This one is a definite miss for me.
It’s a solid balm that liquifies instantly on contact with skin, and is supposed to be water rinsible. It does look as if it is water rinsible as it starts to wash off when you mix it with water. Unfortunately, even after trying to wipe it off with a face cloth, it left a greasy residue. I had to double cleanse very thoroughly. I have other cream cleansers that don’t leave a residue so this is a definite no no. I haven’t binned it yet. I might use it in winter when I don’t want to strip my skin, and when I want a slight residue left to protect against harsh weather, but apart from that, this just doesn’t work for me.

This works remarkably well as a cleansing balm and is less messy than others I’ve tried. It looks like straight-up coconut oil in the plastic pot it comes in. It smells like coconut, it melts down into an oil with heat, but once you add water it becomes a milky-foam texture that washes right off. I have used ponds cold cream and a few other cleansing balms and oils but this one works well to get everything off.
I like that I don’t have to use a washcloth every time or cotton pads to take off the balm and I feel like I can actually get everything off. I always follow with a second gentle cleanser to make sure my skin is clean. My incredibly sensitive acne-prone skin hasn’t been aggravated by this at all. I have also been using retin-a (rx) every day for the past week and my skin has become sensitive under the eyes again but this does not make my undereye area burn which is a relief.
