“First do no harm”. The beauty of this cleanser is it is free from nearly everything that is known to irritate skin. This SLS free foaming cleanser is so gentle yet effective. It cleanses my super sensitive oily skin without stripping or drying. It can even be used on my entire eye area without stinging or irritation. Its very cheap but really good for all ages from tweens to golden gals. My stubborn patch of jawline cystic acne and rosacea has disappeared since using this and my skin feels so smooth and plump after using.
I use this in the morning anytime of year. At night in the winter I alternative with a few other scrubs and cleansers depending on my skin. In the summer at night I use a stronger cleanser as I get super oily. I’d recommend for:
1. A gentle foaming night cleanser for very sensitive skin. Dry combo, normal or moderately oily. Especially with a cleansing puff or scrublet. Use after your makeup remover.
2. Dry, Normal to Very Oily skin in the morning when you just need to refresh skin in the morning from overnight sleeping.
3. For people with thinning lashes and brows if you want to restore them. Use as a morning cleanser all over the face including lashes and brows. This removes the little “demodex” mites that lives in everyones lashes and brows and makes them fall out with age – its mites not overplucking that causes this. Cleansing them with a FOAMING cleanser in the morning removes the eggs they laid in the night and cuts back them so much your lashes have a chance to grow again. This is an overlooked issue as its not pleasant to think about. But give it a go if thinning is an issue for you. Mine have grown back since adding this to my routine! This was recommend to me by my eye doctor after I had a long illness and it worked a treat. I have extremely sensitive skin to nearly everything and I can tolerate this so well I can even use this over my eye area without stinging or redness or irritation.
4. As a morning cleanser for acne skin or roseacea. This is also to remove facial demodex mites which live in the pores of the skin and are a major (not well known) cause of acne, skin itching, redness, and roseacea. Demodex cause a problem because bacteria grows on the debris they shed inside your pores. Demodex sneak out at night to lay eggs and washing your skin in the morning with a gentle foaming cleanser easily washes away the eggs and the entire problem without the need for harsh complex routines. Avoid harsh products or cream-based products in your morning cleanse as it encourages the mites they feed on. After cleansing away the eggs you can moisturise with any kind of moisturiser you like. (Oil is a good night moisturiser as it suffocates the mites when they come out to lay eggs. This is why some people with acneic oily skin find there skin improves with oils, it kills the demodex).
Negatives about this are the packaging is a bit basic unisex. And the cap is slightly hard to click open. The texture is slightly runny. Sometimes when I open the cap more comes out than I wanted. But I got mine for US $4.50 so it was pretty cheap and lasted me for months.
Sorry to talk about demodex mites but I thought if it can help someone. I’ve only every read about this in scientific journal articles when they cured really bad acne and lash falling by taking proper care of morning cleansing and moisturising oils at night. I hope it gets out into common knowledge so everyone can have good skin 🙂

I love this cleanser! It leaves my skin feeling and looking bright and soft. The texture is a bit runny, so you tend to get too much product coming out – which is fine with me, because my skin is oily and the cleanser is so cheap anyway. My best friend uses this too, he’s got dry skin and he loves it as well so i feel like this cleanser suits a variety of skin types. Highly recommended!

Review for the Swisse Olive Leaf Gel Cleanser.
I have acne-prone, oily skin. My dermatologist recommended using face products, especially cleansers/scrubs, with salicylic acid and also stressed the importance of avoiding all products with oil/s in the ingredients (i.e. my skin already over-produces oil, so adding more oil is only going to exacerbate the problem). But, still, don’t think that one magic cleanser will ‘cure’ your acne, please save your money and see a dermatologist who can prescribe topical (creams) and medication (pills) for your acne, its not ‘vanity’ its a skin contrition that can be treated and resolved.
I chose this cleanser because it contains salicylic acid, is inexpensive and Swisse does’t test on animals. However, I found it did little to remove the oils on my face, did practically nothing in breaking down make-up, didn’t foam up and was far too gentle for my very-oily skin. I suspect someone with mild oily skin might find this more effective, as it is very non-irritating, but I just found it was a waste. I prefer cleansers with a pump, that foam up, usually have a tingling-sensation, and that effectively remove foundation, sunscreen and all the oil produced by my skin.

I really like this cleansing gel, you don’t need much as it carries very well. I don’t wear heavy foundation, but I’ve found it does remove eyeliner and mascara quite well, although it leaves black marks around my eyes.
This gel leaves my face feeling refreshed. I feel as though my face is a lot clearer than it was, although don’t completely rely on this to combat blemishes.

This is a cleanser for blemish prone skin. I don’t have oily skin and even though it’s very dry I am quite blemish prone. Problem is that I also have sensitive skin and can’t use products with SLS, which they nearly all have. This has gylocic and salicylic acid and is free of parabens, silicones and a whole bunch of other nasties. I still get pimples but this has significantly reduced blemishes and their frequency. It doesn’t dry out my skin and leaves it smooth. Does what it claims without drying the skin. I always double cleanse so I can’t comment on makeup removing abilities. It doesn’t foam up much because of the absence of ingredients such as SLS but I couldn’t care less. Has made my skin so much better.
