I bought it after reading BV uses it 😉
I use to avoid oil cleansers as they always left this greasy residue behind (famous DHC,Shu Emura, etc.) which then gradually dehydrated my skin.
Using foam cleansers both morning and evening is sometimes too much, even if I consider my skin as oily.
I use one pump to clean my face in the morning, massage into dry skin, emulsify with water (turn into milk) and then rinse.
and this is real gem 🙂 no sticky residue, no congestion/breakouts – just smooth and hydrated skin.
One thing I hate – the packaging. Even if you lock it could easily unlock itself while traveling and leak out 🙁

Excellent, thorough, very effective and natural-ingredient-based cleanser. I always use an oil pull makeup removing process prior to all my cleansers (I wear an a$$-ton of makeup, I want my cleanser to actually have an effect on my actual skin) but when I used this cleanser, it absolutely proved to be one of the best cleansers for my oily, acne-prone skin that also ironically can get dried out, and, is allergic to most cleansers on planet earth. It has AHA’s and tea tree and lavender last I knew, and it was a very concentrated potion – I used two pumps on damp skin, and I even used it over my eye area. I used with my Olay cleansing brush, too, and it proved so effective I’d use it just once a day, say in the evening, and use a BHA cleanser – Murad’s acne one is great, so is Alba Botanica’s Acnedote – and found this was a good system. The Cosmedix line also has a killer retinol serum that was awesome for my skin – easily one of the most amazing retinols I’ve ever used. So yeah, if you want a dope cleanser that really does something, this may be worth a shot. Cleansing brush or no, this bad boy WORKS.

Don’t like this product at all. Every time I’ve used it I have a break out of pimples, ugh!!! It feels nice and smooth on the skin and smells sort of minty, but doesn’t work in controlling acne, personally for me it makes it worse!
Sorry but way too expensive and not a good result. Unimpressed.

I bought this from a spa that I went to, the esthetician pushed sale and so I gave in and bought this cleanser along with 2 other serums and a spray SPF from Cosmedix..let me just say that nothing from this line work for me…so expensive for little amount of products, and I don’t like the feel of these products on my skin..for starter, I don’t understand oils in cleanser, I know the oils are supposed to balance the pH level of cleansers and helps nourish skin, blah blah..but honestly after using it, I feel like I haven’t washed my face at all, my face feels so filmy, oily, and suffocated…I don’t like any of those fragrance oils like lavender oils, grapefruit oils, or orange peel oils in my cleanser or moisturizer and all of the “high-end”, “spa salon quality” “prescription strength” product lines like Cosmedix, Jan Marini, Rhonda Allison, all have these stuffs in it, if u look closely the way these company formulate their products are very similar, long lists of ingredients with lots and lots of irritating fragrant oils that claim to be “natural” and “good for skin”…Rhonda Allison products even have denatured alcohol second of the ingredient list…anyway, back to this cleanser, I don’t like it at all, save your money for other cheaper but better quality products, even drug store cleansers would do better than this..

Best acne cleaner I’ve found thus far .. a little goes a long way, leaves my skin smooth, I only use it once a day because if I use it twice a day my skin will overproduce oil, I’ve been using it in combination with Define and my skin hasn’t been this clear in years! Very exciting. My only gripe is the bottle is almost full and I’m having problems with the dispenser already, It’s still coming out but you’ve really gotta work it, hoping it lasts the whole bottle!

I absolutely love this product. I’ve repurchased three times. I’ve got combo skin. Before this I had red blotchy skin. With dry flaking skin around my nose, gross pores and an oily t zone. It was horrid. Foundation never sat right either. A friend who’s a dermatologist put me onto this brand, and designed a routine for me. This has been one of the most important parts. My skin has evened out, my pores are tiny and I couldn’t be happier. I use it with define at night, affirm and hydrate + during the day.

