I have super sensitive skin and the only cleanser that worked for me was M.D. Forte ii but unfortunately that has been discontinued. I started breaking out after I stopped using it and used skin ceuticals to help with the breakouts but that made it worse so my dermatologist recommend this foaming gel. At first I didn’t like it because I felt like it wasn’t working but I gave it time and now my skin is back to normal. It doesn’t dry out my skin. I have washed my face up to 4 times a day and it leaves my skin so smooth and clean. I have eczema on my chin and this product doesn’t irritate it. I am obsessed with this foaming gel!

I started using this product while using Obagi’s Nu Derm system with Refissa 0.05%. I found this product too harsh for my skin when combined with the other products in the Nu Derm system. I switched it out in favor of Cetaphil cleanser and my skin calmed down within a few days, not nearly as dry or red. After I completed the system I had the bottle left over half full of product, so I decided to incorporate it into my daily routine so it wasn’t wasted… again this product dried out my skin. I was not a fan of the smell of the product and I found the packaging a bit large and awkward.

Absolutely love this cleanser!! If you’re looking for a simple cleaners with great ingredients for everyday use this is your thing!! It literally takes off the heaviest of make up and the toughest waterproof makeup with just one wash .. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a basic wash!

I received this cleanser free with another Obagi purchase from skinheaven.com and I had no expectations. I love the way I feel like I’m splurging on an expensive spa experience every time I wash my face with this soap- it’s a luxury soap and I will pamper myself with it! I’ve always been of the school that a good cleanser stays on your skin 10 seconds and as long as it did the job why fret over that part of my routine. Neutrogena foaming face wash (Amber color one) had been my staple for years. However, when I started the Obagi Clear and Tretinoin/Retin A I became concerned that the hydroxy complex, in the Neutrogena wash, would adversely effect the Obagi product synergy. I bought Philosophy’ s Purity wash since it didn’t contain any active compounds to interfere with Obagi. However, Purity smelled awful, went on like a lotion and didn’t leave my face clean – I had to use three cotton balls of toner afterwards! So it was cool that Obagi offered me a free foaming wash with purchase. I do love love love this wash: you only need very little, it’s pinky/purple, it smells wonderful (all those natural flowers and such), it foams up great and totally cleans my skin better then Neutrogena or any other cleanser I’ve used. I have normal/combo skin and it didn’t over dry my skin…..it just felt really clean. AND honestly it seemed like my Obagi products were absorbed faster and more completely after use….they didn’t sit on my face. I used a ph toner and rest of my routine and I was good to go. I will purchase this product again…..I’m loving this Obagi routine so far and slowly becoming a believer. My Esforderm Forte and toner are coming any day now so I’ll keep updating on my skin conversion.

In the beginning this product worked great: it cleaned my skin thoroughly, and I didn’t get any irritation on my skin (which I normally do). The scent is great, and I love the way it started bubbling when mixing it with water.
On the other hand it dried out my skin so much, that I had to stop using it. I have a combination skin, so I got quite amazed. I will not buy it again.

background:
i am an NC25-NC30. i have sensitive, hormonal cystic acne prone skin, oily t-zone and dry cheeks. some hyper pigmentation on cheeks. when i get upset my cheeks get red and stay red for the day and even until the next day sometimes.
pros:
nice fresh scent
nice pink color
clean feeling skin
no stinging
no irritation
lasts a long time
cons:
can be drying by itself
can be more drying with toner
doesn’t thoroughly clean- it shows on cotton after toning
requires moistures immediately after washing/toning
does not eliminate blemishes on its own
expensive hard to find so people online charge whatever they want

HG face cleanser. I have sensitive skin, oily t-zone and have tried all the cleansers. This one gets my skin really clean and removes all makeup, even waterproof mascara. Its expensive ($35) but a little goes a long way.I like that its not a pump, easy to travel with. Besides, its pink and smells pretty- what girl doesn’t like that?

I thought this was a great cleanser for me. Non-irritating, not smelly, clear & foamy, almost perfect! But….became a bit too drying after I started my Retin/Obagi Blender treatment plan, so I switched over to the Gentle Cleaner for the time being, may switch back once I stop the treatment & my skin goes back to not having the flakies constantly.

I got this for free at my work, and it’s nothing to write home about. Just a regular, kind of soapy everyday cleanser. It’s pink, has a nice gel consistency, and barely foams, although it does foam a bit when I use it with my Clarisonic mia. I feel this is a little drying, and is not great for removing makeup. Nice to have around, but not something I would ever purchase.

My go to cleanser. Cleans without stripping, removes all my makeup (even waterproof mascara!) and has a nice, fresh scent. Pricey, but it is the best facial cleanser I have ever used. A little goes a long way–I only need to purchase about twice a year. I am forever a fan.
