WHY does every great product get discontinued?! It boggles my mind.
I picked this stuff up on a whim because I needed an oil free cleanser after having false lashes put on. Turned out that I found the facial cleanser I didn’t even know I needed.
It’s non-foaming which means non-drying but here’s the great thing… unlike most non-flaming cleansers, this one actually cleans your face! Every other non-foaming one I’ve used, I would get makeup on the toner pad I used after cleansing. This one left my face clean and fresh feeling without being tight.
But now they’ve discontinued it… so disappointed.

Got this at winners – came here to find it has been discontinued! Great cleanser, no scent and super clean (but not dry) feeling after the wash. This is basically what I wish Cetaphil was. Cetaphil would always leave makeup/mascara and I’d get blackheads within days because there would still be dirt on my skin. No issues with this cleanser and works like a charm during the winter! I think this would still work for oily skin too tbh. Will repurchase!

True to its name, this is a very gentle cleanser for sensitive skin that also effectively removes makeup(not alone though). When it says its fragrance-free it really means it.
I don’t have sensitive skin so the big draw for me is that it claims to remove makeup. I’m also not sure it really mattifies since I use it to remove makeup and then I put on skincare right afterwards. This is a clear unscented gel that you massage on your face before rinsing off, there’s no tingling despite claiming to have a cooling sensation(usually from ingredients that would be irritating to sensitive skin) and doesn’t feel stripping so it is perfect for sensitive skin. Not greasy like an oil nor does it leave a film.
As a makeup/sunscreen remover this works surprisingly well. I use a waterproof physical sunscreen(Biore UV Perfect Face Milk for face and body) and usually have to use some type of oil/balm cleanser to make sure I get it off properly. I tested this cleanser on sunscreen that I put on the back of my hand and after some massaging I could not detect any trace of the sunscreen left(water droplets will form beads on skin that still has sunscreen left on it). Seems to remove most waterproof makeup with the exception of waterproof mascara. Of course for some reassurance I follow up this cleanser with micellar water (not Garniers, which I’m kind of peeved about because they seem to have cleared out a lot of products including this one to make room for an entire line of their micellar waters, 3 or 4 different kinds plus their minis, which is overboard and doesn’t fill the niche left by this cleanser imo). Before I use this cleanser I also use micellar water to remove most of my makeup so that I’m not trying to clean while rubbing makeup around my face and I also do the same when using cleansing oil. Though cleansing oil is the best there is for makeup/sunscreen removal I don’t enjoy the greasy sensation and prefer to use this gel cleanser on lighter makeup days.
I highly recommend this cleanser for both normal cleansing and light makeup removal, but unfortunately this great product has been discontinued. There is a charcoal version of it but it’s not the same thing at least in terms of performance, from what I’ve read of reviews. Still I decided to post this review to suggest trying to pick this up if you can still find it in stores if this is a favourite.

Best cleanser I’ve found for my super sensitive skin! It reminds me of The Body Shop’s discontinued Passion Fruit Facial Cleansing Gel. But this has no scent, no dyes, no alcohol. I’ve tried a many expensive, organic and/or more natural facial cleansers, but this is the best product I’ve found in years. It’s only $8-$10 for an 8oz bottle, and it lasts me 6+ months of daily use. Cleanses without much drying, removes makeup without scrubbing, and rinses away easily. And it does not irritate my super-sensitive skin. Not even around my eyes. I also use a gentle scrub 1-2 times/week (Lush Angels on Bare Skin) and if I wear mascara, I use an oil balm to remove that. But for ordinary morning & night cleansing, this stuff is great. WARNING – This product has been discontinued and replaced with “The Gentle Sulfate Free Cleanser”. Not keen to switch, so I’ve stocked up.

I have been using this cleanser for close to a month now and loving it. It is very gentle and non-stripping but leaves my face feeling clean. Removes makeup well (however I do not wear waterproof products) and smells pleasant. Nice pump packaging and price was great at about $8 canadian. My face has seemed to be calmer and less dry since I switched from my old hg cleanser which was MUAC’s blemish buster cleanser. For reference my face is normally combo, very prone to clogs and breakouts – but I am battling some serious dryness since moving to a colder city this year.

I’m obsessed with this cleanser. It’s gentle but gets rid of all the makeup, dirt and sunscreen. My skin feels plump, comfortable and clean, not stripped or dry. I love it with my clarisonic too! It’s got no major scent or color, perfect for sensitive skin.

Great cleanser! I have acne-prone, sensitive, & oily/combination skin and it’s always a balancing act to try to find products that help with the acne/oil without causing dryness or redness. I bought this product on a whim for 7.99 CAD and man do I not regret it! My skin had been particularly bad in the previous months and now 3 months later it has improved dramatically. Also great because it does not cause redness at all! Even when I use it with my Clarisonic.
Would recommend it to anyone and everyone that has the sensitive/acne/oily dilemma and you can’t beat that price!

This cleanser is magnificent! I love this cleanser, it’s my HG cleanser and I use it every night to cleanse my face. This is a very good cleanser for people with sensitive skin or people who just want a gentle cleanser, it cleans your face without being overly drying or irritating. I have found that this cleanser really helps clear up my skin during breakouts and after having been using it for about 6 months I rarely break out anymore unless I try a new product (which I usually do because I’m a makeup addict and I have to try everything!) but this cleanser definitely helps keep my skin clear. I also like that its fragrance free and is very gentle while still cleansing my face very well. It doesn’t foam up a lot, which I prefer actually but my face still feels very fresh and clean afterwards. This is definitely one of my HG products and I think it’s worth a try if you are looking for a new cleanser!

After years of being loyal to Boot’s Expert Sensitive Foaming Face Wash (now discontinued), I was on the hunt for a very mild and non-stripping face wash for my cystic acne-prone, sensitive skin. This lightweight gel cleans well without stripping, rinses away incredibly easy with 1-2 splashes of water, removes eye make-up pretty well, and doesn’t leave my skin with that shiny, taut feeling. I hope they don’t discontinue this product!
