This concealer did a fairly good job of covering imperfections but the consistency is really something that Aveda should work on. Plus it is not the easiest to blend. What I do is mix a small amount of moisturizer to assist in the blending process. Just a small amount because you don’t want to turn this into a BB cream, which is basically a tinted moisturizer.
It’s a demi matte finish and doesn’t settle into lines. It’s kind of middle end priced which considering it’s short comings, should also be worked on.

I bought this concealer to wear at night at the beginning of my relationship with my bf to make him think that I had perfect skin without my makeup on. The best part of this concealer is its natural ingredients, it never broke me out when I slept with it on at night. It’s also a really good 5am touch up kind of concealer:) It’s very sheer and natural looking and does a moderately good job of covering up. I don’t use it as my primary concealer under my makeup because it’s too sheer in consistency but a good concealer to wear around the house on those days when you don’t feel like putting on full makeup.

I have always struggled w/under eye circles. I have tried tons of products that always end up settling in fine lines. This one isn’t 100% awesome but it works the best from what I’ve tried. It covers decently enough but doesn’t totally cover the darkness. If I use too much it does settle into fine lines. I dont feel like it does well covering acne. Definitely set w/powder or else it’ll come off easily. I like to use naturally based products & I feel like this works very well for having natural ingredients. Wears well throughout the day but if I go out after work I definitely have to wash my face & start from scratch or else I’ll look hit up after a few hours of drinks in a sweaty club!

Aveda’s concealer is wonderful to cover up any scarring or blemishes on the face, but it is not good to cover up dark circles. Its consistency can be chalky, which makes any fine lines stand out. I wouldn’t recommend this product for mature skin either because it is quite drying. When applying it to the face you have to work it quickly otherwise you can get a flaky kind of look.

I am really loving this concealer. It goes on very smoothly, and gives a very even application and a nice full coverage. This is not cakey or thick at all, its a very light weight concealer. This does a great job of covering up my dark circles under my eyes, it also doubles as a great eye shadow base, and does not crease, stays in place very well. I do use Urban Decay’s 24/7 concealer pencil to dab on top of the occasinal blemish for some extra coverage. This Aveda concealer gives a natural matte finish, and works great under their Dual Powder Foundation. I recommend this for any skin type, I think anyone would really like this product. I use the shade “Balsa”, which matches my NC20 skin tone perfectly.

This made me look older, because it got in all my lines…. which is a no go for me. Don’t get me wrong I just turned 23, but this product simply dissapeared after a few hours on my skin.. As they say a cobbler should stick to his last Aveda should stay with Hair and Bodycare, which is really good but the make up is just disappointing, I used the products on clients while I worked for a salon. Wouldn’t recommend it.

I have used this concealer for year, but after Aveda changed their formulas to be Paraben free it started to make my skin break out, and clog my pore. It is however a great concealer if you do not have acne prone skin.

I alternate between this and MAC MoistureCover. This has a more powdery finish and is a bit lighter weight, less coverage. I still like this and I love the silkiness and the smooth finish. Color selection is also good.

This goes along with the review that I wrote for the Inner Light Foundation as well…awful color match for me, unfortunately. Like the pressed powder foundation, the lightest color of this concealer looks almost white on the Aveda website…I was so excited, thinking I had finally found a foundation and concealer pair that would actually match my super pale skin. However, it was nowhere near light enough for my skin when I actually received my order..at least I was able to return it for a refund!

I tried it on once in an Aveda store and am still on the fence about buying it. I don’t use concealer, but would like to find something to cover up my slightly dark under eye area and the occasional blemish.
The good: The Birch (lightest) color blended perfectly and seemed to be moisturizing. Most concealers just flake, or sit on top or match awfully.
The bad: I got home and it had settled into my baby fine under eye lines in such away that it looked like I had huge wrinkles. It’s possible (I hope) that I just applied this too thickly/carelessly. I have no idea how to work with concealers, it seems.
I suppose I’ll go to the store again and this time I’ll have a salesperson show me how to use it properly.
