I bought this because it was on offer and was looking for a natural ingredient cleanser to keep my pores clean im prone to sebaceous filaments and Millia. I bought this cleanser in a health food shop after reading the list on the side of the bottle which states, among many other things, that no harsh detergents, Parabens, Synthetic Fragrance or mineral oils are in the product.
My skin can become very dry with the wrong products and harsh ingredients flare up my rosacea but over the last couple of weeks I was having no skin problems at all, this is mostly down to switching to an all natural ingredient skin care routine.
I used this product in the shower using a face wash sponge – I always get great results when I wash my face this way as it gently exfoliates the dry skin away and leaves my skin soft, clean and helps to prevent rosacea flareups and break outs.
After using this cleanser one time my face felt very dry, I had a mild rash on my chin, my face was very red, itchy, flaky and my roscea flared up worse than it has done in months. I used my rosehip oil which usually sorts my skin out in no time over a hyaluronic acid serum and under my moisturiser, this made no difference.
The next day my skin was really dry and rosacea was really bad, id started to get papules all over my cheeks, my chin rash was worse and skin really dehydrated and dry and my face was really red, fine lines more noticeable because of the dryness too.
After almost a week I ended up having to spend 68 euro in the chemist on products to try and fix my skin..
It’s a week and a half later now and my skin is only just beginning to go back to normal, my cheeks and nose are still a little dry, I can still feel the roughness from the rash on my chin as it is clearing up.
This is all after only one use of this cleanser.
I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone, its a horrible, irritating, drying product and its expensive too.

Nothing great about this cleanser. Went through the whole bottle, and it did nothing for my skin. And it doesn’t remove makeup easily. Wouldn’t purchase it again.

I was really excited to try out this product as I wanted a natural alternative to my usual cleanser (Tacha Deep Cleanse). However, after around twenty-four hours after my first use, a started getting tiny, skin-colored, itchy bumps on my cheeks! To give a bit of my skin’s background, I have never had acne or many pimples during high school (I’m 19 now) apart from the odd blemish every month or so. My cheeks were itchy and I had to fight the urge to itch. At first, I thought that it was the heavy night cream that had clogged my pores but as soon as I stopped using the cleanser by sukin, the bumps were cleared in a few days! I wanted to like this product and it has so many good reviews but if you are thinking of buying it don’t as there are many better ones that you can find!

This product has ruined my skin. I have combination skin which was clear until I started using this product in the past week. Six new pimples have formed just in the past 24 hours, let alone the fact it dried my skin out to the point I could barely smile or squint. Yuck.

I started using this because its natural and at first i loved it! It made my skin soft and dulled the redness of my acne scars. Ive been using it for about two weeks now and ive noticed that i have little red bumps all around my nose and chin (i never ever get acne around there) and tiny white headed pimples too. Im 100% sure its this face cleanser as i havent used anything else new on my face. I dont even have sensitve skin either so it is very unsual for a product to do this to me.
I have a feeling it may be the lavender oil in the cleanser.

I spend A LOT of money on skincare and I just came from a cleanser that was $89. If you took off all the packaging and pricing I would honestly think this cleanser was right up there.
The smell – every walked past Aesop? It’s exactly what it smells like, not everyone can handle the smell. I’m personally not a fan but for this price and these results I don’t really care if it doesn’t smell like vanilla on a cloud.
If I’m wearing a full face of heavy MAC make up, it takes off my make up and then I just go over my face with Garnier mircella water.

So far I really really like this cleanser. My skin feels clean, and it gets off all my mascara without stinging my eyes. I’m lazy and prefer a “one step” cleanser, and this is just that.
My skin is left feeling a bit tight after, but I follow with an oil like goji or rosehip, then the Sukin night cream. My skin is clear, hydrated but not greasy. No breakouts yet – I have dehydrated, combo skin but I’m not really that acne prone.
Really liking this whole line so far!

My skin is combination to oily and this wash made my face feel dry and my breakouts worse than before purchase. Never will i buy a product without checking reviews, not even advice from the sellers
cynicalSyrup5
makes my combi to oily skin dry and breaks me out. too harsh on skin.
mercifulCurlew2
Nothing special, and doesn’t feel to totally clean my face. Worse, it breaks me out
dearBuzzard9
My skin felt very dry after using this cleanser. I have stopped using it a while ago, and never looked back.
mereLollies9
Crap. Went to italy for 1 month and bought this to take with me and take my make-up off. Really didn’t take off a lot, didn’t cleanse my face nice and left a light ‘layer’ of grease or something.. tiny bumps appearen too. The only thing I had with me thaI was able to remove eye make-up with was vaseline so I used that on my eyes (this stuff really didn’t take off a lot of eye make-up) and it worked a lot better. Once again, a dissapointment with nivea (I start to hate this brand more and more..)