Outstandingly effective cleanser. I am surprised that it can remove my makeup so well. There are a couple of drawbacks. The peppermint in it can sting the eyes if you let a lot of the cleanser get directly on your eyelids without foaming it up first. Also, the price is high and the packaging could be slicker, though it works well and is travel friendly. Overall this line has saved my skin, after 16 years of battling hormonal/cystic acne.

I absolutely love this product. I have bought it about 3 times so far and thats totally not like me. I am a product junkie and I am always trying new things because I could never find the thing that worked perfectly. I have found it! I love the Cosmedix line. Take it from me, they work. I have tried everything under the sun to clear my skin and make it smooth and pretty without makeup. I prefer to only use natural and/or organic products and this line does fall under that category. They use many natural ingredients but mix it with other things that work. Also, you can pronounce all of the ingredients and there aren’t a million of them! I don’t buy things that have tons of weird things in them that I have never heard of or that frankly, sound dangerous. Anyways… I use the purity cleanser, then this clarity serum and follow with the phytoclear moisturizer. BEST ROUTINE EVER. everyone I know has been commenting on my skin saying it looks so great! (thats odd for me because I have always had terrible skin). Plus, I hate wearing makeup so now I can feel good about not wearing makeup on my skin. This cleanser really does work wonders. It actually takes layers off of your skin.. no joke. I didn’t think it could be that great at first but trust me, it is. I just can’t say enough good things about those three products. They have worked wonders. Not only have they cleared up my skin amazingly, but they have taken off layers of blotchy, scared skin. Its just amazing. They are expensive but so so soooooo worth it. One place you can find them besides online is at Milk and Honey Spas.

im in love with cosmedix phytoclear moisturizer. i was talked into using the purity clean along with it by my esthetician. she insisted that i at least try it for a week. claimed that i would see better results by using both products. so i tried it and started breaking out like crazy with lots of small bumps all over my face.my face felt really irritated and upset. it has peppermint oil in it which can be a skin irritant. i stopped using this after a few days and switched back to my beloved grandpas thylox sulfur soap. im seeing amazing results by using just my sulfur soap and the phytoclear moisturizer. skin is clear, more even toned and spots are starting to fade.

HG…HG…HG!! I have already briefly reviewed this product under another category (Unlisted Brand – CosMedix Skincare – Face) but think it is such an awesome product that it deserves its own category. So here it is. CosMedix Purity Clean is a gentle exfoliating face cleanser (not a scrub), perfect for normal to oily, breakout-prone, sensitive, aging skin types. The two active ingredients are L-Lactic Acid (exfoliates) and Essential Peppermint Oil (smells like peppermint and feels refreshing, cool and a bit tingly when applied). Purity Clean has a lotion texture, and dispenses from a pump (one pump…or a pea size is enough to clean your face and neck, as it is very concentrated). It lathers only slightly when emulsified with water. It can be left on for up to a couple of minutes for added exfoliation, which I do as part of my morning shower once or twice a week. In the evening, I use a cleansing oil to remove my makeup then follow up with Purity Clean. I don’t use Purity Clean to remove makeup, as it is pretty expensive, and therefore cannot comment on its makeup removing ability. I pay $29 for a 3.3 fl. oz. bottle. With regular (twice daily) use a bottle lasts around 2 1/2 months. I don’t know if I would recommend this product for skin types that are on the dry side. I have found that it can be drying on my cheek area (which are not as oily as my t-zone), but continue to use it all over because of the exfoliating property. I cannot say enough good things about this line, and more specifically, this product. I originally purchased it as part of a kit and have since purchased the full-size bottle many times. I have not found another product that works as well at keeping my skin looking and feeling fresh, clean and blemish-free. I do still get the occasional monthly hormonal bump, but that is a HUGE improvement over what I was dealing with before finding my beloved Purity Clean. What’s not to love, CosMedix is irritant free, preservative free, fragrance free, talc and dye free, cruelty free, non-acne forming and chirally correct. Highly, highly, highly recommend!!
