This concealer promises full coverage without caking, creasing and settling into lines. After using it for 2 months, it does live up to the claims stated. It is a creamy quick drying formula that requires quick blending. The coverage is buildable making it pretty versatile to customize. It has a matte finish with excellent wear time. I did notice that it seems to work better if I didn’t use translucent powder in setting it–my look just appeared a little overdone and I’m not heavy handed with powder. Additionally, the shade range is not very good, making it not suitable for all. I thought the packaging was kind of convenient and clever with the cap that mimics an eraser. Overall, its a pretty good option.
I purchased this concealer from Ulta after hearing that this was nearly as good as Shape Tape. First, the shade range is not good. I needed the fairest shade and the first couple of times I went to go look for it, Ulta was out of the shade. I also really dislike the packaging as it is pretty juvenile. Who wants a concealer that looks like a pencil eraser. As with a lot of Benefit’s packaging, they try too hard and there is too much going on. Simplicity would be so much better and less gimmick-y.
That being said, the product itself is quite good. This is a full-coverage concealer and applied smoothly. The best part is that this is full coverage and I didn’t have to apply multiple layers to build it up. Also, I forgot to set this concealer the first day I applied it and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that my mascara did not smudge at all, which is pretty amazing and my concealer still looked great at the end of the day. Despite the goofy packaging, I would definitely purchase this again. Hopefully Benefit will also work on improving the shade range, too.
I am honestly shocked at how good this concealer is. I was not expecting it to be so good when i bought it.
I asked an employee from Sephora to help me pick a lightweight concealer and she handed me this one
My undereye area has some texture, millia and very dark circles. Just by using a small amount of product, my dark circles are covered and my undereye area is completely lifted.
It feels very lightweight, does not crease and does not oxidize. I only use an eye cream before I apply it. I do not use powder to avoid adding texture to my already problematic under eye area. It stays put the entire day.
I wear this concealer with a little blush, highlighter and mascara, and it does the entire look! This is exactly the product I have been looking for, a concealer which i can wear by its own, without foundation and without adding many products to the face. I am currently 27 years old and not getting younger, so I prefer to have a healthy complexion and rely on the least amount of make up products possible. This concealer allows me to do so. It is pricey where I live (25 euro), but a product which is completely worth.
I tried this concealer and Kat Von D’s Lock it concealer. I found that Lock it was too thick and unnatural for the undereye area. But in the end that really comes down to each person’s preference
Bottom line: I highly reccomend this product
I really like this concealer. I find it lasts very long and is full coverage. I blend a lighter shade than my foundation around my t-zone and eyes with a sponge, and I honestly can’t complain about anything. I’m glad I made this purchase on the whim because it’s lovely and the pencil packaging is really cute. It also makes my eyeshadow last longer without using a primer.
As much as I wanted to love this new concealer, sadly I do not think it is perfect for people with dry skin types.
Now, the shade range is a bit poor. There is very little to choose from, I am kind of surprised to see such a limited color selection especially from Benefit.
This formula though is quite long-lasting and uber pigmented. It is not as opaque in coverage as say Shape Tape, but it can be layered to achieve a desired effect. Unfortunately it did emphasize pores and texture, so unless you use some sort of a smoothing primer and exfoliate well, I do not think you will fall for it.
I talk more about this product and its Shape Tape comparison in a separate review here, for those of you interested (
