and scandi straight.
Background: used Palmer’s olive oil co-wash, silicone free, both to wash hair occasionally and always as a leave in conditioner. It plumped my hair, made it soft, silky and very shiny. Of course it was discontinued in the UK, so in the hunt for a replacement.
Grow Gorgeous 11in 1 cleansing conditioner: first use my hair looks much fuller with more body. I don’t use any styling lotions or potions as they interfere with minoxidil and the excellent ordinary scalp serum. IE any shampoo and conditioner have to do all the work.
What’s different about this Grow Gorgeous formula? It contains a small amount of surfactant, so may clean better than other co-washes., I hope so.
Second usage, my hair is fuller still, looks dull immediately after washing but so swishy and full am happy anyway, so full it almost looks blow dried. Next day my hair looks glossy and much fuller than usual. I presume as this is a co-wash will have to use normal shampoo at some point, once it gets greasy, but all good so far.
Result: I can see my hair’s condition is improving and am pretty sure from results so far that these improvements will continue.
Will edit this review again when I see the longterm results.

I had a keratin treatment done at the hairdressers in dec last year as my hair was in ridiculously bad condition from heat styling etc and the treatment worked fantastically my hair looked and felt great, so you have to use sulphate free products to maintain the treatment for as long as possible, they say the treatment lasts up to 3months 5 if you don’t wash it as often, well I’m 5 months into the treatment now and use this grow gorgeous product my hair is as lovely now after using this as it was after the keratin treatment was first done, no frizz no fly always it’s just bloody brilliant and the smell is amazing, my husband asked me what perfume I was wearing, which may be a put off for some but personally I love that. This has kept up with the maintenance of my hair I only wish I’d found their products sooner as I’m now a complete convert and will never use anything else, the shine serum is also lovely and makes my hair so soft and shiny in a good way not in a greasy way, so happy with these products I’m sure you would be too 🙂

I do love this product, it has pretty much saved my long, straight, chronically highlighted hair. But I can fully appreciate it’s not for everyone, and it comes with a few caveats:
– if you love a high-lather shampoo then this is not for you.
– I had been avoiding silicone in hair products for a couple of years before discovering Grow Gorgeous so didn’t feel there was any problem with it having insufficient slip or not making my hair smooth and shiny. But I think if you use a lot of silicone in your hair, it can take awhile to adapt to a non-silicone regime, and changing to this product might seem a challenge initially.
– if I use this shampoo for several days in a row, I tend to need a shampoo with SLS the next day to stop my hair looking a little lank – though I change around my shampoos day-to-day usually, so this doesn’t really bother me.
– I do use a conditioner with it as well – I think it’s contradictory for me to look for a product that will make my hair clean and fresh while also being moist and rich enough for my ends.
But once I started using this product regularly my hair went from being dry and frizzy to sleek and shiny, my hairdresser even commented on it. I wouldn’t be without it now, and after trying a range of cleansing conditioners, this is best for my hair. I find some of my earier purchases too rich now my hair is in better condition (eg As I Am coconut cleansing conditioner). Interestingly, some of the hair masks I relied on in the past to keep my hair nourished (eg Swell masque) are also now too heavy since I’ve been using Grow Gorgeous – a good sign that it’s having a sustained impact on my hair’s health.

I was sent this product for review by the company but I fell SO in love with this cleansing conditioner. This was the first “all in one” shampoo/conditioner I have tried. The scent is very natural and earthy but SO AMAZING. I was so shocked that this cleansed my hair after 3 long days and many gym sessions– all that build up of dry shampoo and product + sweat! My hair felt so soft and shiny even after just one use! The only downfalls are that the product is pricy and you don’t actually get a lot so if you used this daily you would run out in a quick hurry!

I love the concept of this product. In theory. In practice, it doesn’t quite work that well (for me at least). The idea is to massage a blob into the roots (not more than your usual shampoo), leave it for 3 minutes, then smooth the rest over the lengths and ends and leave for another minute, rinse and done. No separate conditioner needed. To start with, I need a fairly large blob to actually be able to massage it into my whole scalp. It doesn’t lather so I’m guessing that’s why. I leave it on, but then I can’t actually spread anything to the lengths, because of the texture of the product. So I do need to use more or use a separate conditioner. Bummer.
It does make my hair nice and clean. The smell is a bit manly. Does it wow me? No. Price? Normally 20£ but I got it on offer for 12£. IMO it’s pretty expensive for how it ends up working for me, which is sadly not that well. Thus, won’t be repurchasing.

This cleansing conditioner has really transformed my dry coloured afro hair as it is now less dry, silky and more manageable after using it for almost two months. To get the best results, you MUST run water over your hair for 3-5 minutes as your hair needs to be SATURATED with WATER to get the conditioner to spread around the hair as it produces a slight foam. Afterwards, the conditioner needs to be rinsed out THOROUGHLY to avoid greasiness. Additionally, if you wash your hair everyday with this conditioner, you MUST use a CLARIFYING SHAMPOO after 3-6 uses to avoid greasiness or buildup.
Short Rant
Many people with afro hair types have been using cleansing conditioners in a practice called ‘CO-WASHING’ (washing hair with a cleansing conditioner) for decades before they became mainstream products marketed towards straighter hair types. I hate that most mainstream brands market cleansing conditioners as a total replacement for shampoo when Co-washing is intented for using a cleansing conditioner more regularly than a shampoo in order to prevent the hair from over drying. Shampoo must be used but less frequently.
Would I buy again?
Yes but only when the product is on offer as it is expensive. I have bought 2 more bottles for 11.99 from Boots. The bottle has lasted me for almost 2 months as I use it twice a week and shampoo on the next wash. These should last me until it is next on offer.
FYI
Every couple of months lookfantic.com, Amazon or Boots will reduce the price of this product so I suggest buying more than one to get better value for your money.

I really wanted this to work for me, and it did in the beginning. It’s made my thick, frizzy and slightly coarse hair much more manageable. But after two weeks of regular use, my roots look so greasy and disgusting even after I’ve just washed my hair, and it’s all down to this. The instructions say to apply a generous amount (around the same you would for your usual shampoo or conditioner) to wet hair, massaging into scalp before smoothing through to ends. But I feel this is just too heavy to be using on my roots. I had to use a normal shampoo this morning just to clean all the gunk this product has left in my hair. It may be that I’m using too much or need to rinse more, so I will continue to experiment with it and update this review if necessary.
