You have to use a lot of the product for it to work. You need to have damp hands before you pour but it doesn’t really lather. Did not clean makeup off as well as I hoped and it caused me to breakout on my cheeks.

I really wanted to like this because it’s expensive and it feels luxurious. But it is the only product I have ever used (and that’s saying something!) that visibly broke me out. I knew it was this cleanser that caused the breakouts. I have DRY skin and acne is not really a problem for me, but if I use this for 2 days straight, I will get a few pimples here and there. If I use it once I get these little red dots on my face, which is really weird. I still use it mostly on lazy nights to remove my makeup in one quick wash, but I don’t love it. I use it because I feel bad about throwing it in the trash since it cost me so much. But I will not repurchase this and cannot imagine who this would work for.

This stuff is horrid. Too thick, doesn’t deep clean like Shu Uemura or even lower-priced oil cleansers like those sold at The Body Shop (which might still be my favorite). Barely emulsifies. Just not nearly pliable enough to work with. Possibly led to breakout. Oh, and expensive, too! Avoid at all costs.

I’m not sure I like this cleansing oil. It has great ingredients – Avocado, Macadamia, Sweet Almond and Rice Bran Oils are listed as the first four ingredients. All are fantastic oils and I use them in my skin care regularly.
But Avocado Oil, for example, is quite thick and wouldn’t be something I would put on my combination, acne-prone face. I still tried it as I was told that the oil would be fine, plus the weather was also still cold when I bought it. It was OK – my skin didn’t break out from it. It is quite thick, and you actually have to place the oil on damp palms (says so in the directions). I didn’t think it was particularly effective in getting makeup off my skin (most cleansing oils probably won’t be, but some are still better than others). I also felt that it clogged my pores, but Avocado, Sweet Almond and Macadamia oils aren’t exactly renowned for being non-comedogenic, so I’m not surprised.
All in all, it’s not a great oil. It’s quite thick and isn’t particularly effective. Out of all the cleansing oils I have tried, I still like the Shu Uemura Fresh Cleansing Oil (the pink one) the best. It’s much lighter than other oils I’ve tried, more effective, doesn’t clog my pores or break me out and is great value for money.
Anyhow, I’m not repurchasing the Aesop cleansing oil. I also hate the packaging – I mean, seriously? Glass in the bathroom???? I had to pour it into my old Shu Uemura bottle to use it safely.

Have had this cleanser for some time now and I’m not sure I really like it. I like the smell and the effectiveness of it, plus it is gentle and my skin hasn’t broken out or otherwise reacted to it. I don’t like the packaging (only because glass and bathrooms are a dangerous mix) or the price. I also don’t like that I seem to have to use a lot of product to sufficiently cleanse my face, and I don’t wear a lot of makeup or anything. As much as I like supporting local business, I think that there are more effective cleansers out there for less money in more practical packaging.

Great cleansing oil that rinses clean & leaves skin soft and fresh. I mainly use in summer to remove all the sunscreen & dirt.

It is advertised as an oil cleanser for dry, combination or sensitive skin.
It has oils of Parsley seeds, Avocado, Sweet Almond, Macadamia, Rice Bran, Soybean, Lavender, Chamomilla and others.
It is a normal cleansing oil. Comes in a bottle without a dropper.
It has a yellowish colour and smells like Parsley.
I have to rub a lot of oil between my palms and then to put it on my face, it leaves residue. It left my skin nice and soft. BUT the next day I woke up with a cyst under my lip, 2 pimples on my forehead and irritated skin. Not recommended. Very expensive and you have to use a lot to have enough to massage into your skin.
