This is probably the fourth of fifth oil cleanser I have used. I have dry skin that is prone to eczema so keeping my skin moisturized is an absolute must. I like that this is all natural, most oil cleansers are but I’ve run across one that was mineral oil based. Fragrance, i would prefer fragrance free but oil cleansers just tend to have it more often than not. This ones was pleasant and mild, obviously this smells like roses. I have pretty sensitive skin being eczema prone, but I did not find this to irritate of sting my face. A teensy bit got in my eye as I was washing my face and yes it did burn. I continued tow ash around the eye area, and was careful to keep my eyes tightly closed. Mascara can be stubborn to removed, and with this I did not have to rub to remove all my mascara. I noticed this product is very thick compared to other oil cleansers and the consistency seems to be affected my temperature. A single pump was more than enough for my entire face, so there should be a lot of uses per bottle.

This stuff stings! My cheeks would sting each time I tried to use it. They continued to burn for a few minutes after I rinses and dried my face. My rosacea would flare each time I used it. Do Not Recommend for anyone with rosacea.

I love love love this product but I have a few caveats. I do NOT wear makeup. I’m smart enough not to use it around my eyes. You’re not supposed to use any cleanser near your eyes. Scent is very much an individual preference.
This is a holy grail product for me. I’ve had acne all my life with even a bit of lingering acne now that I’m 45. I wash my face twice a week with this and any other day with just warm water. Since I don’t wear makeup or work in a dirty environment this works perfectly for me. Key words FOR ME. If you lead a similar lifestyle it may be a good fit for you as well. I don’t do strenuous workouts daily but I do work outside most days in the summer. I live in a factory town so we do have quite a bit of pollution and this is still my go to.
I’m 45 with mixed skin very slight wrinkles starting around my lips. Do not work outside my home but work my butt off there. Oily hair at the roots on day three. Shower 2-3 times a week.
HTH!

I wanted to love this so badly. I’ve tried it off and on for months. I love oil cleansers. I have combination oily skin and oil cleansers work well for me… until they don’t.
I don’t know what exactly is in this stuff but it Stings! Even when mixed with my L’occitane Shea oil cleanser, it still manages to sting. I tried to use it up since I paid for it, but nope. I think Shea Moisture needs to go back to the drawing board with this one.
It has a lovely smell, though.

What a lovely-smelling product, also the oils deeply hydrate and soften the skin. I had exfoliated to intensely and had to quickly switch cleansers. As soon as I did I fell in love this product. A half of a pump works well, there’s no need for a full pump to mix with water which will turn into a white low-lather cleansing emulsion. After cleansing, rinse thoroughly and pat dry with a fluffy towel. the skin will be hydrated, cleansed, smelling (Literally one of the best Shea Moisture scents,)l and dewy. I am confused with all of the low ratings, this product is amazing imo.

I can’t believe this stuff is marketed towards sensitive skin. I also can’t believe there is no warning on the label to NOT use anywhere around the eyes. Nothing has ever burned my eyes as bad as this does. The severity of the burning is alarming, really, and it makes me wonder what the heck is in here that causes such a terrible burn. I also wonder if there was any sort quality control testing done before this product hit the shelves. I suppose if you want to use it for face makeup only then go for it because sure, it removes the makeup. But to me it’s useless if I can’t remove both face and eye makeup in one step. The Neutrogena Cleansing Oil is a great one that doesn’t burn your eyeballs and it’s around $7 or $8. Go with that instead, for the sake of your eyeballs.

This is supposed to be for sensitive skin. This burns the crap out of my face. Especially around my nose and eyes. Then when I use my trusty Thayers Aloe Witch Hazel my entire face stings. Only washed my face with it twice, never again.

I really wish I would have read the other reviews of this before I purchased. It takes my makeup off just fine, but it stings the eyes like no other. I like this brand and some of its other products, but this is a pass.

i bought it thinking it’d be gentle so that i could remove my makeup, unfortunately it burned my eyes and lips and i had to rush to rinse it off my face. it left my eyelids swollen the next day.
