I’ve had a different experience from the previous viewer. I grudging pay the ridiculous price because I get reliable results not experienced with other products whether drugstore, healthfood/”clean” or high end.
I have sensitive combination skin and wear a moderate amount of makeup along with a full sunscreen. I use this followed by the sea mud soap at night. I use one or the other in the morning depending on how my skin feels. I follow with EL Light Controlling Lotion on damp skin (the way it was formerly meant to be used). I don’t care for the moisturizers from this brand (far too overpriced for what you get) and use others.
This product feels like a non-oily gel, very silky and does not over-lather. It rinses off easily. It is NOT like the other “oil” cleansers from this brand, which I find difficult to remove.
Overall: This product makes my face feel clean while not causing redness, dry patches or sensitivity/allergic reactions. It smells ok, feels nice and I enjoy using it.
Bottom line: The Laszlo system does not appeal to everyone. You can purchase a trial cleansing duo for about $10, a travel size set for about $30 or, if you are lucky, you can find an SA to give you samples. You can buy this product from Dermstore, Skinstore and Sephora all of whom have great reduced price promotions periodically.

This Erno Laszlo detoxifying cleansing oil is the latest new oil added to their cleansing line. This oil cleansing is a charcoal and oil infused cleansing for combination/oily skin with large pores, acne and whiteheads. It is supposed to deep cleanse, exfoliate and remove makeup it is to be used along with the sea mud soap bar.
Ingredients:Water (aqua/eau), Disodium Laureth Sulfosuccinate, Butylene Glycol, Polysorbate 20, Acrylates/c10-30 Alkyl Acrylate Crosspolymer, Butyrospermum Parkii (shea) Seedcake Extract, Sodium Lauryl Sulfoacetate, Disodium Cocoamphodiacetate, Simmondsia Chinensis (jojoba) Seed Oil, Olea Europaea (olive) Fruit Oil, Vitis Vinifera (grape) Seed Oil, Sea Water (maris Aqua/eau De Mer), Tocopheryl Acetate, Charcoal Powder, Disodium Edta, Sodium Hydroxide, Hexylene Glycol, Caprylyl Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Chlorphenesin, Parfum (fragrance).
The texture of this oil is a sticky slightly thick gel not oily at all. You are supposed to apply it on to a dry face on top of skin care and or makeup rub it around then apply water to the soap bar and used the soap on top. Considering the thick gel texture this does not emulsify or breakdown anything as you rub it around it starts to dry down using the soap on top does really do much it does not emulsify the cleansing oil. This is more like cetephil but slightly thicker with the added charcoal and oils. This is not effective at cleansing yet leaves the skin dried out and flaky. In the end your makeup is not even fully removes it all sticky skin all flaky…… I have even tried the pink one for sensitive skin no good as well. I have combination/oily sensitive skin and have been using charcoal and oils cleansers for years even before it came to the Western market. I highly do not recommend this its not cheap $28 for the travel size kit and $58 + $38 for the the full sizes. The original one is great it breaks down everything but contains mineral oil and leaves a film.