This product is ok. A bit drying afterwards, my face felt taut and I have to put moisturizer immediately so I guess this works better for those with oilier skin (I have combination skin). I guess foaming cleansers are drying for my skin.
I used several tubes before stopping since it’s a good, cheap foaming cleanser. I also tried the whitening version and it did whiten my face. The smell is ok, nothing special. Will not repurchase though since I have found better, more non-drying cleansers with more natural ingredients.
goofyLizard1
It’s a relatively good drugstore cleanser. This creamy fragranced cleanser cleanses skin well and gives you a soft, clean finishing touch, whitenes skin as well! But it could leave skin a little dry.

Tried this cleanser a couple of years ago when I was looking to improve my skincare routine and use a gentle, non-scented cleansing product for my somewhat sensitive, combination, mild roscea-prone skin. I liked this cleanser at first, but felt it was too drying on my skin over time and then switched to Cerave Hydrating Cleanser, which I like much more than the Simple cleanser.
lazyMandrill8
At first, I was impressed at how easily this glided across my skin. However after using this a few times, I noticed even 1/4 of a pump makes my skin too squeaky clean. It almost feels dried out. I bought this because it was supposed to have a pH of 5.5, which very well may be, but it’s still leaves me with the impression that it’s drying. I’ll reserve this (and go down to 1/8 of a pump or less) only for days when I wear heavy mineral sunscreens with powder on top and really need to deep cleanse. I’m not sure if I would repurchase.
As for the formula and design: This is my first “true” foaming cleanser and I love the dispenser. I don’t like having to foam up and lather my regular cleanser and then just use part of the foam (so as not to over-cleanse). This dispenser gives you more control (and less wasted product). I found one pump to be waaaay too much, but it was easy to cut back.
The scent is ok- my nose is sensitive to fragrance and I did not find this strong or overpowering at all (pleasant to me, and goes away as soon as I rinse it off). I thought it was a reasonably priced priced cleanser at $6.30 for 5 oz (Amazon and others.). According to one Redditor, who reached out to cosmetic companies to find out pH levels of their cleansers in 2018, Simple replied that this cleanser has a pH of 4.5 to 5.5. (Full list:
I haven’t used this often enough to tell if it causes any issues with breakouts (it contains propylene glycol as a fourth ingredient, something I suspect *might* react with my skin, but no actual proof).
Glycerin (a humectant used in many skincare products for slip) is the third ingredient , which might explain the ease this has going on. They haven’t seemed to change any ingredients in the past few years. Simple Kind to Skin Facial Care Foaming Facial Cleanser is a staple in my routine, especially between winter and summer when my combination, sensitive skin gets fickle. In fact, I think it out-performs the more expensive competition, so don’t underestimate the value here.
Last year, I read an article where skincare experts and dermatologists agreed that you should skimp and save money on a few products, one of which was cleanser. All the fancy additives (which if you have sensitive skin you don’t want anyway) just get washed down the drain so it’s not worth shelling out the duckets for it. Save your money for treatments and serums. Besides, why pay more when this works so well?
Economically sound, it costs about a dollar an ounce and the bottle lasts for a few months with daily use. It’s a pump, so it seems like a pre-measured dose of product, but you can use less if you need to by not pushing all the way down when dispensing it. I usually use 1/4 to 1/2 a pump myself. That does the trick. Anything more for me is too much product.
Once pumped, it comes out in a cloud-like foam, thus the name. It doesn’t really smell like much of anything in particular to me, although I don’t think it’s actually billed as unscented. Add the foamy clouds to a wet face and it lathers well. No burning, stinging or irritation. No redness, dryness, tightness, or oiliness. Rinses cleanly with no residue. Clean face, you’re done.
It’s worth noting this is a nice, inexpensive way to enjoy a double-cleansing routine. In the hotter months, you can use it after their Micellar Water. In colder weather, you can use it after their Cleansing Oil. Both of those products are also quite good, don’t irritate and work well with no irritation or product interaction.
That’s the main thing about this cleanser, as well as the other two products listed here: they do not interfere with any treatments I’m using or medication I may need to apply. Literally zero interactions. That alone makes it worth using because serums and treatments aren’t cheap and neither are prescribed medications, but the low price tag here is a happy bonus.
Don’t be put off because this product (and the product line itself) is inexpensive. These are good products – especially if you have treatments, serums or medications in your routine. I use Simple year-round, SkinFix in Winter and Sensibio in Summer, and I save my money for the things in my routine that really matter. After all, good skin care shouldn’t be (nor is it) the costly business many companies would have us believe.

