I had high hopes for the effaclar duo kit for imperfections, but unfortunetly it made my skin condtion worse.
It made my skin break out even more and even after using it for 3 months it did nothing to improve the skin. I now use dermologica med brand for adult acne and it is much better! If you have just a few pimples I would not recommend this because you will get more acne by using this product.

This is pretty good gentle cleanser and it doesn’t cause redness for me. (Which is rare) I won’t be repurchasing though because it doesn’t help with my breakouts.

This is my go-to wash. I love this stuff! I may try others but I always return to this.

LRP confuses me to no end. Every product is different in literally every country / region! So a huge CAVEAT out there to all MakeupAlley readers, this version is the one from the US. It can be found in the US version of the Effaclar 3-Step Acne Kit. UK has a Effaclar 3-Step Anti-Blemish System. I first assumed the difference was only down to the Effaclar Duo, but no, even the cleanser is named differently. So this is the Effaclar Medicated Gel Cleanser Version.
I have suffered from Acne for a large part of my 20s, seemingly taking revenge on me as I had clear skin throughout my teenage years. I tried everything you can ever image, all forms of salicylic acid, glycolic acid to Differin and antibiotics. Nothing really worked as well as this. My typical skin condition before this was congested, one touch and you would feel all the clogged pores because of the muniscule bumps. These would then grow to become an inflamed pimple.
I started seeing results within the month. It did not make broken out pimples any better but what it did very well was clear the congestion. I started feeling the bumps go away and sure enough the breakouts reduced. I am now on my 5th month in and my skin is looking as great as ever. Only the occasional one or two breakouts during that time of the month and what’s left of the pigmentation from before.
What I notice as well is if I don’t use it for one or two days, I realise the congestion starts to come back so I have to revert back to this. It’s been a life saver and such a good price too. Highly recommend it if you have access to this US version.

This cleanser is good, however, it is not a good match for me as this is a salicylic acid acne medication and this ingredient is ineffective on my breakouts. That is why I will purchase it again.
