This was the first cleansing stick I ever tried and to be honest, I wasn’t overly impressed with it. The Physicians Formula website claims the stick is a ‘revolutionary deep-pore cleansing treatment stick made of purifying charcoal’ designed to draw out dirt, oil and impurities to deliver a deep clean whilst leaving skin silky-smooth, ultra-soft and visibly clear. It was great in terms of the size, as it made it easy to hold and use in the shower but it didn’t really do a huge amount for my skin. I didn’t notice my pores looking any less congested and neither did my skin feel particularly silky-smooth or ultra-soft. In fact, after using this my skin felt a little too tight on occasion for my liking.
Above all however, my main issue with this product was how long it lasted. I would estimate I got about 2 weeks worth of use out of it which based on how much it cost ($10.49 – around £8.00), really isn’t cost effective at all. Especially when I didn’t see any noticeable improvements or changes to my skin. I’m currently using something very similar from Simple which has lasted much, much longer, has made my skin feel smoother and look clearer, and was also a lot cheaper, so I wouldn’t be tempted to repurchase this.
