I love the Redken Extreme Shampoo so I was expecting to love this conditioner but I absolutely hate it. My hair is fine but gets knotted easily so I need a lightweight conditioner to help detangle my hair, that’s it. This conditioner feels very lightweight but unfortunately did not to help me detangle my hair. It’s not moisturizing or nourishing in the slightest and I had to use another conditioner just to be able to comb through my hair. If it is like this on my fine hair I can’t imagine how bad it would be on thick, dry hair.

This conditioner works in my hair very smoothly, combs through easily, & makes my hair soft. I have coarse, wavy, color-treated hair. Will buy this again.

I have naturally curly, thick and dry hair. Even though I only use heat on my hair about once every four months, I have damaged hair. So I’ve tried a lot of different conditioner, but this actually made a difference. After just using this twice, my hair already looks and feels better.
Definitely worth a try.

I thought this would be the conditioner that would help save my damaged/colored hair. I have naturally curly/coarse hair that is blowdried/flat ironed daily, it is also colored/highlighted. This conditioner weighed down my hair and it looked greasy immediately after blowdrying, without even applying additional products. The shampoo is good and moisturizing, but forget the conditioner. I prefer the Color Extend, it gives the same moisturizing but without weighing down the hair. Will NOT repurchase.

From the label, I thought this product would help my fine and over-processed hair. I have that kind of hair that is impossible to comb even after conditioning. Very annoying. This product is just not what it says it is. It does not work on processed hair and honestly, my hair is the same if I don’t use it.
So if you have chemically-treated, chronically dry hair – like me – don’t buy this product. Redken’s Smooth Down Butter Treatment is the way to go. It works at detangling and smoothing out my hair without weighing it down. I also really have had great results with Aveda Scalp Benefits conditioner.

My hair hates this product dry tangled mess after using it . I have dry curly colored hair . I would have been better off with a drug store brand.

I feel a bit bad giving it a two cause I don’t think it’s the conditioner’s fault. My hair really does not respond to anything but aveda’s moisture conditioner. I got this for my birthday and I did as people suggersted – I used it every other time. then just once in a while. but every time I use it, my hair comes out like knotted, dried straw.
I have fine, bleached, chemically damaged hair. Which should be the type of hair that likes protien based conditioners. It doesn’t. It seems to much prefer oils.
I remember when gals used to put raw egg on their hair to restore it… or mayonaise.
And that wasn’t that long ago -it not like I’m ancient, I’m only 41.
Anyway, unfortunately it’s a miss. too bad it smells lovely and it’s priced a bit better than aveda, however my hair won’t behave for anything but aveda.

My stylist recommended this line about 2 months ago for my very damaged hair. After reading many very good reviews on it I decided to try it. The shampoo and conditioner smell amazing, even hours after I get out of the shower. But the conditioner leaves my hair feeling very dry and damaged. It takes me 30 minutes to get a comb through any of my hair, which has never been a problem of mine. The only thing that I really like about this product (besides the smell) is that it makes my hair noticeably less curly. So less straightening on my part, but I will be looking for a better, preferably cheaper system.

Smells delightful! Like having a fresh haircut from the salon! However, this product’s main conditioner is hydrolyzed protein. It’s nice once in a while, but definitely not something to use every day.

Scent is incredible! I use this with Redken’s “blow away” leave-in treatment and Redken’s “extreme iron force” leave-in treatment and my hair feels stronger than steel! My hair is extremely fine and breaks easily, so I am glad that I discovered this line from Redken. The extreme shampoo and conditioner both work great! If you have fragile hair, I would recommend this line to you.
Something I would be careful about is that I would alternate this with another shampoo/conditioner and only use it every other wash or so. Since this deposits protein into your hair, there is a such thing as too much protein and your hair can become weaker. But don’t let that scare you out of using it! This product is amazing when used properly! I would also use this conditioner in conjunction with the “extreme shampoo” to have to have the full effect.
