This is a balm that does not emulisfy, it needs to be wiped off. I found this to be extremely overpriced for what it is. This is a first cleanser which leaves residue since its a balm. This removed makeup but I still needed remover to wipe it off, essentially I felt this was not effective as a first cleanse. The muslin cloth does not remove enough and I feel that balm cleansers need to emulsify to rinse off the make up etc so I can second cleanse. For what it is, this is grossly overpriced. I like the Bio-Cellular super cleanse much better in the same brand and I feel that does something and is effective in its purpose. I prefer micellar and cleansing oil over this.

I wear light makeup and this takes them off. I warm it in my hands and massage all over my dry face for a minute. It feels very greasy, some sparse, tiny granules in it that disappears after a while and the herby smell is very strong. I use a damp cotton pad to wipe it off and then i’d repeat again and finally rinse with water. This does not emulsify unlike some cleansing oils that can be washed off leaving no oily feel. My skin feels (combination) soft and moisturised after, leaving a coat of moisturizer. I’d follow with a gel cleanser which does not remove the oily feel completely.
CONS
Pretty pricy, the smell is too strong for me. I do like herbal scents but this is very strong! Reminds me of Aesop’s parsley seed range.

This is a tricky one to evaluate. In many ways it reminded me of the Vaishaly cleansing balm, but better in a several aspects.
Bad points:
– This really has the consistency of Vaseline and does not emulsify at ALL. It means my basin, muslin cloths and Clarisonic brush head do get a bit mucky
– There are some little granules in it which melt on your skin but can be a bit scratchy
Good points:
– Much more sensible advice from the company about removal. A wet muslin cloth does the trick nicely – I don’t know how the Vaishaly users manage without
– Not as extortionate as Vaishaly
– Gets your skin very clean – I used Lancome’s cleansing water once after it & the cotton pad came away spotless
– My skin really seems to like this stuff! No clogged pores, no tight-feeling skin at all, just a healthy glow
Despite its benefits I don’t enjoy using something that feels so thick that I struggle to even get it off my hands. But it’s not out of the question I could come around to it again in the future, since I can’t quibble with the benefits.

I was given a sample of this at SpaceNK and am really impressed with how it makes my skin feel. It has a rich, almost buttery, texture and makes my skin smooth and moisturised with a glow. I think I’m going to buy the full-size product when I finish the sample.

This is a great product – I have combination skin that gets easily clogged up but also flakes as soon as I put anything harsh or drying on it.
This has a sort of oily balm consistency, and I love the herby smell of it; though that’s personal taste. It rubs over the skin easily and you can feel it being effective. It didn’t clog my pores at all and my skin felt clean and soft – and also looked visibly soothed.
The downside is the cost – £25 for 75ml. This is expensive for me. I used the whole tube that I bought – not sure how long it lasted, maybe a couple of months; it lasted longer than I expected as a little goes a fairly long way, but still, pricey!!
I’m trying out the Sanctuary’s Hot Cloth cleanser now, because of the price difference, but it’s really not as good, so I reckon I’m going to have to go back.

If you like balm cleansers you have to try this. Way better than Eve Lom (and not full of petro chemicals!), more soothing than the Organic Pharmacy Carrot Butter Cleanser (which is also very good).
Takes make up off beautifully with no irritation (I use a muslin cloth), leaves skin soft and smooth. My skin can be extremely sensitive and reactive, turning red and hot if a product irritates it. But this is lovely leaves my skin calm and clean with out stripping it.
If you email the company direct they do send out samples and the customer service is excellent.
