Just started using this but I can already tell how it affects my super sensitive skin as I react very quickly to products (good or bad). I have oily, acne-prone skin with lots of redness. This bar contains calamine and tea tree to help soothe the skin as well as clear up any blemishes. The lather on this is very milky yet foamy at the same time. It’s a little difficult to spread around the skin so I end up taking a little extra time to work it in. My skin is left with the most beautiful soft matte finish as well as little to no redness. I have active breakouts with texture that hurts really bad, sometimes with scabs from the natural healing process and this bar hasn’t irritated them at all. In fact, I think it soothes them right upon contact. I also have an eyelash condition that requires me to put diluted tea tree oil directly on my eyelash bed but with this bar I can just carefully wash my eyelashes with no irritation while taking care of my problem. I can see myself using this bar for a long time as well as repurchasing. I initially got a little slice of this from my local lush shop but I soon discovered it will no longer be available deli sell and will just come in the shape of a little flower. I was torn between this and coalface as charcoal products have done wonders for my oily skin but because of my sensitivities Fresh Farmacy was a better choice.

I was after a gentle, calming facial cleanser to balance skin & gently remove make-up & build up.
A staff member recommended Fresh Farmacy, which is meant to be the mildest cleanser in solid form at Lush. She sampled it on my arm which felt pretty okay.
However at home I used it once on my face, and straight after rinsing this off my face felt so stripped, dry and super tight! Like using straight soap on my face. I’m not a fan.
I spent over $16 NZD on this so feel I need to get my moneys worth. I’ll use it up on my body, which also leaves that tight feeling.
I did repurchase Scrubee whilst in store, which I love & enjoy. Products at Lush seem to be hit or miss for Me. I’d personally give this cleanser a miss, unless your super oily or like super heavy cleansing.

this product is advertised as a facial soap for sensitive skin, but i dont think if its really made for that. so i went to a lush strore weeks ago, i was planning to buy herbalism but they’re out of stock so i asked the lady what her recommendations are for me, i have an oily, dehydrated and acne prone skin and she told me that fresh farmacy is the bes substitute for herbalism so i gave it a try, my first night was ok but after 3-4 days i started having cystic acnes i had 3 cystic acne and some reoccuring pimples which really bothers me and this leaves my face with like a powder finish to it because its a powder based soap, anyways this makes my skin break out even more which shocked me because i thought lush products were the one to save my skin but i was wrong. this makes my skin very dry to the point that my face will produce more oil, and make my chin, edge of the nose, and the eyebrow very flakey. i wouldnt really recommend this because it has a coconut oil in it, which oily skin people shouldnt really use anyways if you want give it a try

My bar for a good cleanser is that it should remove MU as well. This one that not, not even slightly. Most cleansers I reviewed / used in the past, remove MU as well, not this one. Instead it’s a nice morning face wash to start the day, it doesn’t irritate skin and feels smooth and clean afterwards. However, the soap bar easily breaks which isn’t convenient. Won’t repurchase.

As it’s plain to see from the ingredients list on this product this thing is a BOMB. It will get rid of most of the oil in your face – EVEN the oil that you NEED, so beware. This is the rare Lush skincare product that I’ve found actually works as advertised, probably a little better than wanted, in fact. Maybe it was my fault for not following the instructions given to me by the Lush staff, but I used it twice a day for maybe 10 days and it *changed* my skin type semi-permanently, from oily/combo to combo/dry (it’s just now returning to a status similar to the original). I didn’t even know that was possible, but there you go.
Would recommend against using this as a daily cleanser unless you’re super oily, but as an alternate cleanser or as a localized treatment for spots/shiny areas, it’s great.

Very special cleanser with a mildly clarifying action and fantastic calming effect. Nothing works like this absolutely love everything about it even the way it looks. My skin is oily and can imagine that those with a drier skin won’t like it.

I have combination/sensitive skin.I bougjt this bar last year in Italy ,it cleanses the skin deeply, and helps fading the acne scars,I use it every night before goimg to bed and it doesn’t dry my skin at all .Love it

I found this cleanser way too drying for me. My skin just felt tight and like it had a film on it after using this. I didn’t break out though but I did have to stop using this. Way too drying. Would not purchase.

Oily-combinated skin. It is great cleanser, but if I’m using this cleanser every day, it dry my skin.
I’m using this cleanser maybe 2 times a week, better choice is Coalface-lush for every day.

I am a huge fan of lush and have been using the fresh cleansers with good success. However, i wanted to try something else once i ran out of herbalism. My skin is very oily but at the same time, i hate cleansers meant for oily skin as they tend to strip my face.
Decided to go for fresh farmacy as it was touted as being gentle and calming and also good for oil control. Plus, it smelt really good.
Unfortunately, thats where the love ends…
First of all, its kind of pricey and leaves milky patches on your sink that shows up once it dries.
But worst of all, i hated the feeling on the skin after using this. It left a residue that felt uncomfortable.
And then, a few days of using it just once a day and i broke out in irritation bumps.
This is supposed to calm irritated skin…go figure.
Very disappointed.
So far, i’ve been less than impressed by their soaps…both for face and body. Dove does a better job for both face and body.
I will just stick to my fresh cleansers and the amazing shampoo bars and conditioners from now on.
If you are thinking of trying their face soaps, please ask for a sample first!
