It’s terrible.
I had a sample of the cleansing balm and liked it very much to use as the first part of a double cleanse. I thought I’d try the cream because the balm is so rich I have to double cleanse thinking this would be a good option when I just wanted the makeup off but a bit of lotion would act as a moisturizer on those nights when a bit of moisture was more important than a deep cleanse. I was mistaken. It did not breakup my makeup at all. Worse, it left a terrible greasy slime on my face that took a tremendous amount of cleansing to remove, and I was still covered in makeup.
I tried a thick layer and tissuing off, thin and tissuing off, thinner still and rinsing off (the worst), thicker and tissuing off…nothing worked well. On top of that, it didn’t budge my eye makeup and stung (to be fair, they did warn not to use around eyes) nor my long wear lipstick.
I tried it as a morning cleanser thinking it might be refreshing and the oiliness I had experienced would translate to moisture, but it just left my face feeling weirdly grimy and greasy. I returned today after a week of trying every possible method of use.
I don’t recommend this product for anyone.
I returned it after a week

This does nothing. It doesn’t even remove makeup and I don’t even wear a lot of it. I like to use an oil based or milk based cleanser to remove my makeup before my actual face wash. Once I wash my face with this there is still a ton of tinted moisturizer and gunk left in my face. Yuck !!! Wish I returned this the first day I used it but instead I decided to give it a chance. I’m now stuck with an awful cleanser. Do not buy.

I didn’t like this at all. Texture was a bit too greasy for me and didn’t feel comfortable on my face. Got it near my eyes and it stung like hell. What’s the point of a cleanser that you can’t use for at least some of your eye makeup? Ofc I use a specialized eyemakeup remover for the liner and lashes, but come on, even drugstore cleansers (e.g. Boots, Garnier) don’t burn your eyes if you even get vaguely near them, plus their texture feels better on the skin. I can’t recall any other similar milky cleansers that sting my eyes as like this Clinique one.
I just want to use this up for face make up, but I’m still stuck with this bottle!!

This is the best cleanser for my extremely dry skin. Having said that, I have to say that I’m not using this as a makeup remover, solely as a cleansing milk on bare skin in the mornings. When I have makeup on, I use a separate eye makeup remover for my eyes, Clinique micellar light makeup remover for my skin and wash my face with foaming cleansers. But this product is ideal as a mild cleansing milk on bare skin. It has no fragrance and feels like silk. I already ordered two backups.

I can hardly believe these poor reviews, this stuff works a treat for me! To be fair, i do use a separate eye makeup remover and the product says right on the bottle not to use it on your eyes. I have oily skin so this can’t be the only cleanser I use, its too rich for that. But it does break down my makeup and rinses clean off so I’m happy with it.

Is not meant to remove eye makeup and burns like crazy if you accidentally get it in your eye. Does not do a good job at removing face makeup. Not worth it at all.

Wow! I am so glad I didn’t read the reviews before i bought this, because for me, this was one of the best cleansers I’ve ever used. I loved everything about it. My skin looked the best that it had in a loooong time while I was using this. I don’t know if I can attribute that to using all Clinique products at the time or not. (This, All About Eyes cream, and Dramatically Different Moisture lotion) I experienced ZERO breakouts while using this! ZERO! I did use a separate makeup remover for my eye makeup, because I don’t think any cleanser is good enough to get rid of the heavy liner and mascara that I sometimes put on. But for foundation, concealer, dirt, sweat – it wiped through all of that. I will absolutely repurchase!

This is not good. I was looking for something to remove water resistant foundation and eye makeup. I swatched a couple of CLINIQUE eye pencils on my hand, and then went over them with this Cleansing milk to see if it would remove them. Nope. It took forever for the eyeliner to even start to budge a little. I ended up in the Estee Lauder counter and got their Take it Away makeup remover lotion. That one WORKS, but stinks a bit. If it didn’t stink and felt completely safe around my eyes I would give that 5 out of 5 because it MELTS waterproof/water resistant makeup. BUT it stinks a bit, and I have to be careful to not get it in my eyes (even though is not so bad I have to avoid using it around my eyes), so its not perfect. Still If you want a makeup remover lotion that WORKS and you already have an eye makeup remover, I would totally reccomend the Estee Lauder lotion. I take it off with a cotton round and all my makeup comes off, great pre cleanse.

I really wanted to love this cleansing milk. I’ve used it for a while while shopping at Ulta to remove makeup test swatches on my wrists and thought it worked great. I finally bought it for home use for my face and found out it really burns my eyes and had to return it. Two lippies for doing what it claims.

Drying! Doesn’t rinse off easily. Not worth the price and doesn’t remove makeup effectively.