I liked this face wash. Super gentle. DIdn’t dry out my skin or leave it greasy. Love the foam cleansers 🙂
affectedCurlew6
This product left my face feeling nourished, but definitely did not deep clean it. I get breakouts only if my cleanser isn’t working for me. I’ve gone through a very wide variety of cleansers and unfortunately this one just doesn’t work. After using it for awhile my face started to breakout all over, both little bumps and a few awful ones. If you have no problems with acne and want a gentle cleanser this may be for you, but if you want a good deep clean this product definitely will not work. It also has a bit of an odd smell, but nothing overpowering.
gloomyTruffle5
Love this stuff. Very simple ingredients & effectively cleanses without being too drying. Best of all the foam is so luxurious feeling & spreads easily on the face.
peacefulCamel0
Up to this point, after using this cleanser for a week I can say “yes” to buy it again. I may change my mind but I don’t think so.
This cleanser is very good in my opinion. It hasn’t dried my skin out (so far) and rinses clean. It is really fun to use. You put the cleanser on your face and rub it in for 30 seconds and then stop…and let it foam on your skin. I wait another 30 seconds til it’s like dried shaving foam and rinse. It really is that simple. Do not try to create a foam in your hands the formula is not made to do that.
I don’t like the fact that there is 7oz in the bottle. When held to the light it looks like the bottle is a third empty. This is obviously having to do with the way the cleanser is made but seeing it makes one feel ripped off. It’s too expensive, as well. These two things would keep me from buying it again but for right now I like this cleanser enough to overlook that.
***UPDATE*** after a couple weeks of use this began to give me pretty bad dermatitis around the eyes. Also made my skin rashy and itchy. A definite NO. Too bad, I really liked the foaming action. I have to say it clogged my pores and made my skin look rough and unclean.
***UPDATE***I will try again. I was using Sunday Reily Good Genes and my skin hated, hated it. I will update in a few weeks.
A few weeks later- nope. This cleanser leaves a residue. My skin feels rubbery after I use this. After a few days it feels and looks like my skin is suffocating.

This is a cleanser I bought after reading reviews. It is fabulous. Love it. It’s the bottle that says Foaming Facial Cleanser (Gently Enzyme Cleanser) You can get it thru a dermatologist or on amazon or at Dermstore.com It is not something you can get at a drugstore or at Ulta. (wish it was). I have re-bought it for me and my daughters several times already. It doesn’t take much and with the right water to face ratio it will foam up like shaving cream and then this awesome thing happens. When you rinse it off it just feels like a clean face. It’s that clean feeling; not that tight dry clean feeling or that greasy oily clean feeling…. just the good kind of clean feeling. Squeaky clean and simple. I follow with Pixi glow tonic toner sometimes or just my moisturizer. I used to get dry patches but not anymore. I use this and Vitamin E moisturizer from The Body Shop. I see people complaining about the samples not being the same as the stuff you get in the full size. I don’t know anything about that I just started with the full size and that was all I needed to be SOLD!
dreadfulBuck2
This cleanser is really good!!!! Me, too, I’ve used about three times the sample and I was not impressed. But, reading reviews from some websites that sell this items, it’s 98% all 5 stars. I went to buy a full size bottle. Because during winter time in San Francisco, my oily combo skin become dehydrated from using AHA based cleanser (to keep my acne at bay). This cleanser is gentle, the feeling is different from the small sample sachet. My skin becomes balanced, it does not leave residue. The full size foams in my palms, you need to mix with a little water and keep emulsifying it. TRUST ME, full bottle and small sample of this is different, I don’t know why. I will keep buying this cleanser. I love ELTA MD sunscreen, I’ve been using it for over 8 yrs. When they win INSTYLE mag a couple of times, that means something right????
chicLlama8
Like other reviewers, I received several samples of this, enough for about 2 weeks worth. It’s creamy but not foaming at all. It leaves a slight residue that I didn’t like. I’ve quite liked other Elta MD products and have been very impressed but I didn’t like this at all.
trustingCaviar9
I am not impressed with this cleanser. To begin, it is fragranced. Not only do I prefer fragrance-free skincare products, but the fragrance of this cleanser is floral with a fruity note that does not blend. If I’m going to use a fragranced cleanser, I would at least like it to smell good. It also stings a bit, which is a feeling I try to avoid on my sensitive skin. However, the worst thing is that it doesn’t clean very well. It doesn’t even remove Elta MD’s own UV Clear sunscreen. In fact, it leaves so much residue behind that I end up following up with another cleanser, which makes this product utterly useless.

