I have really dry/sensitive skin and this is one of the only cleansers I’ve found that doesn’t dry out or irritate my skin. Good stuff.

I used this as face wash, for long then it started breaking out my face and leaving dry patches. The packaging is good and the first few weeks of using it then its bad. As for the price its over priced

This is a cream cleanser that’s soap and surfactant free. It uses oils and humectants to cleanse skin. There are plenty of options of the market that have similar formulations, Glossier Milky Jelly, Body Shop Aloe cream cleanser, Ponds, and the list goes on. Even cleansing with plain oil uses the same principle.
If you’re not used to cleansing with things like this, it’ll definitely feel weird. Skin won’t feel squeaky clean, it might even feel soft and and a bit dewy. I’ve been oil cleansing for some years, so I’m used to the after feel.
It’s probably not going to remove a face full of makeup, water proof eye make up, etc. It’s very gentle and thusly not powerful enough for that. If you’re expecting it to deep clean, it won’t.
I have normal skin that leans towards dry and can get dehydrated. I don’t need deep cleansing because my skin isn’t oily or clog prone. I can only use super gentle cleansers, mostly I just cleanse with plain plant oils, and sometimes Simple gel cleanser. I bought this Clinique cleanser to try and I don’t like it. The positives are that it rinses much cleaner than plain oils I normally use. That’s about it. It tingles and numbs my eyes, nose and lips. And it felt a bit stripping after a few uses. I gave it away.
I totally understand the negative reviews due to irritation, acne, and the product just generally causing issues. But I don’t understand why people fault the product because it’s not a ‘traditional’ cleanser. It’s not, it’s a cream cleanser. I also don’t understand why Clinique uses the word soap in the product name, that is misleading.

This is not a soap but a creamy cleanser. I’ve decided to give Clinique another try after having last used it years ago as Clinique has *finally* changed a few things – just a few. I don’t remember if they had a liquid version of the soap last time I used it.
I don’t feel this is anything special, there are creamy cleansers available at the drugstore that work just as well, if not better because they are formulated to remove makeup, where this soap is meant to be used on a makeup-free face. But since I’ve never tried it I decided to go ahead and get some. It freshens and leaves my skin clean without drying it out. But I don’t think it’s anything special, other than it’s indeed mild and all of the things Clinique is known for (fragrance free and non-irritating).

I hated it alot because it’s too strong like concentrated, fragranced, and caused breakouts on me. Plus, it was drying. Be careful of it’s ingredients.

I could not love this product anymore than I do! It’s perfection given my goal.
I have combination skin with an oily t-zone and dry cheeks. I wanted a cleanser for my cheeks in the mornings. I use super rich serums and moisturizers overnight. So in the morning, I just need a cleanser that removes the moisturizing products without causing dehydration and nullifying the benefits of the overnight products.
Over the years, I’ve used products that were not horrendous on my cheeks. And yet they didn’t leave my cheeks as hydrated as I’d like. This Clinique product leaves my skin with the true suppleness that I desire!
By the way, I’d never use this product in a million years to remove makeup. Nor would I use it for any type of nighttime cleaning. It’s just way too gentle for that. In fact, the thing that I like about it is that it’s devoid of heavy duty cleansing ingredients! Instead, I think of this as a light rinse-type thing in the mornings that happens to be in a creamy formula. I quickly spread an amount that’s probably the size of 1.5 peas over my wet cheeks. Then I quickly splash it off with water and a washcloth. Finally, I proceed with my daytime toner, moisturizer and makeup products.
Enjoy this!

03/06/18 edit: after writing this review like next day my skin erupted into major cystic acne! I just got 4 week trial of Clinique Acne Solutions to try to get my skin back to where it was before this fiasco. I am having to use Cleocin T (RX) & it’s slowly healing in. It’s been 2 days since I had a new blemish & I returned this soap to Macys for a full refund thankfully. After I get my face back in order I will have to find a new cleanser. I don’t think I will need to permanently use Acne Solutions. Just to get my face go squared away I know my skin will get better. If you are at all blemish-prone run far away from this product. It should be reserved for those w very dry skin. Not good for oily skin whatsoever. It pains me to write a negative review for a brand I admire & respect but I am lowering my rating after it wrecked my skin! I hadn’t had a blemish for a couple of years! Then this!! GRRRRRRR…..!!

Original review: I’ve got “mature oily skin” (I’m nearing 41) & my skin IS quite oily although how I’m taking care of it has changed. My last soap was Clinique liquid soap for oily skin I decided it was too harsh & went to Clinique to ferret out a gentler cleanser & I was rec’d this by the rather odious Macys Clinique SA. I had to order it & it came in a timely manner. It’s wonderful. Creamy & makes my skin feel great after pond cold creme (double cleanse) in the AM. Then I follow w Clinique 1.0 toner & DDMGel. My skin feels great. I can’t believe i ever used all that harsh stuff when I was younger (clarifying lotion #3, liquid soap for oily skin….) I use 1.0 or lotion #1 I don’t like stripping my skin. I’ve finally got the right products for me. Yay =]

First of all, I have no idea what is Clinique’s marketing strategy with this product is because there is no way this is a soap. It’s a straight up cream cleanser. And I would have never even reached for this if the wonderful Clinique sales assistant wouldn’t have pointed me in this direction when I came for one.
Second, it check’s all the boxes I have when I look for a cleanser: gentle, non-foaming, alcohol free and paraben free. What else could you possibly want from a cleanser?
I use this as a morning cleanser or a second cleanser. It does not in the slightest leave my face feeling stripped of natural oils (because this baby contains oils and silicones) and is creamy (not runny or too liquid) and light at the same time. You can remove it with your flannel or it can be easily washed off with water.
I’m almost done with my first bottle and now I’m franticly searching for deals to get this at a discount because I like this so much.
Doesn’t break me out whatsoever, doesn’t irritate my skin, evem when I was sensitive and had those red flare ups of angry looking skin this did not hurt at all. So I suppose this would be good for those who are sensitive and/or are on accutane.

I really like this for my dry skin. I had been using PC’s Resist hydrating cleanser and I like the Clinique so much more. It smells better and it’s easier to apply, not so thick. Both remove makeup but Clinique’s is actually able to be rinsed off but I often use a warm washcloth as I did with the Resist cleanser–that one did not rinse off very well. Love the pump on Clinique’s and it looks nice on my sink. And it immediately improved my dry skin.

My skin reacts to foaming cleansers, and after searching long and hard for a good non-foaming one, I came across this. It cleans amazingly, leaves my skin very smooth and very hydrated and comfortable. Very pleased with it and will repurchase!
