   For comparison’s sake, I am in my late 40’s and have *extremely* sensitive, easily irritated, dry skin. I also have rosacea (fun!). The vast majority of skin care products turn my face fire engine red with tiny little inflammation bumps, so please feel free to take my review with a grain of salt. If you have skin like mine, however, read on and approach this product with caution.

   I currently have a pretty good, basic routine in place for my skin, which has been quiet, calm, and happy as of late, but am always looking for gentle exfoliation that is not chemical based (ugh, AHA’s are NOT my friend). I used the Indigo enzyme exfoliating powder, which is ostensibly for easily irritated, sensitive skin, exactly once. Once. It’s eight days later and I am still recovering from the experience, with patches of super dry, flaking skin adjacent to my nose and across my cheeks, and an angry red rash around my mouth that is just now starting to quiet down. Eight days of looking like a hot house tomato. I kid you not. I haven’t had a reaction like this to a skin care product in years. And this is supposed to be calming? Reeeeally?

   It felt a little bit like comet (you know, the bathroom cleanser) in my palm before I “activated” it with water. I should have known in that moment it was not a good idea for me. It also foams up like crazy, another sign it is not going to be gentle. Sure enough, it stung on contact and after rinsing it off, my face felt dry and tight. Remember the St. Ives scrub from the 1980’s? Yeah, like that. My face was not in a sensitized state when I used it. It actually was about as happy and calm as it gets. My fault for throwing something unnecessary into the mix.

   Tatcha is currently getting a lot of attention from Instagram “influencers” and other product placement people. I am think the company has a rocking PR/marketing department. Perhaps they should instead invest more in the science of skin care when marketing a product to those with sensitive skin looking for a “calming” product.

   Gritty blue powder that left my face dry and left blue smudges in my shower. I’m using up the remainder of the container as hand soap.

   I have sensitive dry skin and I think I am allergic to this product. I used this a couple times and it gave me redness all over my face. The regular classic enzyme powder doesn’t do this. I also really like the amore pacific enzyme powder.. which may be better (and better value!)

   My sensitive acne prone combo skin found this too drying for me. Saw no brightening or real exfoliating benefits. It also left me a bit red. Will return this to Sephora. I’d recommend this for more normal to oily skin types.

   I have mixed feelings about this one. It does a decent job of removing oils and cleaning skin, but it is not the amazing miracle product for sensitive skin.

   Pros:
   – Gentle exfoliation, decent lather, decent cleaning power
   – No smell
   – Easy to use

   Cons:
   – Packaging is messy, powder will get everywhere if you are not careful
   – Contains alcohol, so can be drying. Probably not the best for dry skin
   – Overpriced for what it is

   Overall, a very gimmicky product. The blue powder looks a bit like a fine laundry detergent or Comet that you use for cleaning.

   I thought this cleanser will suit my sensitive skin and reduce any inflammations or redness, but it did none.

   However, the packaging is very beautiful, it comes out in indigo colored tube and rice powder.
