This is an updated review – I used to find this was the best soap for my acne prone skin…but now (being in my mid thirties), I find it way too drying for my face. I’m back to Dove unscented bar again.

My skin has changed so much thru the years loyally using 3 step I need to face it (no pun intended). Years ago I could use liquid facial soap for oily skin & ordered a new 1 bcoz the 1 I had was getting half used up. Well they changed it it’s much more stripping I used to also use clarifying toner 2 or even 3 in summer I did a bottle of #4 once now #1 is great plenty drying or 1.0 (formerly mild clarifying lotion) w DDMGel (or DDML that comes as freebies in GWPs). Enter this soap: it is gentle, doesn’t strip but gives you a clean feeling perf start to putting on ur makeup. I can’t get this in my eyes if stings like all soap I double cleanse w Ponds cold cream & this. I brought my oily skin liquid soap back for the liquid version of this bar they had to order it so I will write a review after I’ve used it some. This soap is perf & I love the soap dish keeps it from drying out or getting yucky. Stuff like LUSH coalface i can only use once in awhile too harsh this soap is perf I’ve got very oily mature skin that doesn’t easily break out. This soap balances my complexion so it’s not too oily & it’s not too greasy. Love!! #winning

Omg ???? I have had a long history with Clinique bar soaps! When I was a teenager I had first bought the oily skin version than started using their mild bar & finally I just tried their extra mild bar soap in a sample try me size a relative gave me Bc she didn’t want it
But anyways this bar of soap was the least drying out of their 3 strengths! The oily bar was extremely drying & so was the mild bar! But this one seems more creamy while lathering! It seems more super fatted &therefore more gentle
It seems like to be a stronger version of dove soap! That’s how I feel about it !
But now that I have finally tried all of these bars of soap from Clinique! It’s really time to stop ✋???? using bar soaps on my face! Bc even though this extra mild bar soap was much gentler on my face it still felt a bit dry & tight afterwards! ????????

I would give it 3.5 stars if I could. When my brother had really bad acne, using this every night helped him clear it, which is good. My face felt a bit tight after using this, I am not a fan of the shape of the soap, it’s not the easiest to hold. This did a poor job at removing my makeup. A huge positive is that it helped to curb break outs.
I’ve switched over to Aveeno’s Moisturizing Bar Soap, which I love much more than this. The Aveeno soap has very gentle ingredients, is a “non soap” meaning it doesn’t have harsh surfactants. I love the texture the oatmeal provides, and the shape of the soap makes it easier to either apply directly to my face or lather in my hands. Overall I have a better experience washing my face with Aveeno.
Aveeno’s soap bar leaves my face feeling more soft than Clinique, and takes off my makeup very well in the process. I’m so happy the $3 soap legitimately turned out better than the $15 one.

I’m 50 and have combo skin which tends to get drier in the winter. I chose extra mild because my cheeks have been hyper sensitive after recently trying some retinol treatment.I love the feel of soap on my skin and the clean feeling it achieves. It came in the classic green case which is useful but the whole lot gets pretty messy after just a couple uses. Remember to periodically take the case apart, and rinse and dry everything off. I usually use this twice a day, followed with toner–not Clinique’s because I’m using up some from another brand before I buy more. I switch between Moisture Surge and Dramatically Different moisturizers, depending on how my skin is feeling. This soap is no fuss, a little muss, but perfect for my cleansing needs. I’ve tried oils, creams, gels, foaming cleansers, etc., but I’m very pleased with the 3-step approach with Clinique and will be sticking to this routine as my skin is reacting very well to this regimen. When my skin needs some exfoliation, instead of using another product, I use my Olay battery-operated cleansing brush with this soap. My skin feels baby soft after this process. I like Clinique skin care but I wish the other products were as cost efficient as the soap.

Okay….I have dry sensitive skin and I LOVE this soap. I remove my makeup with Take The Day Off Balm(tissue off) and then cleanse with Clinique extra mild soap. I wet the bar and make a good lather in my hands until the soap feels more like cream and then apply to my face. I rinse with warm water until all traces of soap are gone and then dry my face with Kleenex hand towels…they are a excellent way to exfoliate a little without irritating your skin. My skin glows and I would recommend this product to all skin types…

Holy moly, I can’t believe that this soap doesn’t have better ratings. This is the shit, I swear. I’ve been using it for years. I got it as part of the 3-step-system back in the day, but didn’t like the moisturizer nor the toner, but damn it, did I fall in love with this thing. I love the idea of cleaning your face with a good-old fashioned bar of soap, but I could never in a million years use a regular soap… too irritating, too much fragrance, and way too drying. But this is just amazing. I have really dry skin, and I couldn’t agree less with the ladies who claim that it’s too drying. Sure, I have to apply moisturizer right away, but I’d have to do that with any cleansing product. What I love most about it is how natural it all feels… I was raised in the mountains and this totally feels like you’re washing your face in some well with a basic bar of soap. And oh my God, it lathers so nicely, it’s a dream. It only has a very slight smell, no perfume at all, it just smells really fresh. I apply this twice. First time to get the night/day off, second round to cleanse even deeper and get this super cool squeaky feeling that I so adore. My face feels so fresh and clean and pure after it, and it evens out my skin tone. I’d never even consider trying out something else. Also: This lasts for ages and ages and ages, I mean it, one bar lasts me for like year, and I use it twice a day. So the value you get for the price is great, too. A fantastic product. Basic but wohoo!

Best facial cleanser ever. I’ve used this soap for about 20 years and it’s never drying. It’s also the best makeup remvover. I backup on this soap. I’ve tried so many other cleansers and I got tired of it and decided to write this review. This soap takes off all your makeup like a dream. I think for using this soap for so long with my skin care, my skin looks younger than my age by many years. What I like about it is that it’s so creamy and smooth and takes makeup off instantly and I wear waterproof makeup. I wet my face with water first and then lather my face and rinse well and them I spray my face with moisture surge spray and wait 30 seconds and then add moisturizer and eye cream. Pure love!