[I received samples of this, enough for about 5 uses]
I received quite a few samples of this cleanser, and recently have been putting them to use. I know nothing of Elta MD, except it is brought up occassionally on the skin board for SPF recommendations.
PROS: I can’t think of any.
CONS: When I rinse this off, my skin feels a bit squeaky clean, like rubber. The texture also doesn’t work well with my Clarisonic (though most foaming cleansers don’t excel – they need to be much thicker when they foam up). It smells pretty fragranced, and has what I think of as a retro soap/powdery-ish smell. I don’t like that.
OTHER: I’m not really familiar with most of the ingredients. It’s not the usual blend I’ve seen.
OVERALL: It’s probably not as bad as the 1 star I’m giving it, but it’s not good. This is an enzyme cleanser, something I’ve never used before, but one is just too much.

Bought this at Walmart while I was travelling, I ran out of my Vanicream Gentle Cleanser. First, I have normal/oily skin and live in a warm, humid environment. My skin is not sensitive. I love this cleanser! This does not leave any residue on my face (it washes off cleanly) it removes all my makeup, and my skin feels soft afterwards. 12 oz for $5.32 is a really good deal. I see this becoming an HG for me.
IMHO for the price I think this facial cleanser is worth a try for everyone.
cautiousLemur7
This review is for Walmart’s knock-off version of CeraVe’s Foaming Facial Cleanser for normal to oily skin. Do NOT be fooled by the vaguely similar ingredients! Unlike the real stuff, this cleanser leaves a nasty residue (my face never felt clean the times i used it). It’s pretty gross. It also irritates my skin and makes it slightly, but persistently red and inflamed for hours afterwards (my skin felt like it was burning all day after i used it in the AM).
I wasted $7 on it but you don’t have to! Just buy the real version or go to Target and get the Up & Up version for $8.

Very nice foaming cleanser, but nothing super special… Smells like those fake cakes aromas. Not so bad but you can find better ones 🙂
lovesickMagpie7
I didn’t buy this, I brought the Sukin show-bag from Melbourne show and this is one of the product that was in it.
Pros:
-I love the shape of the bottle
-Made in Australia
-Vegan
Cons:
-The scent is too strong for me
-Dries out my skin
-I’m pretty sure it broke me out
finickyWeaver8
I have been using this Sukin cleanser for 5 years now, and I won’t turn back. I had medium acne for nearly 10 years and nothing was working, my face was either oily and pimply, or dry and irritated, no matter which product I used. Within one week of using Sukin I was noticing less pimples and redness, and after one month most of my acne was healing up.
The price is great but I think I would pay $100 for just a tub of this stuff, if it meant living acne free.
I also use the moisturizer for my skin’s dryer areas, just a tiny bit is enough for me.
The toner mist is next on my list, to just freshen up my face during the day.
If you have combination skin like me and nothing seems to be working, definitely give this a try!
cockyToucan8
Makes my skin feel fresh and soft, but it leaves some kind of film (the moisturizer???) and didn’t really do it’s job in cleaning my skin throughly so I find that my nose become thicker with build ups (sebum). Only use it when it’s so hot (then I wash my face frequently so I need something soft n moisturizing). Won’t re-purchase.
pleasedGranola9
Drying and irritating. The new one with chamomile was slightly better but still caused flare ups and wasn’t very good at make up removal.
giddyMandrill6
My skin is sensitive to a lot of cleansers – this one was ok in that aspect (didn’t irritate) but unfortunately it didn’t get all my make up off and left an uncomfortable film on my face. Will not repurchase.
insecureGelding2
Finally, i’ve found something which my skin loves! I immediately fell in love with the product because not only did it cleanse my face, it leaves my skin soft and smooth also after i wash it! Thanks to the “no harsh chemicals” ingredients, i definitely would recommend it to everyone. The packaging is great because its spill free and one pump, foam comes out. One pump is enough to clean your face so it’s not a waste, one bottle will probably last for 3 months. I assure you, Your money is worth this product!
truthfulIcecream3
Gave this a go when I ran out of my Himalaya foaming cleanser. I was already a fan of its toner and I like the ingredients Simple uses in its products. It’s foamier than the Himalaya one which I love because it slathers on so much better with my facial cleansing pad. It has a strong scent that I’m not particularly fond of but it’s tolerable. I also found that the solution ‘leaks’ easily from the pump dispenser cap which I have not experienced in the Himalaya cleanser. It is slightly cheaper in comparison here in Malaysia but still in the pricier range of cleansers, in my opinion.
Overall, it cleanses my face very well, gives a refreshing feeling and the gentleness is a big plus. I will definitely keep this product in mind when I feel like switching up cleansers.

I bought this because Cerave’s foaming cleanser was breaking me out and I wanted something very basic and cheap to use with my clarisonic. I bought this instead of my usual Live Clean cleanser – I was looking to mix things up and this one was cheaper. It worked well with my clarisonic, and left me with very clean-feeling skin. So far so good,
