I really wish I liked this more but it was a complete fail. I found the smell to be very unpleasant (a mix between medicine and plants). The feel of it was creamy, but it was too oil based. It would lather up a little bit, but when it came to wash it off it would not completely come off and that’s when it was clear that this was more of an oil cleanser that cannot be totally washed off. I did have a step two which I would use to completely remove it though. What I find puzzling is the brand already has an oil cleanser which is far better and it’s obvious that it is an oil cleanser not a normal cleanser that can wash away with water. Personally, save yourself the money and just get the oil cleanser that smells like lemons.

The smell was so bad I called the company to find out if the product I got was old. Apparently it was made in May 2019 four months ago.
So I tried it a second time, but nope, can’t can’t do it. Back it goes.

I can’t get past the smell. This is a non scented product but it smells rancid. It dried my face out and did a mediocre job cleansing sunscreen off at the end of the day.

Since making the switch to only cruelty free makeup and cosmetics I’ve been struggling to find a cleanser that could adequately replace my old favorite, CeraVe. When I first started using this I didn’t think I’d like it as much as I do – it left my skin feeling suspiciously soft and hyrdrated, which made me believe it either wasn’t going to be good for thorough makeup removal or it was leaving a film and would start clogging my pores. Now that I’ve been using this for a few months I have to say it’s a really fantastic product. No issues with breakouts, removes makeup just as well as other cleansers I’ve moved on from, and my skin feels beyond soft after using this. It’s also fairly economical, while it does cost more per ounce than what I was using before I only have to use the tiniest dollop on a silicone face scrubber to work up a really good lather. The consistency is nice, it’s fragrance free, and it rinses clean. Very impressed with this, and so relieved the search for my new cleanser is over.

Probably the best cleanser I’ve tried so far. I love it so much that I’m willing to shell out the excessive amount of $$ for it. I’ve just about finished my second tube and I’m sure as heck going to get more.
Pros:
I only need to use a pea sized amount so the tube lasts months.
Luxuriously thick and creamy.
No scent.
Super gently and non irritating. I don’t feel dry or oily after washing my face.
Removes 100% of my makeup, including waterproof mascara.
Comes in several different sized tubes.
The lid is surprisingly hardy. I’ve dropped it and had it crammed in a suitcase and the lid hasn’t opened or cracked.
Cute minimalistic appearance.
Cons:
It’s so dang expensive! Like over $50 NZD for the largest tube.
So far, I can only purchase it from Sephora.

I received a 1oz sample size and love it. The company was not always cruelty free and since it is now I would definitely purchase a full size. I do use cerave facial cleanser which is a huge bottle so once I’m done I may purchase this face wash as my go to.

Super gentle cleanser that’s not drying or stripping. The texture is nice but because it doesn’t foam up a lot, it’s easier to use more than necessary but a little does go a long way. I’ve not tried for make up removal, though it would probably work good enough in a pinch. FAB has so many sets and small sizes that I’ve mostly used this for travel, which is great. The only ding is that the full size is a bit pricy.

I can’t get over how well this cleanses without stripping or drying out my very dry skin. I was afraid with the foaming action, I would experience tightness. My face feels soft to the touch afterwards. Just a small amount and the 5 oz. size will last a long time. Sephora sells the travel size to try before purchasing the larger sizes.

I really liked this cleanser in the beginning – light, airy, but creamy. It was gentle cleanser, non-drying, and safe around the eye area. Instructions on the tube says it is make-up removing. However, I always used a separate make-up remover prior to cleansing. I have normal to oily-combination skin (at least during the warmer months), and it still cleansed my skin well, leaving it feeling soft, smooth, and comfortable. It also worked well during the cooler months, when the air is drier due to the heater. I can’t say it is has provided any anti-aging benefits, though the description on the tube does say it contains anti-oxidants. It is relatively expensive, but I bought it at discount (15-20% off). However, as well as it cleansed my skin without drying it out, it was nothing extraordinary. And, oddly, I got so bored by it half way through (I bought the largest tube). I couldn’t say why, except maybe because any extra benefits from use weren’t particularly noticeably on me (I get only hormonal break-outs, and my skin has been pretty even-keel). I was so glad when i got to the last amount. I don’t plan on repurchasing.

As close to a HG cleanser that I’ve found yet, with Cetaphil Gentle Foaming coming in a close second for night time use.
I am 35, with combination, clog prone, acne prone skin, with secondary side effects (pigmentation, scarring) to take into consideration for treatment. I use tret 0.1% 3-4 times weekly to help with the acne situation, which can be drying and has caused sensitivity at times. I have been using this FAB cleanser for about 4 years now. It foams slightly with use, is creamy, doesn’t sting, cause unnecessary stripping, or contribute to acne, and works well as a second cleanse year round. No searching for cleansers based on seasonal changes with FAB in my arsenal. I’ve tried lots of skincare, high and low end, and my only other recent love asides from this cleanser is Cetaphil foaming, which I have started to use at night. Cerave was a clogging nightmare. Neutrogena ultra gentle stung and burned. Kate Somerville didn’t help acne whatsoever. Murad Vit C contributed to clogs. LRP didn’t do many favours and was filmy. Fresh Soy – what the fresh oily hell on my skin. I’ve tried a lot of products and this is one of the best.
My only complaint about FAB cleanser is that it is a bit pricey, at over $30 at Sephora for the mid sized bottle. Not always accessible and not for everyone looking to be budget conscious, but it has served me well for a long time and I will continue to use. I hope you find the skincare products best for you and your routine!

Not drying and quite friendly to my sensitive skin. Easy to bring it around. It’s reasonably cheap for the size
